  1. ARNE!!!! Did you seriously just advise ME on the workings on an automotive relay???????? :stupid: :stupid: :stupid: Just kiddin. I haven't even had the time to look into it but I'm sure you hit it on the nose. Dave.
  2. Got ya! I'm looking into it and will post here at the first sign of success. Dave
  3. NO problem Joel, I'm glad we cleared this up. I accept and please read the next E-mail That I just sent you. Sincerely, Dave. P.S. Enigma was right again, how does he do it?
  4. I'd love to post the next letter I just got from him but the software on here would "bleep out" all the language. Here is the picture he sent me before the taillights were sent. It clearly shows NO reflector in the reverse light housing. In the second picture of the finished housing. you'll also see that the reflector is STILL not there. Who's full of crap now? Thanks =Enigma= Dave.
  5. Are you mental or something? YOU CUT the reverse light socket off, not me. I NEVER removed ANY reflectors nor did I cut your wires. As a matter of fact, both me AND my wife were wondering why YOU would cut off the socket to a bulb housing that normally gets refurbished. I'm sorry that you feel the need to blame me for your shortcomings when the ONLY thing that you paid me to do was make L.E.D. plates for your 260Z tail light housings. I Made the plates, loaded them with LED's, Mounted them and even threw in the bulb adaptors that I Normally charge more for. You're welcome. I'd be happy to send you a socket and some reflective plates for a 260Z IF I had some around, but I don't!! This is the part of the letter where I would normally thank you for your business, but after your beautiful letter, you can bite me. I don't know where you got the housings, but I would start looking there for your missing items. Dave. P.S. Ask any one who has recieved tail lights or harness's from me, I DON'T **** up orders. I FIX THEM!! I IMPROVE ON THEM!! I DO EVERYTHING POSSIBLE TO MAKE MY CUSTOMERS HAPPY! Next time you order a repair or ANY upgrade from ANYONE, TAKE PICTURES FIRST. Not only will it help prove your case, but you'll also see exactly what the improvement was. Have a nice day, Dave.
  6. Most likely tomorrow, I got the LED's in today and started assembling the plates. I'm not ignoring you, I promiss. It's been real busy around here and Trust me when I say that your e-mail is only 1 of about 50 that I've had to respond to. I need to finish soldering them and they're out the door. I am truly sorry for the loooooong delay but I order my LED's from www.besthongkong.com and they decided to take their sweet fricken time about getting my order to me. (about 1 month) Look for them in the mail soon. I ship USPS Express Mail. 2-3 day and they're going out on thur. Dave
  7. I was 1 of 3 Z's in the show and one of the others was a Scorpian ZCar. (a Ferrari body kit on a 260Z shell)
  8. Never got a photo that did'nt have people looking at the car. Maybe thats a good thing?
  9. I was the only 240Z there. No other Datsuns in the show.
  10. I also have a set of flat tops. But I'd have to remove the chain after pulling them from the water. Who'da thunk you could use my boat ankers as carbs for a 260Z? :stupid:
  11. No problem there, I've lost at least a good pint over the last three years thanks to my Z. And The yellow 71' has opened it's fair share of wounds. Hell, I'm pretty sure that some of the skin, from my knuckles, is still attached to the car in various places. I'm also sure that in 200 years, when they dig up my grave site and find the red 70' 240Z there instead of me, they'll be able to clone me from the skin and blood that will still be on the car from me working on it. :stupid: Oh ya, it definately mine.
  12. It took two weeks to make the engine compartment look that way. Not to mention three plus years of hand polishing and painting. With my budget, everything is a "one day at a time" process. Thanks guys, Some of that red Anadizing is actually blood Dave.
  13. I used to have 5 fusd items on the battery. I've reduced it to 3. the 4th fuse on the right is a spare. The blue anadized items are from my S.S. braided hose kit from"Specter"?
  14. or you can do it this way.............
  15. Mine aren't nearly as pretty but they do stand out a little. Nice carbs (Pop's Z), wanna trade?
  16. red anadize paint from Dupli-color, Carbs rebuilt and clearcoated
  17. MSD 6A, Mallory Unilite dist, Mallory promaster coil, MSD tach adaptor and wiring was redone.
  18. redone and polished water neck with red anadizing paint
  19. New power dist. block helps clean up all the wiring mess from too many accesories
  20. pass. side view, ready for a car show.
  21. New ceramic-coated header, rebuilt carbs, repainted engine compartment, radiator, fuel lines and every thing else
  22. Two words...."five Speed" Just keep in mind that a manual tranni allows for more exhaust and header options. Even if you're trying to keep it stock.
  23. not sure on the 280Z but it's usually like this... Black is ground Green w/ white stripe is parking lights Green/red is turn signal If there are three wires, one is ALWAYS a ground. One is parking light (turn on the parking light and find that wire. You get the idea. Wiring is pretty damn basic, even in a 76'. Just use the "process of elimination" Hope that helps, Dave.
  24. Like Ma always said, "if you don't like the answer, don't ask the question" Keep in mind that attitude is EVERYTHING. If your attitude sucks, so will the answers. Patiences are a virtue around here and if you don't have patiences, you're driving the wrong car. You get more bee's with honey than vinegar JMO
  25. follow that high beam wire from the engine compartment into the car. Follow it al the way to the switch. Double check the output side (hi beam) of the switch. Remember that an ohms meter is your best friend. It can only be 1 of 2 things. The switch or the wire. Wire, you can replace or run new. Switches--work or don't work, can be fixed or replaced. It's a simple problem that just takes a little time. One of us has your switch if you need a replacement. At least you're in the right place for answers and parts. Dave.
