280zx Fever

my 280zx revs perfectally hard down on the pedal 3 seconds im at 6,000rpm cant wait to drive it

i can leave my 280zx for 1 week to 2 days and it starts up the same 3-4times spinning over broom

to my understanding i thought compreesion was determined on the pistons not the head unless one head a smaller chamber of course:)

beat this ! i had electric fender mirrors on my fairlady

theres no where i can adjust the idle is there ? I think i can rule out injector leak fuel pressue regulator works so that could be ruled out Air regulator ? ? Where or how could i test this ? And the cold start valve leak ?

Ok there is a 240z in a James Bond movie at the start on the beach cant remember the name though.. There is talk off a ZX-R or ZX Turbo in the bar in the Movie Rocky 3 There is a arse end off a 300zx Z31 or 280zx 2+2 in the movie Ghosts a ghost comes out the exhaust

I dont think i have the will power atm to under go such a project i mean if the dash was there i could work around the rest but from what ive heard its alot ! of work So im still after either 240z 260z complete car minus drive line or a 280zx shell or complete car know anyone with one ill just keep my head in the paper looking

isnt the 240z 2+2 and the 260z 2+2 the same shape ? the 2+2 is roof hump is more visable in the 280zx

Ok i tried taking off the smaller hose from the inlet manifold and the throttle body today. Made no differnce Couls something be worn out or not working ?

well rule of thmub you never put lighter oil then whats in it already

Yeah well there is a rocker cover gasket so if its broken when u put it back in it might leak a bit no real big problem

Im only interested in seeing what they are going for For the auto box im only going on by what i saw a 240z auto box go for $250 so i think mine being later model and in good condtion i should be able to get $300 but even if i get $200 for it i would be happy As for the engine personally i think its in damn good condtion so i dont think $700 is too high considering thats including every thing not just the bare block head and manifolds but i could be wrong

Also i may add i got a whole interior from HGS130 Fairlady Z if that would be of any value to sell or not as the dash is cracked but the dials are all good seats are fine etc

Ok finding a good shell is getting a little hard so ive thought about the idea of cutting my losses and selling what i have. These are some prices i have thought about but i dont know if im asking too much or not enough ? L28E - Recent Rebuild approx 2year ago at most. includes all sub systems etc air con compression and wiring loom and ecu - $700 3 Speed automatic - not too sure about this it works well but havent been anywhere to test it out - $300 R200 Diff - 3.54 ratio i think ? includes cv's and all mounting brackets etc and tail shaft - $300 Another thing is if i could even get this for them. So what you think ? too much not enough ? note all prices are in Australian Currency, so if your american x it by 0.6 to give estimate

I took off the top two bolts but havent had it apart from the manifold because i need a t bar to get in to reach the other bolts But yeah i will replace the gasket when i take it apart.

no real prep needed imo. make sure the oil aint gluggy besides that crank it over the cam should still have oil still on it.

low automatic transmission fluid is my best guess if not that the torque converter is on its way out

Craig, any of those turbo's any good ? or where they stuffed ?

Yep its definataly sucking air somewhere.. Taking off the oil cap does nothing it just spits out oil...

What i could do is get some scissors cut the front end off and get some sticky tape and tape it up to my car....
