  1. Bought it off my brother. He does'nt have time for it.
  2. I'm gonna head out this morning and get more supplies. I'll also be ordering the othe supplies for for future orders. My supplier is already trying to up his prices but after informing him that I had NO problem taking my business else where, He changed his mind. I seem to be one of the few people even buying these connectors from him. If you or any one you know would like a parking light harness, Please feel free to contact me at any time with your order or questions. @ wolfin32z@yahoo.com I check my mail at least 6 times a day and reply to messages as soon as time permits. Dave.
  3. When you watch the damn ref give the game to the other team, where is enthusiasm supposed to come from after that. Hard to play the game when the ref has you bent over on the first quarter. When Madden (The top-gun of rules, plays and calls) said, he did'nt understand some of the calls that were made, You know somethings wrong. I don't even like football!!! But I'm sure that there were even Steelers fans that knew that T.D. was crap. JM2CW Dave.
  4. I'd say un-neccesary do-dad. The ring connectors take up very little space and thats a good thing when it comes to the space available near the positive post on a Z. If your gonna do something like that, I'd say go with a "remote power terminal" You connect a heavy guage wire to the (+) post then run it over to a distribution block that allows for connection to the positive without having to load up on top of the battery. It's a little safer but only needed if you have a lot of things (accessories) going to the battery. Dave.
  5. I have a wife and FIVE, we agreed that she was'nt the only one with "baggage". I pretty much told her that every once in a while, I would need to spend time on "the mistress". I told her that she was more than welcome to join me at any time while working on the car, But I refuse to make a choice between her and the car. Needless to say, She's learming a whole new trade, learning tool names and functions, and keeping the hot coffee coming when ever my cup gets low. She loves the Z and loves riding in the "mistress" even more. We got a good thing, as long as I keep my D1CK out of both of their "tail pipes", she'll let me keep "her" in the garage. My wife LOVES the videos by the way. She said I'm NOT allowed to get the Z to that point. Dave.
  6. Just letting you guys know that I have gotten a few more orders than expected and ran out of supplies. I'll order them on monday and should be able to have the harness's in the mail by late wed. or thursday. Bart Evans, I got your order and wanted to throw in a little extra "THANK YOU VERY MUCH" I'll get that to you as soon as possible. And P.S. I don't think that you'll actually go Blind by the brightness of your lights after the install. Just wear some sun glasses. You'll be ok! I promise. Gary Saling, Your second harness will go out the door as soon as Barts does. Both of you are "repeat" customers and I wanted to say thank you again, Having repeat customers means I must be doing something right. Dave.
  7. Some one forgot to mention where the turn signal flasher IS. It's over on the upper passenger side kick panel. The emergency flasher is heavy duty (like Enrique said) because it is flashing all 4 corners at once, where as the turn signal flasher only flashes 2 lights at a time. By "europa" model, I'm guesing you mean the U.K. version. There is not very many changes between the two of them (U.S.A verses U.K.) so the colors are vertually the same. Like Arne said, 4-way flasher is Blue/white and Green/white and the book says 1 green and 1 white for the turn signal flasher.
  8. Actually, I used a 5/16" ring (bigger than 1/4" and smaller than 3/8") Cut the ring in the outer most middle and open it a little. You'll get the same contact. It's not a real high current system, so don't worry too much about it hurting the performance. Glad to hear you got it, let us know when it's in and how it works for ya. Dave. zhead240 let me know when u get my M O. mailed it jan 26. Sorry bout that Patrick, I did get it and I already shipped both of your harness's TODAY. "Should be there in 4 to 7 days" (thats what the lady at the Post office said. I also shipped out harness's for....... Bryan Ray, 2 harness's on the way. Gary Saling, 1 harness on the way. Gary DeVon, 2 harness's on the way. Bryan Toews, 1 harness on the way. Thanks for your orders guys. Jim and Juan, Yours should be out early next week, Dave.
  9. I still have them for sale if anyone is interested. I'm looking at less than a 1 week turn around. Still waiting for some previous customers comments on the Parking light harness. I need to know these things. Dave.
  10. I thought about that and heres the problem.... 1) The only place in the middle of the center console was where my choke is or where my rear defrost switch is. I like my rear window heater and need my choke so those were out of the question. 2) The other "center" area has metel directly underneath it (trans hump) and I was not about to cut that or have the wires to the switch going out side the car. 3) Everything in front of the shift boot has a purpose and I was'nt going to cut a perfect ashtray or fuse block cover for the sake of 2 small switches. 4) I wanted to be able to reach her side with ease and have her be able to reach my side as well. (mission succesful) My center console has a break on the passenger side from the P.O. the switches are deep and I have to hide the wires from the plugs that plug into the switches, and ALSO have a flat surface to mount the switch holders. The ONLY possible place to put the switches and not destroy the integrity of the car was on the sides of the center console. They actually blend in very nice (they have the same texture as the console) But thanks for the compliment and your input,:classic: Dave.
  11. Finished all the wiring and install last night. Thankfully, I had already drilled the two holes for the wires when I put in speakers, actuators, and the L.E.D. for my alarm. It works great!!! easy up and down, nice and quiet, and no more reaching for the window handle. I even replaced the old door lock actuators with some new "slim line" Compact actuators.
  12. The kit comes with cups that cover and hide the assembly. you can see them in the picture below on the middle right. There are three sizes for different lenght shafts. unfortunately you have to widen the hole to fit the new cups. They are black and blend in real nice.
  13. Here are the pics of the motor after a couple of different angles. All strapped in and now for the window crank area. I also triple checked for clearance issues and speaker fitment and interference. All works beautifully............
