  1. hers a few crappy ( hate my fricken camera) pictures of my nissan/datsun models that I've built over the years.
  2. There once was a company called "Datsun" Whose idea's were up there with Watson (Sherlock) when a quick order came in the techs were in like Flynn scratching there heads they said "you want it dat soon?" DW.
  3. try this out. I've done auto security for 15 years and python and are the best Dave. directed electronics
  4. They're both beautiful in there own way. Lines, curves, power, handling, etc, etc, they both stand out in an era that screams "look at me, look at me". The 240Z, even 33+ years later, exhudes quality, style, power and class. A simplistic engine that is easy to work on, easy to upgrade, and true engineering above the rest at the time it was designed. Yes, the 350Z is heavy, a crap load of emissions, heavy steel and plastic will do that to a car. When it first came out, Jaws were dropping, eyebrows were raising, and grins were ear to ear. No, it's not a 240Z. Its 33 years later and you can never go home again. People, styling, engineering, and the pure and simple thought of how things should be, have changed. Soooo..... Like it, love it, or leave it. IMO we all love some part, if not all of the original 240Z. Some of like or love some part, if not all of the new 350Z. We're all intitled to our opinions. I LOVE MY 240Z, I really like the new 350Z, Hell, I might even buy one some day. but until then, I'll stick with what I know and love, Datsuns and Nissans. Thats it. Dave.
  5. Hey Carl, this should help you a little bit ( if the $%#@ picture works)
  6. I just looked at mine and I'm half tempted to unscrew it Just to find out if it's oil or water. If it's oil, I might run an oil pressure guage from there instead of the other side.
  7. I'm not sure if this one will come out or not on the scanner And YES, this is a model.
  8. I found out I can scan the car, Its almost done. the exhaust is on the work bench being modified as a 3" instead of the stock 2 1/4". and yes I even paint the bolts on the oil pan.
  9. and since I have already had my drive for the day, I'll be inside working on the model today why is there no snow on the car? YES, I went out and played, I could'nt help myself.
  10. they are all out of focus cause of the camera. sorry
  11. my P.O.S. camera won't let me take close ups of the motor It has spark plug wires, light blue oil filter, did the starter like mine, and the same metalic blue highlights as the one out side. but the under side of the car is almost done...
  12. Go to Ebay through the link then enter "datsun 240z " in the search box. you'll find ZENON H4 7" headlight conversion kits for as little as $20.00 and butt loads of other cool stuff. Have fun Dave. EBAY
  13. If you convert the whole system to L.E.D. you'll want to swap the thermal for an electronic blinker because of the lack of proper resistance in the now new system. And there is also plenty of zenon headlights on e-bay I'll find the link and post it for you guys.
  14. as for mine, they keyed it to the primer and the cut is up to 1/8" wide a certain points. I used to work in a hi-end body and detail shop, so I know there is no quick fix, unfortainately.
  15. and the side of the box w/ optional decals hope this helps. Dave.
  16. This is for owenk, I found it at the local craft store, right under the 240Z I found their (and bought a.s.a.p.) The maker is Revell, the model # is 85-2377 1:25 scale and I believe it to be a 1970 PL/510 Dave revell-monogram
  17. I'll post a few pics as I go, thanks for the tips guys. you never know what your getting into till ya build it. And yes, I already noticed the exhaust problem and have plans for it. I just find it difficult to built, knowing the Z like I do, and seeing that Its so far from being accuret? as far as duplicating goes. but I guess I'm just being picky. pictures tomorrow. Dave.
  18. It'll take me a few weeks to paint and assemble. I'm gonna do it up the same way that my real Z will look like when done. Best $10 I ever spent.
  19. they also had a 1970? pl/510 right under the Z box. should I have grabbed it for 13 bucks??
  20. and here's the Matchbox car I got from Mom, Bad pic Sorry.
  21. Ain't she pretty? One of my boys got a nascar model for X-Mas and no glue. So I go to the craft store to get some glue for him and just for the hell of it I look over at the model cars, to see what they have in stock. And I'll be damned if my red 1970 240Z is'nt staring me in the face. So I grab it off the shelf and look for a price tag, $10.00, Can you believe it???? I always here of the fairlady models ( w/ the mirrors on the fender and RHD) but I'd never seen a plain ol' 70' 240Z on ANY shelf, And I look, alot. So today I feel Lucky, and I also got a Muscle Machines (1/64)th scale matchbox 240Z from my mom of all people. Gee, DO YA THINK THEY kNOW ME OR WHAT??? Heres the box....
