First Should i hook water to my manifold its ready for it just not hooked up, my car idles low when i take it off choke after it warms up it goes away after a couple of mins driving around (ie 750 reg idle when i first take it off choke it idles about 500) Second my Rear defogger dont work, i get power back to the glass but it doesnt heat up in the slightest, Would a continuity tester work on this and can this be fixed with the glass in car? Third Could valves out of adjustment cause me to get only about 13-14 mpg? *edit* Forth is the heated aircleaner hose helpfull to in cold weather? i dont have that yet eather the mounts are there but not the hose? Btw its a 74 260z 3 screw Round top Carbs Im going to try and get the valve adjustment done tommorow morning, and i was thinking sence i was working on it it coudent hurt to do the water if it helps and check out the defrogger cause its starting to get cold around here!! Well right now in Vancouver, Washinton it is snowing hard, the first snow we have gotten in any quantity for a couple of years, yes im driveing my z in it as its become my daily driver at least for winter. the cold air dont agree with my 65 stang. but dont worry i dount if the snow with stay around to long it never does,

What year is this diff out of?

like the title says, mines shot, if no one has one that works if they know what years and cars, engines that had the same one?

how hard is it to take the diff out of a 260z, im already taking the left half-shaft out to do a u-joint. the diff cover is leaking and i want to replace it here soon and i thought of doing it while i have it up on stands.

Well ive decided to replace the shifter bushing in my 74 datsun 260z and called nissan to see if they had them and to my suprise they did!! will cost me about $12 the part # are as follows Side Bushings - 32855-H1010 Bottom Bushing - 32861-N4200 Note that i orderd them for a 74 260z but i think they will fit pretty much all z trannys. am i right? im just posting this as i heard you coudent get them anymore

Before you Start looking for a new harness, Clean the contacts of your connectors, if they are dirty and/or corrouded(sp?) it will cause it not to function at all or get power only once in a while, get a continuity light (like a test lamp but supplys its own power used to test wires and circuts with no power) My dome lamp was like that had to clean it up and it works great now, they arent exspensive and you can test bulbs and fuses with them..

CHeck you connections, clean them even if they look fine, make sure your belt it tight on you alt!! if its not it wont spin right and wont produce power!

well i got it the hazard switch was Corrouded so i cleaned it up and it works fine now

Need More help, i think its the hazard switch if i turn them on, then turn them off and hit the turn signal switch the flasher unit click once or twice but wont turn the lamps on, im sure that its the turn signal flasher clicking cause i had ahold of it and felt it click

Well i dont know, ive tryed to bridge the connetions on the back of the switch and no go, is there a set of wires on the hazard switch that i can jump to see if its that or not? oops btw this is a 74 260z...

Well Fuse isent the culpret, change my hazard switch with one i got out of a old console, had it for a sec but then quit, Pulled the turn signal switch, and the ground wire for the head lamps falls off... resolder that got it back together, also got my horn working again as the contact wasent making contact with the horn pad... i cant tell if its the turn signal switch or the hazard switch. will check in a min to see if console harness is plugged in all the way with the main harness

thats where im assuming the fault is in in that hazard connector but i will deffiatly check the fuse.

going to check the radio install after work tommorow, but the hazards would not work if the fuse was bad right?

well i just put a Radio in my car and got it all together and looking good, now my turn signals dont work, hazards do, headlights high and low beam work, changed the flasher unit with another one and still no dice, it worked the night before when i put it in the garage.....

Whats the color code on the radio wiring harness?

yup that be the beast, i want the engine and tranny to sling into my stang, that would create a great monster, decent mpg and still plenty of power to kill ricers, and the ocational v8

I need pretty much every thing, but primaily need Dash harness(mines all hacked up ) console harness (same condition) The Choke , defogger lights, thats all i really want right now, im trying to get it in good working order before winter sets in, it sucks when my my defogger dont defog im attributing a lot of probs to the harness cause it is a mess the po tryed to put it back together after he got it from the guy that hacked it up, but i still get intermitent probs not to mention my fuse box sitting on the passeger side floor board with wires unhooked and cut etc..... im in the Us

Yes it is a inline 6, to bad ford dumped the 6 here, look what it is now in Oz!
