It looks like an R200 to me Dave, however you need to check the stamp on the ring gear to be sure if its a 3.9 or not. I believe 3.9 usually appears as "39:10" (basically 39/10 = 3.9...not sure if there are other ways it is stamped though)

Here's a few that I remember: Movies I'm gonna git you sucka - there's a scene where Keenan wayans is outside at night and two guys are shooting at him from the top of a building. The car parked in front of the building is a 260 or 280z. It has 280zx rims, a front and rear spoiler, it was bumperless, and was black (or some dark color - it was night time). E.T. - there's a 260 or 280z (i forget...its been awhile) that's parked in the street as the kids are walking or riding their bikes to or from school. I think it was brown or orange..but I forget. TV Shows Punked - the episode where they punk Kanye West. They were filming in a desert type area, and one of the cars parked (probably belonging to a crew member or extra) was a red 280zx. Songs Kanye West - that one gold digger song, he has a line where he says something like "turn the car into a Benz from a Datsun" or something like that.

I believe it is based on the 240z, but they may have just used a 260z for the movies. Maybe the 260z was someone's car and it pretty much looked like the anime, and maybe they didn't want to go through the trouble of getting a 240z built for the movie. I'm just guessing.

That's what I thought too. The bodyshop manager, the body man, and the painter worked on a few of the cars for the Datsun restoration program. I tried getting some tabs from Danny Datsun, but they were in poor condition (pretty much rusted out). :disappoin

Hi All. I was wondering where I could source a set of new tail light panel tabs for my 240z...the ones that are actually welded to the body in which the tail light panel clips connect to. The body shop removed these tabs when they replaced my rear pan, and I'm having a hard time finding replacements. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Looks like its 45,000 Yen/pair....so 90,000 Yen for a complete set. You might as well get the ground control units for 400/set. You can also get camber plates for $299/pair.

Jurven240z, Hows it going? Long time no see! 26th-Z Hi Christopher. I'm the one that Juan was talking about, who purchased the shell from Marc. Marc still has parts left from the Z restoration program. The shell's title was still under Nissan, and I have the letter written to the State of California asking to wave the fines/fees for re-registering. He's a nice guy, and he helped get me in touch with Matt Maloney, a body shop manager who painted a few of the cars for the program. My car is at the shop that Matt currently works at (he brought his paint and body guy over from the old shop) awaiting paint. I'll go ahead and e-mail you his contact information.

I saw these back in October. I also saw a black R34 with dealer plates driving in Gardena and on the 110 freeway. Gotta agree with you e_racer1999, I like the R32s out of the newer Skylines.

I remember seeing a Z in ET. It was in the background in one scene where the kid was walking in the neighborhood. I think it was a 280z (its been awhile since I've seen it).

Hi MickieB, Check out HybridZ.org. In their 6 Cylinder Tech Board, there is a Sticky on how to swap an RB motor into a Z. The author gives his take on how each motor performs (RB20DET, RB25DET, RB26DETT). Also, I believe they use an RB20 oil pan and a R33 GTS-T 5 speed tranny when doing an RB26DETT swap.
