Free rear 240z/260z strut and control arm
I have had this sitting in the shed for a long time. I couldn't sell it on ebay for $1, so I'll give it to anyone who wants to come pick it up. I really don't want to just throw it out. I'm on the Gold Coast and can be reached on 0414 339594 Cheers Scott

Rear Drums off
You either have to cut the drum backing plates, or pull the stub axle. Depends on what type of brackets you have whether you can get away with leaving the stub axles in place. Search on here, and in hybridz and you should turn up what you are after.

I got a mini Z (matchbox) Doesn't look stock though, with huge rims and front spoiler and a few other bits. NRFP!

Nissan 6 spokes for sale
I'm selling a set of 5 rims with 'Z' centrecaps and all the nuts you need, plus a few extras. Some with bald tyres, some without. $150 firm. Also, a set of 4 35mm bolt on spacers and longer wheel studs to fit Silvia rims to the Z. I ran a pair on the front for a year with no problems. Never put them on the rear because I needed to fit the longer wheel studs and it's a little harder on the rear. So 2 are un-used. $200 firm. Stereo amplifier and wire choices
Find an amp that can be birdged to around 1x400w RMS at a 2 ohm load, then you can run both subs (assumed to be 4 ohm) in parallel. The other option is to by an amp that will give 2x300w RMS at 4 ohms and run a sub per channel. At that power you are probably looking closer to 4 gauge power wire. And don't forget, run RCA's up one side of the car and Power lines up the other. Any amp should have a cross over built in. A lot of headunits have them built in too. I can cut the treble from the subs and the bass from the rest of the speakers from the headunit, and adjust the sub gain level and it;s not even a high end headunit. Enjoy it!!

Driver's side steering rack bushing will ***not*** fit.
I had the same thing. The bushing was too wide, so I cut it down until it fit. Ended up very tight and snug = no movement.

Scandinavian Flick
It's used in drifting a bit. One thing to note is it may help to dab the brakes lightly to get more weight on the front wheels to help with the turn. ie to combat under steer. Someone put the nice new Ford turbo 6 demo car into the wall at Queensland raceway. He turned to the left a little, then when he whipped it back to the right for the corner, it kept going straight......into a wall.

Offset help
Just for the record. Running a 235 wide tyre on 0 offset rims will just rub on the guards. Lipping the guards fixes this. Running the same tyres on a 12.5mm offset will only just comfortably clear the spring perch on the rear and barely fits the front (so close that I wouldn't run them) so in my experience, if you aren't running coilovers and don't want flares, aim for a +5mm to +7mm offset in the rim.

2008 Z Looks more like early ?
Seems the closest thing to the old 240Z available today is the 180SX. RWD hatch, ~1200kg, 2L turbo for poke, and quite cheap all up. Add the custon 240Z front to one and there you go.

Parts available from JAPAN
You can't go wront with rims in the right offset. Both the Z crowd and the Ae86 guys will love anything with low offset. Especially if it says 'Watanabe' on the casting.

Not as much a toad, but... Paint it green and call it kermit. Actially, with the rounder front and round lights, the front is very 911.

quick question .. how much oil?
Use that as a guide, but still rely on the dipstick.

Anyone else got Gas in the Oil ??
I had a problem with petrol in the oil. Pulled the mech. fuel pump and found a hole on the diaphram. Let the fuel leak straight into the sump. Didn't really notice until one day I parked on a hill and the contents of the fuel tank made it's way into my engine overnight. Filled all the cylinders and everything. Didn't really want to kick over that morning for some reason.

Yes, unfortunately sarcasm and tone of voice doesn't transfer well accross the internet. The thing I don't like it the text that has appeared at the top of the screen a few times telling me I haven't posted for a while and I should respond to a post. I have been on here for a while now, but haven't had too much to say. It's like asking members to spam it up with a pointless post, the thing I really hate. But this site is pretty good in regards to that. Probably due to the lack of 12 yearolds talking it up big. Keep it up guys. All good work!! (hey, where did the thumbs up smiley go?)

Rear Stub Axle removal
I made a puller to take mine out. Used a bit of flat bar with 2 holes drilled to slip over two of the wheel studs. Welded a big nut to the bar that matched the thread on the end of a slide hammer (from a cheap dent puller set from super cheap) Still took a bit of effort, but at least I wasn't cramped under the car.

Did you try nissan? I have had pretty good luck getting obscure parts from them. Even if they do have to ship them in from Japan sometimes.

My Z is up for sale

The car has to go over the pits in NSW to keep it registered (it's a QLD car). Since I now have my Silvia running (bought it with a blown headgasket) It's too much effort and money to get the car cleared since I was going to sell it anyway. I have enough to do already plus I currently have too many cars. So, it is up for sale sooner that expected. No rego. I want it to go to a good home where it will be driven fast on a frequent basis.

New kind of Rally Driving
My friend did this to get people from the church to out house for a social night (I live in the sticks) By mentioning landmarks and street names etc it was quite easy to follow. Plus they has a commentary on the way to fill in the time between commants, but you could easily add some music if you had the right software. As far as setting it up, they just drove to our house, one person driving, the other making the recording. I believe it took a few goes due to excess giggling. Slap it to a CD and no worries, everyone arrived.

Jekyl or Hyde? Which do you drive?
I've been think the last week or so about how two-faced my car is. It sits quite contently in traffic, doesn't mind the stop/start of the lights, just plods alogn nicely, going witht he flow. Quite easy going. Quiet exhaust sound, doesn't stand out against the daily bustle. But, Sink the boot and it's a different story. It becomes a hairy, loud untamed animal, not fit for the social circles of the city life. It scares small children and destroys the peace as it tears through the quiet grassy hills behind the city. Offering thrills and excitement that the plod wouldn't aprove of. The perfect balance. So, which car do you drive?

Good sources for Suspension Techniques springs and Feedback on same
I have ST springs and Tokico struts and the only gripe I have is that the springs aren't stiff enough. I'm running a 22mm or 24mm front bar and no rear bar and I don't like how much body roll the car has. (73 240Z) I'm happy with the height. Lower would be better, but not on the stock struts. If I was to do it over, I would buy coilover sleeves and get them welded on instead and run shorter struts. Then if you aren't happy with teh stiffness of height, you can change it. If you are the type of person who will continually upgrade the car, little by little then make sure you think it through. Last thing you want to do is change your mind 6 months after you have it all fitted. Good luck with it. Scott

Cleaning out the shed. Few spare parts.
OK, fianlly cracked the diff open. Looks clean like a diff should. Had stamped on the ring gear JH 37:10 and a few other letters. I will do a quick search and confirm the ratio. The gears are covered in oil at the moment so it's hard to count teeth. Edit: http://www.geocities.com/inlinestroker/ratio.html OK, according to this, it's a 3.7 ratio. I just wanted to confirm that the 37:10 was the teeth cound on each.
