Now here's a question for "Atomreflex". I, being a car stereo installer, have removed so many door panels in my life time, I've lost count. But in the process of all those removels, I've only had the same problem as you when the window is too damn hard to roll up. The question for you is......How hard is it to roll your windows up and down?? In my experience, you have to torque harder on the crank if the window assemble is out of alignment, needs to be greased, or even worse--needs to be replaced. And obviously, too much torque usually means premature breakage of the handle, stripping of gears and plain 'ol malfunction of the whole assembly. Dave.

All I did was remove the bulb and put in the new LED bulb The tach was alot brighter than normal and the speedo was a little brighter. I think that the green lenses in the speedometer need to come out in order for them to be as bright as I'd like. The tachometer was not it's ussual green color but more of a light blue color. Kinda baby blue if I had to choose a color. I did remove the green lense from the temp gauge some time ago but did not have a chance to instal an LED tonight to see the difference between lensed and unlensed with an led

I got the 10 white wide view LEDs in the mail today. I pretested them with a 12 volt converter. The result was interesting to say the least. Looking straight down on the bulb was brite as expected but got even bright as I tilted the bulb away from my face. It was brightest at about a 45 deg. angle. Looking straight at the side of the bulb was less brite than the top view but thats irrelavent in the gauge housings it will be going into. so I proceeded in removing one of the tachometer bulbs out and replacing it with a new LED bulb. but before I tested it by turning on the lights, I installed the second bulb into the tachometer. I turned on the lights to the first click and was THOUROLY HAPPY with the results. Inside my garage, with the lights on, it's hard to see my normal dash lights at all. even with the garage lights on, the new bulbs made viewing the tack a lot easier. End result..... I'm gonna replace all my regular bulbs with the NEW LED bulbs!! as soon as I figure out how to get my big hands back there and around all the wiring I have in my dash. I would deffinately recommend these for the 240Z or ANY Z car for that matter. They were $1.98 each and the sinle green LED was impressive as well. I'll let yopu know how it looks tomorrow when I make my way to the garage agin. here's the green led

I havent read the whole thing but what's the possibility that the hi beam switch is just bad? I know it may sound obvious and dumb but when it comes to Z cars, that's ussualy what the answer turns out being. Someone find the hi beam wire on his model of Z and let him know what wire to test or run power to to test it (+) or (-)? jm2cw Dave.
  5. I sold him my yellow Z that you've most likely seen in my gallery. I need the xmas money and the poor guy was breaking my heart. 3 years and it's detroyed in 1 failed turn of the steering wheel. He's parting it out to help pay for the yellow Z car. I gave him a hell of a deal that he could'nt refuse and it turns out that the parts needed on the yellow Z is exactly what he has ready to go on her. He'll have her on the road in no time at all. after he gets her running and over here, we're gonna instal the works on her. power windows, locks, shaved door handles and poppers, all the goodies a young man needs to truly enjoy the ride. Even if it's sitting still. Dave.
  6. It took me five tries and many letters to get a responce and get my Z registered on the list of Z owners. I personally just wanted to see my name up there with all the other 240Z owners. But it took a little effort on my part. It's not a regularly maintained site like CZC but the info is invalueble when it comes to Z car history. Keep trying Arne. Bryan, I understand the whole "viability" issue but as long as the site is still there and accessable, I would'nt worry about it too much. Dave.
  7. Don't get me wrong guys. I totaly agree with the idea of letting people know where they are so they can be saved. Hell, I don't like 280's as much as 240's but if I had the chance and funds, I'd be all over that blue and white 280Z in a heartbeat. Dave.
  8. And you left it there WHY???? Just can't stand to see that kind of thing, I hope this thread don't go to far. No offence but we love Z cars. WE don't wanna see 'em that way unless you're gonna save her from utter doom. She looks like she's got plenty of good parts left. JM2CW Dave.

They look exactly like what I wanted to do but better. I was thinking of a 2 flap design (similar to the 3 arm but wider) ----0---- I like 'em, and the look like a good alternative to the usual clump of LEDs that you normally see. EDIT*** I just looked at the price and there's no way in hell I'd pay $50 a peice. That's $300 for 6 lights in the rear. NOOOO Dave

Too much light can be a bad thing too. My Replay Sirius receiver is ok in the day but way distracting at night. Jay AKA zdisease Luckily, Z cars come with a dimmer switch under the dash
  15. not likely but you never know around here, (my place) I'll try again in a minute to see if it was a fluke or something
  16. I just wrote up a reply to "interesting light" thread started by Tomohawk andnothing seems to be working. I got an email saying that someone else had reply'd to it and it is'nt there either. What's up Mike. Or is it just my POS computer. There should be about 12 or 13 posts and there are only 10. did the server freeze?

Then I guess it's a good thing that Z cars come with a dimmer under the dash.

OK OK you've peaked my interest in the whole dash light thing again......... Here's what I found on the site that BD240Z posted. The BA9S W WV look to be the best for out dashlights. It has a 100 deg. viewing angle and is 11,200 mcd brite. Just like the LED's I use in my LED taillights. Low draw and wide angle with the correct bulb style..........sounds like a winner so far
  19. anyone, Bueler, Bueler, he's sick today. give me a buzz and Name a good Price.

  22. That's nothin, the carbon fiber cowl hood is almost an even $1000
  23. Unless you have another set other than the ones in the yellow Z, I'd hold off on that statement. The seat belts are in decent shape but there may be some rust. I'll double check tomorrow.

  25. Ian, I have an original 70' air box that came with MY Z. if you find a buyer, I'll deduct that price from the final sale. Roughly I'm saying sell my air box for me and that price will be off the car. When you finally come over, you can look at a couple other things I have laying around the garage. Like decent shape hub caps, my airbox, and many other unmentionables. Dave. P.S. It's the one with a solid intake whole (no summer/winter flap) http://www.classiczcars.com/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=6899&cat=500&ppuser=4921
