My Cardomain site for my 260
I have seen you link to your site a few times. Looks like it is coming along nicely and glad you could finally get into that pit you built. SuDZ

original color
Was it like number 903? That is the color if i remember correctly mine was. Over the years it was painted slightly different greens but I want to go back to it's original color since I think it is different and looks really great. SuDZ

And length. If you were to see the underside here (that picture is huge, I will resize it tonight hopefully) you can see that they do not connect to one another. This is so it can go as wide or narrow as you need it which is nice because we had my brothers quad up on it to do some work and just pushed them closer together. Also on that picture look about half way up the ramp you see 4 bolts. You can take those out and slide it longer if needed. Mine right now is on the smaller setting so that it just takes up the space around the car so that I can still keep the bikes and barrels in the garage and shut the garage door down too. SuDZ

My Cardomain site for my 260
Floors would be a lot easier, not to mention a tranny. When we dropped a friends transmission in his Maxima and could barely get it out from under the car due to height restrictions I considered this even more. It is heavy duty though, it weighs in around 700 pounds. So if you need to move it much they do have castors that let you push the car around on the lift when it is on the castors. I might grab some so I can push the lift outside or what not when working during the summer for extra light or what not. I got the 74 in October of this year. I had wanted either a 240 or 260 for a long time but finding one that was either not already restored and 9 grand or 300 and a rust heap with no chance of coming back. I got mine for $900 from a guy who really liked Z's and used to have a 280ZX. He planned on working on it some but never happened. He did not have the tools or previous experience with cars. So he let it just sit until I found it in the local want ads and picked it up. What kind of condition was yours in when you found it? SuDZ

My Cardomain site for my 260
Sure. I was looking for a lift like this for a little while and finally decidedto go for it. Basicly I figured it was good because I can use it on my other cars and gives me a much more sturdy way of lifting the car than jacklifts all the time. It is a driveon lift that sits at about 22 inches or so off the floor. This is how high it is to the tires. So then figure the height from the tires to the underbody/etc for the actual height. This can vary car to car but gives me enough ehight that I can sit underneath the car while working or spin around easily on the creeper without hitting anything. I am about 6'1.5" so if your shorter you would really have no problem being able to sit/move underneath. I also like the fact that we can get more than one person under the car with no problem with it now. Good for when you need the extra hands of a friend or helper. It also puts the car at a nice height when working from outside the car too. For example when I was removing trim parts or tail lights everything is right in front of me. You don't have to stand hunch backed all day and have a stiff back. I can still reach everything in the engine fine too since it is at a nice comfortable working height. They have two packages you can get. The first one runs about $950 or so and is just the lift. I went for the $1200 package and it gets you a few extras. Basicly you get the options of powdercoating it (red as you saw in my pictures or another color of your choosing), drive on ramps that just give you a bit more height so you don't rub the nose of your car on the lift if your riding really low. I did not need them for my Z but nice to know they are there, some extra wheel chocks, and a center bridge which lets you put a jack on it so you can still raise then wheels off the lift if you want to do brake work or anything else where you want to remove the wheels. You can check out the website at kwiklift.com. They are a small shop of about three guys. When I called I spoke to the owner directly and he truly just loves cars. We were talking about Z's of new and old and then about some of his projects that you can see on the site like his Vette or his son's Nova. Really a nice guy. Any other questions? SuDZ

POR-15, Undercoating, and Rust Questions
Yeah I have been looking around on here a lot to get some ideas. I have also been looking at other places online for more help. For the tempature I figure when it is time I will break out the space heaters to get the garage up to proper heat and what not to be ready. SuDZ

POR-15, Undercoating, and Rust Questions
I just ordered the POR-15 starter kit today. I figure it will be a good way to get a feel for what and how much I will be needing of everything. Plus for 15 bucks it is not a bad way to start price wise either. Can't wait till the Z looks like it is making some _real_ process in the way of being brought back to life again. SuDZ

3 Z Garage
Hanging stuff from the ceiling really does give a lot of extra space that it does not seem like you would have otherwise. A good thing i did too was build a companrtment about two feet tall up near the ceiling that is about 5 feet wide or so. It sits in a corner but lets lots of things that don't get moved much have a home. It also puts it out of site and out of my way. SuDZ

Clutch Slave Cylinder
To answer a few of the questions... It is a '74 260Z. I did not do a bench bleed. How do you go about doing a bench bleed? Is there much more to remove from the MC to do the bleed that just undoing the rigid cable under neath and then the two bolts that hold it into the body itself? SuDZ

Clutch Slave Cylinder
Ok, I finally got the hose that I was waiting on to replace my clutch slave cylinder. I removed the old cylinder and hose and reconnected it with the new one. I had a few leaks that were taken care of when the hose was not connected tight enough. But now when I pump the clutch pedal it does not seem like anything is happening. The rod does not move that sticks out of the slave and no fluid seems to be leaving the resevoir. I am trying to figure out why this would be happening. Does anyone know of a reason? There does not seem to be leaks anywhere else now. SuDZ
