which air cleaners?
Picture of a Filter sox I found online. I think I'm going to order 2 ram stacks and then try to make something like this. Some aluminum sheet metal and see if my old man can TIG something up. Slap a 3" universal KN on the end and I think this will be badass. Going to be awhile have a 73 and just bought some SUs so still need to figure out how to rig this up.

which air cleaners?
Before I call could someone first explain what exactly is a sock filter so I don't sound like an idiot. I figured it was just a foam type filter that fit's over the horn. I didn't think KN made foam type filters. I willl call them. I was thinking also this could work if I took the filter out of it's housing and zip tied it to the horn. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/HKS-3-BLUE-HIGH-PERFORMANCE-FOAM-AIR-FILTER-F1-TUNNEL_W0QQitemZ7996250625QQcategoryZ33659QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

which air cleaners?
I don't think KN offers this type of filter. I was thinking about getting 2 longflo replacement elements $5 each and zip tie 1 on each horn. I could have sworn I seen a race car with a setup that looked like this. Would this work?

How do I wire a 5 prong relay to a fuel pump?
Yes it does have a circuit diagram on the side of the relay, but it's not with me right now. I tried making sense of it but was confused. I'll do a search to see if I can find any info. Thanks.

Quick Brake Fluid Question
Thanks for the help. Just going to put in dot 3 or 4 right now. Once I do my brake system over I'm going to go with some Dot 5.1 probably.

Quick Brake Fluid Question
My brake fluid is a little low and I want to fill it up but don't know what to use. I don't know what is in their right now so what is safe to put in? Dot 3, 4, or 5? This winter I will be doing the entire brake system(lines, big brakes, rotors etc.) so I'm trying to be cheap right now.

Picklex 20 any good?
Does anyone have any experience with Picklex 20? It's "A combination metal surface cleaner, surface rust remover, 100% rust converter (including mill scale), conditions metal and provides a conductive metallurgical protective coating for long term rust protection, all in one application." http://www.ashjentech.com/picklex.htm Is there a BETTER rust converter/remover out there? Thanks.

Won't Rev past 2000 rpm on the HWY.
Thanks guys for all the help. Do you think this will work? http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3041867428&category=14934 This harness and relay look just like what is wired to my pump right now with the five wires.

Won't Rev past 2000 rpm on the HWY.
The aftermarket pump thats in there right now is a 12V 2.5-4 psi pump. The flow rate is not marked on the pump so I don't know what that is. Can someone advise me on what amp relay I should get? The one that was in there was 16A. I have found a 30A for $26 and a 40A on ebay for like $12. I am confused on the amp ratings and don't know what to go with. Thanks you guys are great.

Where is the OE electric fuel pump located?
Can someone tell me where the OE electric fuel pump is located? The z I just bought has an elec. pump in the engine bay which seems to be aftermarket and not OE. Trying to find out what it is. This pump is attached to a relay which turns on/off with the ignition. This relay looks aftermarket as it's wired inbetween the pump and battery. I found out the relay is dead today, so I have to get a new one but don't know what to order. The relay I took out of the harness says 16A. Summit has a harness with a 30A relay for like $30, but is this too big should I stick with 16A? Also is the pump suppose to adjust the amount of fuel the engine get's depending on the engines need for it? Or is it the same amount of fuel delivered at idle and 5500 rpms? Thanks

Won't Rev past 2000 rpm on the HWY.
Well it looks like it's the relay that runs the electric fuel pump. Took the relay out and jumped it with a paper clip and took it on the HWY. Running great never dogged down at all. So... The coast was clear:classic: so I brought it up to about 100-105mph for about a one mile strip. Ran great for 3/4 of the mile but it did start sputering toward the end like it wasn't getting enough fuel or air or something. So I now have a couple questions. With a properly running relay should the pump be on all the time at the same rate or does it pump more or less fuel depending on the engines need for fuel? I know it turns off/on with the ignition. What size relay do I get? It had a 16A should I go bigger like 30A or smaller?

Won't Rev past 2000 rpm on the HWY.
Great thanks guys. What if I start the car and take the positive off. Would this tell me if the alt. is working or not. I am going to mess with the car sunday when I have more time. What is VR?

Won't Rev past 2000 rpm on the HWY.
Ok my problem. The other day my battery died. It was almost dead low on water so I filled the battery up charged it and everything is great, fired right up. I take the z to work which is all highway. I have a mile to the hwy and it's running fine reving as high as I want it to rev. Get on the hwy cruising at 60-65 reving and running fine for about 3 miles. Then all of a sudden it just dogs down. I have the peddle to the floor and it won't rev higher than around 2000rpm and my speed drops down to like 25-30 mph on the hwy. I take the next exit and after a minute I can get on it again reving it as high as I want to not loosing any power. Coming home it did the same thing. One thing I noticed was the headlight dimmed when this happened. The guy I bought it from put an electic feul pump in. Is it the pump, battery, carbs, or wiring? I am lost.
