  1. I also agree with gogriz91. I also want something that no one in my town has with the exception of Sean240's Zed. The only similarity is they are both '73's.
  2. I use the K&N oil filter myself. I have been putting in Castrol Synthetic, but I switched to Red Line. I have not been able to drive the car more than to the end of my block to see if there is any comparison between the two.

  7. Thanks Beandip, I hope it is not too late to save the wires.
  8. Now I am having a problem tryng to figure out where to relocate the battery in the hatch area. I heard that right behind the passenger seat, but won't that block the trap door on that side? Need some suggestions. Thanks
  9. Gav, that is what I am thinking. They used a common picture to show you what it looks like. You wouldn't have a website that had specific L-series cam gear like the ones in Japan you are talking about? Hls30, I can't see how to make 2 OEM cam gears do the same? That would have to take some time to figure out. I don't think I could do it myself, I'll have to ask around when I get back home. Thanks-
  10. I found this website in my new Turbo Mag. http://www.9secondracing.com/partnum/2654/parttype/19/partcat/20/HKS-Nissan-280ZX-Turbo-1981-83-(L28-Engine)-Adjustable-Cam-Gear.html They say that HKS has an adjustable cam gear for the 280ZX and Turbo. I e-mailed them the other day and have not gotten a response back. I just wanted to bring it to the forums attention to see if it is truely possable or are they pulling our/ my leg. Thanks

  12. I guess you learn more everyday. I didn't know they could fit the stock shocks. (I need new ones anyway) Thanks again!
  13. Thank you very much, Curtis. Just courious, is there a problem with the Tokico brand? My car will be a daily driver also, so I don't want to use a performance setup which I'll only use once in a while. What other brands do you suggest?
  14. No, that explains a lot! thank you for the input. I have searched MSA for suspensions and I was going to try the Tokico spring and Illumina strut combo. It might lower the car 1" front and back. Will this be a problem with the 17" rims? What I am saying is will I have to roll/ cut my fenders to fit?
  15. Well, I am wanting to have the deep dish look, with the ZG fender flares I am also thinking about wide front and rear fenders. I found a website a while ago that made them. Where can I find Coilovers to fit the Z?
  16. I am looking at these nice WORK wheels VS-XX style. The website has a Specification Guide which shows rim depth in mm and then shows the offset for each size. I know the Z requires a Zero offset. How would I go about doing the math to findout what offset I can use with say a 37mm rim depth? Here is the website to the wheel and chart I am looking at. Thanks http://www.worksuperwheels.com/wheels/vs_xx.html[/ur]

  18. I wrote to Painless Performance on the dash wiring problem. They have a wire harness that I would have to "customize" to the Z. Has anyone had much luck with Painless? (I figure what else do I have to loose?) -Thanks

  22. Thanks Gav. I'm looking forward to doing it when I get back to the states.
  23. As you may know, I am going to be doing a turbo swap. I know someone else in town that was doing the same thing. He said that you can put the flat top pistons in a turbo application. This would raise the compression ratio a little. I have thought of it, but I am not sure if he is pulling my leg. I would like to know from the forum if it would work. I'd ask on Hybrid Z, but I can't get on the website from where I am at. :disappoin Greetings from the middle of nowhere...............
  24. I haven't been writing here, only when my wife gets on. For now, the car has not been running good. I changed all the timing parts, installed new gaskets, hoses, spark plugs, and set timing to 0 deg. TDC. Before I left for the sand, the car could make it down the street and back but with a lot of babying the throttle. The carbs are synced and fuel mixture does not seem to matter, they seem to act the same at any possition. My diagnosis is that: 1) My Battery is weak- need to buy a good one when I get back 2) My alternator is bad or going bad 3) My voltage regulator is bad To add to the problems, before I left, I let the car run at idel (the only way it would run good), I noticed smoke coming from the inside of the dash. Something is really wrong with this car, or it just dosen't like me. What would some expert opinions be as to what the problem is? (I have already tried the Priest opinion.. no luck there) Edit: I know, I'll remove the engine and all wiring, then I won't be dissapointed when it donen't work. :tapemouth
