no they were let in the back of the car in a garage on the manifold, i got it to run with out backfireing now, cause i figured out which way "engages" the choke. now when i give it a little gas the idle shoots up to 2k from 1k and wont come down, i think this might be because im missing the rear carb throttle return spring :stupid:, i dont have a unisyc yet but my local parts place can get one for $24 now do i have to use the balace screw to get them in sync or the idle screws?

i have gotten a 74 260z the guy who had it before was in the process of changeing the flatops to roundtops and messes his back up he said he got the carbs new(Referb?) for $300, they never went on the car till i got it, and i can get it to run itll backfire threw the carb , and idle at 1500-2000 rpms i can get rid of the backfire and i now see that the front carb it leaking a little gas around the mixture nut, could the carbs have sat for too long? they sat for about 7 months before i got the car.
  3. ill take it! just maken sure it would fit my carbs. how much would shipping be to 98682?

this is going to sound stupid but which direction closes the choke on the round top carbs?
  7. need one in us, for the round tops type carbs, the condition dont really matter too much as long as there is no major dings or anything thatll prevent it from sealing or performing its job.

Hello im brand new to the forums. and new to the zcar (unless you count the 78 zx my parents had a long time ago) i got my 74 datsun 260z for free from a man that messed his back up and coudent work on it anymore. he had started to switch the flattop carbs to the round tops. well i have it now and got it pretty much back together, and i can get it to start but it idles about 2k rpm and backfires threw the carbs, ive read that that is a lean condition but i would like to know if there is a starting setting i can put them at cold to get it to run decent to warm up to tune? also wheres the mixture nut, is it that big knurled nut with a ball bearing in it? i have a digi cam but no batterys ill get a pic of the engine bay so if im missing anything i can get a heads up from you guys
