SU carbys?
Hi, Mellow I prefer the Jap SU's because I had a set once that where in good condition and I was able the set them up to run the way I wanted. ( Lean or rich ) It depends on the condition of the carbys first then the setup procedures. If you get the both good your home. The Brit SU's I had before needed an overhaul thats why they were cheap. It was just a bad decission I'd say if they did not need an overhaul they would have been OK. The carbys you have might be OK the Brit SU's. The only way to know is to is to put them on and get the engine running. Then take them to a Mini wreakers and ask questions. They will be able to help normally if if not busy they like to help. I'll send you the info I have on the 240Z SU,s if they are same layout with the mixture needle at the bottom and the float chamber on the side the same setup should help get them running. Taking them to a place that works on them all the time will confirm any problems with the SU's. Hope this helps with your decission You have two sets the 260Z and the Brit SUs normally what happens people take the 260 carbys off because they don't know how to set them up or because or they are shot. My quess is the Brit SU's are the replacements. Put them on and see if they are any good. They could be OK. That will save you dollars. You will Pay $250-$350 for 240Z carby's from wreakers and you might pick up a set that needs an overhaul? Hit our Miss!!Overhaul Kits sell for $150 US then you have shipping on top $40 to $150 US. Taking that into account Ztherapy sell them around the $550 Mark reconditioned. Carb specialist in Adelaide Charge around the $550 AU to overhaul the British SU's if my memorys any good. See how you go with the Brit carbys if they need an overhaul. I would sell them Cheap for $200-250 and put the rest to it for 240Z Carby's form Ztherapy. Peace of mind you Know what your getting then. :classic: :classic:

They look to me to 240Z Carbys. Gaven could be right take the air filters of and look underneath for the mixture screw. Float chambers are on the side pretty sure thats what I am seeing. look in between float chamber and main body there should be a stamp 150 in a circle. Have taken some pics off my spare set at different angles so you can compare. Also what numbers are stamped on the inlet manifold? Not all British SU,s have the float chamber on the bottom have seen them the same layout as the Hitachi Copys only they will have a red mixture screw instead of the the grey screw. You will know British as they will be stamped. Thats why I think they are early 240Z Carbs. The copies are the better of the two as the Japs did do a good job on them! Let us know what you find this is getting interesting!! Send your email address and I will send the British Zed Car Club info docs on how to set them upROFL LOL I'll send the pics in a bit.

Hi, Bravo I am all for proffessional soldiers getting reconigtion for puttting their lives on the line for thier country. Would not like to have to deal with the negative after doing a job. Being Ex Army myself I have found myself in the position of waiting to go to IRAQ with the knowledge it was the Brits that trained them to use chemical weapons and supplied them with weapons. Well that was when they were in favour with the west and fighting against the evil ones IRAN. Strange I think how the powers that be can twist the truth to suit themsevles How much support has the IRA received from the USA.How many other organisation have been bankrolled from the worlds police force? Food for thought! I wonder what the real reason for invading a country was? certainly not to free the poor IRAQ people from the Devil. Was it to make the Middle East more Stable I think not. Dirty Bomb?? something smells. The first conflict was justified is this one? I think they should pull out Quick Sharp and pay to build IRAQ with the good old Liberty Dollar. The other side of the coin who do the Arab's see as the Devil? I stand by soldiers that do thier duty as some pay the highest price and they should be respected. It is not their job to play the police role. I Question the politics of the whole mess and wonder were its leading? the ones paying the price are the IRAQ people and its spilling over !! This is just my perspective . Not taking anything away from soldiers doing their job!!

SU carbys?
Hi, Gaven /Mellow Been finding out a bit more about the upgrade on a 240Z its legal as long as you follow the guidelines when putting a turbo in. Do not know about the breaks yet as I have to write a letter asking permission , Please can I have a Turbo:sick: Let you know more when I find out all the requirements. Your right Gaven probably better to restamp the engineLOL . I have a 1970 Zed and there not as strict on the earlier models. 1972 ADR change with emissions:love: Mellow I would put the 240Z Carby,s on I have a couple of days off I will scan the setup sheet and email the to you. Just need to read the instructions on my new scanner! Think all these dumb regulations are more to do with emmissions when putting in bigger motors more than anything. No dought going to be out a few dollars thanks to the Raving Green Loony Party ROFL . All the Best Guys !!