  14. What do you mean by "window winder"? If your talking about the window handle or crank, You nicely put it in a box after cleaning and set it aside for who ever wants to pay the most...... If you're talking about the black "T" shapes handle in the first picture, That goes in the glovebox for emergencies. The kit has many depth options on the gear drive adaptors long one for long shafts or mid or short (I used the shortest one) Here are the first pictures..
  15. My windows are great! I pull the door panels every once in a while and keep every thing greased up. The kit I'm using is the "Deluxe" kit. It it's quieter and stronger than the usual kit. Thats why it's $20.00 more. I'm a true believer in "you get what ya pay for" so I opted for the the deluxe kit. :paranoid: Still waiting on U.P.S. Dave.
  16. I'm only 5'6" and 135 lbs. I don't have the required capacity for the amount of smoke they're trying to blow up my a$$. Makes me wonder why I pay more to have it shipped thru them. OH YEAH, maybe they think I have money to burn and all the time in the world. RIIIIIIGHT!!
  17. The kit that I am getting, eliminates the window crank. No cutting, welding or ripping into the door. I can remove the kit and put everything back to stock when I'm done, with the exception of the door panel. Which only has to have the hole for the window crank, hogged out a little for a snap-on cap. The P.W. kit uses small gears that attach to the window crank rod, which requires the removal of the handle. I have installed this kit in a 240Z before but did not document it. Here is a picture of the kit.....and the switches.....
  18. nope. I get all my 12volt aftermarket stuff from a company called "the Right Connection" (TRC). I use a lot of "SPAL" electronics. My power door locks ($4.00 each), power windows, and 11 lb. hatch pop($9.00 each) are all SPAL or similar. I only pay $109 for the P.W. kit and $23 for the whole wire harness and 2 illuminated switchs kit. it even come with switch pods. you'll see later. $132.00 ain't bad for power windows in a 70' Z. If I can get it down to a science, I'll offer it to friends and other local Z owners. I love putting impossible stuff into impossible cars. I have a full alarm w/ keyless entry, starter kill, hatch pop, hood, hatch, and door pins, light flash, shock and proximity censors, and 2 sirens under the hood (tucked under the area in front of the Battery and washer fluid bottle. But the nice thing is that you can't see hardly any of it or the wires. I take great pride in my wiring so you don't see it or it looks stock when I'm done. I get all my stuff at whole sale or cost, I'm cheap that way. Besides, it saves you guys money as well. Dave.
  19. Funny enough, as I'm getting ready to write this up for you guys, I see some one has one on doing power windows in a (240K). I'm going to do a full spread (with pictures and step by step stuff) on power windows in a 240Z. "Why" you ask? 1) Cause when I'm buckled up (seatbelt) into my 70' 240Z, There is NOOO reaching the passenger side window without almost causing an accident. 2) When it's hot outside and you don't have the luxury of A.C, It'll be nice to hit the switch and roll down the window. 3) It'll get me browny points with the Wife, cause she too has trouble getting to the handle when she is buckled in. (if she's happy, I'm happy) 4) I CAN'T POSSIBLY BE THE ONLY ONE HERE (classiczcars.com) WHO WANTS POWER WINDOWS IN A 240Z. So over the next few days, I will post progress and Pictures of the install. It's pretty bad when it takes me longer to post and develope pics and tell all the "how-to's" then it does to put in the whole kit and wiring. AS soon as U.P.S. shows up with my wire harness supplies and power window kit, I'll start the project. More details to follow and also..... What do you guys think about power windows in (a) or (your) early model Z??? Dave.
  20. SO MUCH FOR THAT B.S. UPS failed to show up again!!!! Those F%$#@ :tapemouth guys are going to get an ear full from me. I know you guys keep telling me not to worry or be in a big hurry but I ABSULUTELY HATE being made out to be a liar. I tell you guys info according to what I'm told, then I get bent over and told "oops, It won't be there for another day" which makes me look like a liar, then I have to apologize to those of you who were expecting to put your haness's in this weekend. Hell, if I was told that I should have it by friday, It damn well better be here by friday cause I would most likely make pans to put it in on that SAT. See what I mean? Sorry, Just had to vent a little:tapemouth Dave.
  21. did all of the 4 sets (L+R) 2 per side) come with the metal sleeve? I have the Energy Suspension kit and you'll probably find that alot of us here have the same kit. This may sound dumb but there are two halves and a metal sleeve for each of the holes on the outer control arm. If you have all 8 bushing halves and all four sleeves, and they allow the spindle pin to move around in any direction other than in and out or twisting, SEND THEM BACK!!!! Don't even attempt to put them in if they are even a little loose. Just remember that the outer part of the control arm takes the fullgrunt of torque from the wheels. And if it's even a little loose, Your asking for trouble. JMO Dave. P.S. put a nice light coating of anti-sieze on the spindle pin, if you ever decide to remove it yourself in the future with minimal force (to your wallet)
  22. Just letting those of you know that I'm on my way out the door to make some deliveries. YEAH!! I SHOULD get my parts order in, and that will allow me to finish the rest of the orders that I have in so far. Dave
  23. Never mind, I was having a "Pilati" moment. Your talking about piggy backing the parking light harness's power wire onto the headlight harness's power wire. Essencially, They both use the bolt on the batteries positive terminal. But keep this in mind, the PLH's fuse and wire go behind the battery and are almost unseen, where as the headlight harness's power wire goes towards the front of the car and runs along the battery wire that goes towards the battery, until you get to the frame, then it goes forward and into the relay pack on the V.R. Hope that helps, Dave.
