Virto's Avatar: Although funny, the car looks like it can be pulled from the ditch and still drive away. The other "Wrecked Z Cars" are being trailered to the scrap yard. Sad indeed...
  2. My Z was up for 6 years and the only thing I can see wrong is the front driver side strut is maxed out. My "opinion" is: I don't think the doors would have much of an effect on the frame as fas as "twisting" it. It would, however, effect the weight distributed when the car is in the air/ on jacks or on a lift, but not by much.

  4. Now, what kind of response is this? Maybe you should think before you type, or not say anything that dosen't contribute to the thread. Don't you think?

  6. I like them. Makes a huge difference in the apperance. Have you had her at speed with the new meats?

This is what the Ford Blue looks like on the engine. I think Beandip is right. This blue is way too deep. My opinion.
  8. I got the bolt out!!! I sprayed the PB first and waited for 5 min. When I started to hit it with the EZ out, it moved. Got the rest with the pliers, like butter. Lady J will be back on the road by next weekend!! Special thanks to LanceM, seerex, cremmenga. Much appreceated.
  9. Are you going to be selling your G-Nose? I'd like to know how much if you decide to get rid of it. Ren and Stimpy is a really funny cartoon! I guess we both have pea brains...
  10. I just took this pic. It is a Fel-Pro gasket. You can see where the carb intakes will go. Good luck.
  11. You can use any "round exhaust port" gasket. The holes are there for the FI, but they will be covered nicely by the carb intakes. I'll post a pic soon.
  12. Ok, in the book, Wick Humble says: "Start loosening drip trim with screwdriver. Roll trim up and away from metal lip on roof, don't bend it." Then he goes on to say: "Gradually work trim forward, then roll off A-pillar. It makes one wonder how it stayed on so long." He says nothing about clips. I might have to check on my Z and see what is there. I hope I helped in some small way. Good luck on the rebuild.
  13. I will have to look in my How to Restore your Datsun Z-car book and see what it says to do. I am pretty sure you could find some clips that are the same at ACE or Lowes. Get back with you soon.

That was one wreck I do not wish to be in. That roll cage saved his bacon! :nervous: New plans for the future build of "Lady J", Roll Cage and don't take any short cuts! I know I will not be going that fast, but it likes to rain a lot here in the Panhandle of Florida.
  15. Yes, it does have X's in the lights. I was going to Auto X the car that weekend and never made it due to the slave cylinder going out. What do you mean, "drawing flies"? I thought it added a "race car" effect to it, so I left them on. My wife said the car looked like a cartoon person got punched out. :knockedou
  16. There will be a lot of fabricating the Intake and Exhaust Manifolds. Possable...maybe, if you were putting a Mac truck engine in.
  17. Would it be possable to widen the gap with something like a Dremel and a cutting wheel?

I have a Urethane one. It is very nice and I like the fact that it flexes so it is easy to install. I dont have to worry about breaking it like fiberglass. My 2 cents...

  20. In the States, I think the game is called "Tokyo Racer Zero" I have yet to see the 240Z.
  21. I second that notion. I had a good story line for a cartoon I was thinking about. The main person, Bolt Jakons, is a mechanic and he drove a 240Z. To begin the story, he is working on an 510 and a really nice Red Head drives up in a Purple 280 2+2. Let the magic begin. No title yet, but it will have a lot of Nissans and Datsuns. Thought I'd share, I have the art skill, but now I think a "B" rated film could be in the works. All I have to do is fix my car and find a 2+2.
  22. If I recall he did have the handle up. Did you also catch that the hatch glass had the vertical defrost lines and the tail lights where North American versions? For those who recorded the show, could you clearify these facts? My wife thought it was funny that I watched the show soaly because of the Z.
  23. That is pretty neat. What are your plans for a front? MSA or Victoria British have a nice selection at some resonable prices. It all depends on what you want. Check out Orange '72 , she had nothing in the front. Poor thing.

Thanks again. It is really hard to move that side of the car. And when I drive, I can feel every little bump in the road. Maybe it is the springs. I'm just having a hard week with the car. First the engine and now this.
