L28 EFI Conversion to SU's
Nope, not really. The only issue I have had was with the carb tuning. Once I figured it out the car ran fine. I would also get a electric fuel pump (around 7 psi) and a "prefilter". One that goes right after the gas tank, before the pump. This will help keep the pump clear of any unwanted debies. I have a lot of parts for the conversion if you don't already have them. As for the emmissions stuff and the canister, you can get rid of it. All you need are the carbs, fuel delivery, and maybe the studs to connect the intakes to the head. If I have left anything out, I'm sorry. You will want to look into getting the ZTherapy "Just SU's video". I did not have it, but it would have done away with a lot of hair pulling. :tapemouth Good luck with the conversion. If you need any help, I'm readily available. P.S. Might want to get an adjustable fuel pressure regulator, too.

Teardown
This is what is left after 7 hours of cussing and yanking. It seems like the engine had more than just one thing wrong with it. The head is still good and so are the Su carbs with the balance bar.

Snapped alternator adj. rod bolt in block...
I took apart the engine today to find more snapped bolts in the oil pump. This is really upsetting. So I am going to take all the 1 1/2 month old timing stuff and put it in the turbo engine. I will have pictures of the engine torn down posted soon. I just got the dang thing running. So, now I guess I can sell these really good SU carbs with air horns and the no smog balance bar, and all other stuff except the block. If you are interested, send me a PM. This will just give me motivation to look into stuff for my turbo engine. :devious: (seeing that the turbo is what I really want in the car)

Bryan, what are you saying? Your car looks great. You want to see some black primer, heh, look at my Z. I think she looks great for her condition. You should be proud!

Snapped alternator adj. rod bolt in block...
[The 2.8 N/A engine in the car, not the turbo] Yesterday I noticed that my oil guage was reading low, like it does most of the time. When it went to 0 and then past at 60mph, I had to check it out. I noticed that oil was leaking from the front timing cover. The top bolt that holds the alternator adjustment rod to the block was loose. As I was tightening the bolt it would get a little tight and then keep spinning. The bolt was snapped and fell out in my hand. The remaining part of the bolt is approximetly 1/4" out of the block, not the cover. I might be able to (when I pull the radiator, fan and timing cover) get it with vise grips, but I don't want to chance snapping it off and being out of luck with getting it out. Any advice in what to use? Should I tap the hole with a little bigger size bolt? This is so upsetting :hurt:

On Nurburgring, North Loop
This would be my all time wish. Does Nurburgring look almost like it does in the video games Gran Tourismo and Forza Motorsport? Just to be at the track would be awsome, let alone drive my Z on it. In what part of Germany is the track?

New CBS show will feature a '70 Z
NWClubsman, You beat me to it. I saw the preview the other night while I was watching CSI. The Z is Red and I hope they did not air it yet. I wounder if the show will have any info on the car. Would be interesting to see if any of it will be right.

MSA BRE rear spoiler-heads up
That is a damn shame. I was going to get my "BRE" spoiler, as most of my body parts from them as well. Who ever they have making the parts better wise up or make new molds. [idea.] Unless, we come together as a "club" and make parts ourselfs. We have a Headlight Wire harness maker, Clear covers for the headlights, Glove box, Some CF molders, A dashboard maker....I am sure we can figure out some other things. But, some of the almost unatainable parts are being made right here within our forum. It is just a suggestion. I, for one, don't like an over priced part with a Datsun sticker slapped on it that dose not fit.
