Well if you are not blowing blue smoke out the tail pipe, cannot smell oil and never need to add oil then it is carbon fouled it would seem.

Could you take a photo of your Pertronix coil (3ohm or 1.5ohm) wiring plus the resistor if you are using one. Also which Pertronix you purchased. I would like to look at that. I have installed 2 of those so far. One is on mine.

Check if the camshaft timing is correct while you are at it too. Like they say. California Datsun. You never know.

I was going to mention it could have a weak spark at the plugs but then I saw that one plug does not appear to be fouled. Confusing. If those valve oil seals were not snapped into place properly then they could let oil buy I think. An experienced engine and head builder should chime in if not already.

It kind of looks as though the valve seals are not doing their job. But I think you mentioned you replaced them. They can be tricky to seat properly.

He mentioned he would move it on to another venue. It will be hard to find a venue that has the traffic BaT has. It would have been very helpful it the underside was all removed cleaned and painted. All those bits looked pretty bad. And what can you say about the sunroof other than being a dealbreaker. Why did he even buy that car if he was just going to sell it? He must have had some wild idea he was going to flip it for a tidy profit. Big mistake.

How do you go about removing from car? Without damaging moulding or paint. Does one remove the door panel first?

I watched that video and it gives a good showing of how to replace them. I think I would shorten those staples if it were me. My door glass sure could use polishing from rubbing against the old hardened moulding.

I thought they put new stock springs on those Nissan restore program cars.

That looks to be a great combo you have of 3.54 and 5 speed. I have a 5 speed and both 3.9 and 4.11 R180's. I am thinking of going the route of a 3.54 myself. I am running too many RPM's on the highway for my liking.

I am sure you can contact Mecum to correct what is not correct. If they even care I guess.

The one shown without the ribs is the one sold by Datsun Comp back in the 70's. Made of FRP.

If that was an air cooled 911 or a 356, you are looking at $20-25K as it sits. But 240Z. A parts car. IMO.

Good grief. Don't use those aftermarket rocker arms. OEM only on these.

Now that I am looking at a blown up photo of that no. 4 plug, It for sure looks to be carbon fouled. I would like to see a photo of no. 4 with the valve cover removed. Cam, springs, retainers, lash pads, etc, just of no. 4. Cropped.
