valances and spoilers and other such rot:)
hello useless ontheside: Z is at the panelbeaters, in $5000 AUD it'll be rust free andpainted ready to reassemble! however, its being painted metallic blue and so all needs to be done in one go, I am missing the side and front valances under the front bumper Who has pics or inforegarding front spoilers that replace them, i'm talking to bballs at the moment about his, but if someone has the valances around cheap i may consider them but mainly after info at the moment:) to see whats out there its a '71 240z btw:)

engine buy or swap
Hello i have an l24 with an e31 head which has been port and polished and had a mild cam job also with a lightened and a balanced flywheel I would prefer an l28et so if anyone out there is interested in a contra deal, with engine swap let me know asap so i can pull it out of the car before it goes tot he panelbeaters! !

Thanks for all that OFF TOPIC CRAP, nah just kidding its all good and i enjoyed reading all of that so yes, looks like bloke is making up lots of panels, except for the rust inside the rear 1/4? in front of the rear tires which is going to be a killer for the wallet!!! eeeeeeeeek so now i really have to decide whether to go with the silver stripe idea or not! if i go one stripe... should it be as wide as the bump in the bonnet? or should there be two, thats outsides are over it leaving a gap down the middle scarey stuff!, maybe i should forget the stripe anyways, thanks for all the help, Charles

Hey men, sorry, cookies or something are playing up at home, can't get anywhere cos it signs me out as soon as i load a new page? as for the L series engine - haven't ruled it out but its been port and polished, l28 something to do with fuel(240z carbs) mild cam job, balanced and lightened flywheel... so i assume things get expensive from there on, and its an older heavier engine as for the paint - Ozzguy i'll get some concepts done my drawing tool (girls do ahve a use (no offence girls) sounds interesting! and as for the SR, what can an SR handle stock, i have a mate with a stock internally Rb20DET that just ran 260rwKW! on the DDDYNO so shrug,

Heya agian guys, 2 thought provokers for everyone to share their opinion on my 240z - decided on 350z Blue color as the paint Considering 1 or 2 silver stripes down the length of the car, seen a few Z's like that and liked it what do you think? (given the bonnet vents will be chromed etc) any suggestions as to ideas with the paint etc are quite welcome at the same time here's another question since i cant be bothered going all out on an rb26dett and having no money for the rest of my uni life.... i've decided RB20DET, but have heard mention that the (heracy coming) - 4cyl SR20DET is a lighter and better motor.. Is this true, which should i go for out of THOSE 2!!!! all opinions welcome

thats what i wanted to know thanks heaps so its best to get something fabricated then i suppose, Bballs in brisbane does it and i've already had a chat to him about it, makes most of what i need by the sounds, but it'll work out dearer than the 2+2 shells

thanks for the replies guys i dont intend throwing them out but what i have come across is a completely clean 2+2 for a few hundred, that has had a big front right impact, i know the various pieces are slightly bigger and such i was just curious what everyone thought as to how successful they'd be, would a panelbeater be able to shape them correctly? thanks Charles

Firstly, sorry if this is the wrong forum but i wasn't really sure, not relaly talking engine parts or anything. Also i may have to get it today so i'm in ahurry to learn stuff But as some of you know i just bought a rusty car, there is a very clear 2+2 crashed shell (all damage up front wher ei have no rust) and i'm wondering if the drip rails will be useable on my Z? how much longer etc are they and are they the same angle across that bend? - or close to also what about in front of the rear tires there would that be the same so i can cut it out for the 240? and is the tailgate slam panel useable too? my panel beater has said the more panels i can get a hold of, the cheaper it will be, as he wont have to work out how to make them, so i'm wondering should i buy this wreck and get him to work with whats on it!? thanks HEAPS, Charles

well then! first things first - derust and get on the road, then over the following few months i'll be building the car up to the point where all thats left for the big project is a big engine ie all wheel discs and so on... THen i am considering 3 egines EXPENSIVE RB26 or not so expensive lexus 4.2 tt v8 or rb25det but first things are the cosmetics, exterior will be a nice blue with chrome higlights - ie bumpers and bonnet vents, interior mostly black and silver or blue around the place lots of money and time tho before its ready to go i'm also considering some sort of pattern put down the sides? (outside)

Hey, can anyone tell me what freight would cost to get a shell from Perth to Toowoomba? or brisbane if thats a stopping point for the travel medium - ie there are no docks in toowoomba if a ship is the cheapest Anyways.. i'm told a few people are in or close to the freight business in australia and i would appreciate any help! sjcurtis what exactly do you need from my car? its still got matching numbers right now i've got a few pics, its the drip rails my usual panel and paint guy is worried about? basicall the rear slam panel for the boot? its gone both the drip rails are right through, in front of the drivers side guard is right through underneath for a good 6" by 2" and on top has a small hole through And the drivers floor is pretty much all rust so you can see why i want a new shell has anyone got Ians account so ican PM him - he hasn't replied to emails! Anyone else got shells anyways Curtis let me know what you want and it'll be not a problem, i'm going to keep stripping her down tomorrow so i can take some photos then
