I get on at home only. We don't have internet capability at work:disappoin Oh well...Can't thank everyone enough for the help you all give. I just hope I can give it back when needed.
  3. Boy after a good nights sleep things just are crystal clear:classic: Thanks again Carl. I just hope I haven't screwed up the new bushings yesterday trying to put it all together. Today will be a better day I can tell all readyROFL
  4. Sorry Carl...it's late and I didn't read your post right:stupid: What your saying is on the bottom of the strut housing casting creat a small ramp by grinding slightly on the lower side so you can tapROFL down to fit it into place so the spindle pins will fit. It all makes sense now. This help is why I frequent this site. Thank you again Carl.
  5. Thanks Carl, I'll try that in the morning. Now all I have to do is get them out so that I can put the "ramp " on them.
  6. How did any of you who installed the urethane bushings get the strut assy into the transverse link assy:stupid: My bushings are approximately 1/8 inch to wide. In other words 1/16 inch to thick on the inside bushing front and rear. Please help???
  7. Tokico actually recommends doing this as well. I am in the middle of redoing my suspension (Bushings, struts, springs) I took mine all apart but glad I did as I found some unusual stuff (PO swapped rear strut housings with later model 260/280 so my stuff didn't fit) Got some replacements coming so I can finish it up.

I was afraid of that:tapemouth I also read here that the 260Z struts are a little larger diameter. I guess this answers my question as to why my Z had that ralley look rear suspension verses what appears to be normal for the front  Well here goes some more money:ermm: Any suggestions as to where to get them? There's not too many Z's in the wrecking yards around here!

I need some help from the group here... Is it possible to put a late model 260/280 rear strut assy on a 72 240? If so are they different? or is my Z possesed:tapemouth Here is my dilema:stupid: I am trying to put in my new Tokico HP struts but the old ones are about 2 inches longer than the new ones ( I checked the application on Tokico's web site and I supposedly have the right ones) and I am sure I'm not putting the fronts on the back. Any suggestions from the group or am I shi* out of luck and have to buy the correct strut housings?

I was also thinking about making one using a what looks to be good original in a spare dash I bought. I was thinking about making it out of fiberglass using a vinyl material with spray adhesive to finish off the inside. I have some other projects going on with the Z so it will still be a while. I will post back here when I get ready.

Has anyone ran into the problem after installing the MSA's 6 into 1 header of the transmission mount interfering with the 2.5 inch piping ? If so please give me some ideas:disappoin I really don't want to have to dent the pipe there to gain the 1/2 inch clearance!
  17. I guess I should introduce myself as well...My name is David. I'm 42 years old with a wife who hasn't said anything about my spending habits with the Z. We have two children ages 10 and 8. My Z is a 1972 that is getting to a point where the real expense is getting closer (body work:mad: ) I wish I knew how to weld and had the patience to the work myself. Oh well...I live in Cheyenne, WY and sell mattresses to people who want to get a good nites sleepROFL !
  18. Thanks all...I just thought I was losing my mind If my digital camera wasn't on the blink:mad: I would have taken some pictures and posted them in my gallery. Maybe the after shots :classic:
  19. I just got done putting in my MSA Header and ZTherapy SU's and went to torque down the nuts & Bolts. I searched everywhere in the FSM and couldn't find the specified torque requirements:stupid: I checked the Haynes manual I have and it says 8 ft/lbs. Is it me or is that not very tight? What do you guys/gals have as far as torque specs? David

2adz...Just went to your web site. I have to thank you for posting the materials and measurements for the rotissori. I have been hoping someone would do that. I have a 72 that I want to work on and some of what I want to do I need one so thanks again. I just hope that the measurements will work on my 240. If you can think of any differences that I may need to incorporate please let me know. btw... Looks cool!!!
  22. Okay will do. I probably won't be getting to mine too soon either. I am "Cleen Sweeping" my garage so that I can do alot to the Z. New bushings, Struts/Springs, Strut bars, total exhaust, Z therapy carbs, Crane's Xr3000 Ignition System. That should keep me busy for nowLOL
  23. mdbrandy... I just bought the Tokico HP Struts which are blue and their springs which are red and the springs are a direct replacement for OEM with the exception of being shorter and stiffer. Shouldn't be a problem. I have yet to install them yet however:(
  24. I just ordered a MSA header with the aero space coating for $244.95 USD. It was the six into one
