Sounds more like a loose connection. If the fuses are bad or loose, they'll either blow or overheat. Check your fuses, pull them and clean and squeeze the fuse clamps for a better connection. You might have to pull the bulb agan and double check the connections. If the relay is bad, it usually won't Off and On like that, they usually just quit.

As far as I can gather, it's on March 28th? At the Golden Gardens Park in Seattle, WA. Here's a video from 08'?? I think... There's some CZCC members at 5:27 on the video. And another from last years. We're starting at 3:37. you'll also see Dwayne's 240Z next to my 70' and Tony's red 240Z on the other side of mine. And they finish the video with Tony driving her 240Z away. good finish..

Nah, just checking the headings before I hit the sack. Flat boarded the 260Z's roof today and I'm shot, pooped, tired, exhausted, etc, etc. C ya'll tomorrow. Dave

I hear ya brother, I'm 30 miles north of Seattle and Ballard, in Marysville (4 miles North of N. Everett) Seattlites, don't forget to have your Z's ready for Golden Gardens in Mid to late March.. Inmocean is a hop and a skip away from it. Welcome one and all. If you guys are ever up North, Me and Z_Tyler_Z get together almost every Saturday to work on HIS car. Cause mine runs fine. Dave

The things i would be interested in would be: - some body parts (hatch / just below the hatch on body) Yes - electrical such as the windshield wiper assy No on the motor, Yes on the linkage assembly. The 260Z has intermittent wipers and the 72 didn't, motor is not spappable. and ignition assy... Wiring NO, actual assembly (key and mechanical stuff) Yes - some glass Yes to all the glass - interior panels and trim almost all of it - and i was wonder how much of the suspension is... Diff and mustache bar, lower control arms, Everything in between the strut assemblies, **Strut tubes are a different length and require different strut inserts than the 240Z as well as springs** The 260Z is a heavier car and the suspension was designed to make up for it, if your swap the whole suspension, the 240Z may ride higher than stock. There's a start. Dave
  7. I stand corrected on the front bar. And you're dead on about the "Pre" hitting of something, like my garage door, twice...... Better the bar than my new hood, again.... Dave
  8. The moved it to the park for many reasons. The event kept getting bigger and bigger and space did not allow for it. The Park is out of the way, away from constant traffic, less issues with city ordinances dealing with permits, distractions ectc. The park also allows for a wider split of Models (Z, ZX, S30, S130, Z31, Z32 etc.) I've been at both locations and the park is far superior to the hot black top of dissorganized chaos. If it's not at the park or a similar area, I would seriously rethink my driving 1200 miles to park on the street again. Dave

Leave the wheel on, leave the Ebrake cable on, Apply the ebrake with the wheel on the ground. Use a BFBbar (Big Fricken Breaker Bar) go at it. If the Strut assembly is off the car, bolt a wheel to the studs, have 2 people stand on the wheel on a rough surface (driveway) and try the BFB again. Also, make sure that the Bent tab of the nut is not bent into the flat spot of the stud. This will hamper your abilities to break it loose. Dave
  10. They had no real protection for the Z's so you could call it a Decorative item. No real purpose other than 70's "Bling" If you like 'em, instal one. If you don't, don't. Pretty cut and dry. Dave

  12. That's kinda what I was thinking, so I just called them. I know the number by heart so it was no big deal to reach over and hit a few buttons and ask the obvious. Gary was on the line with another customer but Jay fired out an answer quick enough. Don't worry, every once in a while, I like a smart a$$ remark. Still giggling over here. Dave

Any one??? I (we) could use a little more help on this. I don't typically do Fuel injected motors so I'm standing here scratching my head on this one. Please help us figure this out. Dave
  14. And I think I'm gonna go with the Triple 40DCOE's that came out of the 240Z. Maybe they'll work better on a motor that doesn't have 50 lbs of pressure per piston like the 2.4. I really need to rebuild the 240 motor in the near future.
  15. 70' 240Z (got it) 74' 260Z (got it) Black Pearl 280Z 83' 280ZX Turbo 96' 300ZX Twin Turbo 2010 370Z Only because I won't be able to afford my Murcielago, 07' Ford GT, or my Saleen S7 anytime in the near future. Unless the Lotta pays off real soon.
  16. I tried everything. I compared pics on eBay, MSA and anywhere else I could find both products. The only thing I can see is the metal sleeve and I don't recall removing one from the 260Z on Teardown. Good idea Steve, I'll just get the 240Z one at $6.50 and try it out. This is the rubber boot that goes on the firewall from the pedal to the pivot arm. I don't remember seeing a difference but $10 between the 2 says there IS one. Dave
  17. What am I missing here? What is the difference between the 2 throttle linkage boots on the 240Z and 260Z? The best I can tell is that 260/280Z boot has a "Metal Sleeve" What is the sleeve for and does it matter? I ask because I'm trying to finish up a few details on the firewall of the 260Z (early) and am seriously confused on the 2 boots. Does it matter that I have an Early 260Z? Can I use a 240Z style boot? From MSA's "Underhood Rubber" page......... Throttle Boot, 70-73 Z Code:34-1201 Price: $6.47 Throttle Boot, 74-78 260Z-280Z Code:34-1203 Price: $18.40 Thanks in advance guys, Dave
  18. Kinda hard to see them amongst the crap on the floor, but you can see that they stock 260Z calipers are a Dual piston like the 240Z's and pale in comparison to the 4-piston Toyota calipers. in the second picture, you can kinda see the caliper under the control arm Hope that helps, I don't have a side-by-side as I shipped them off to the auto parts store for the Core charge. The only thing you need is the S12-8 calipers, your rotors and rebend your hardlines, as they are obviously in different locations on the calipers compared to the datsun calipers. Dave
  19. Damnit Gary, I didn't help you fix your 240Z only to have you peak interest in another brand of car. WTH? Just kiddin. Did ya stop forcing the stalk yet? Dave
  20. That's a fuel tank vent line coming from the rear, The vaccum line going to the brass? block allows the tanks vent line to feed back into the intake for an emissions to deal. Leave the rear vent line attached to the block, block off (gold tee?) the crank case line. Also check the Vaccum line to the booster for leaks, etc. Dave
  21. What Arne said, and to add to it, there is also a washer on top of the urethane, between the body and the urethane. You can see it on the second picture I attached in post #3.
  22. Which part? Everything? or the last line? Dave
  23. I'm confused on the space you're talking about. Here's a before and after. (Rubber than Urethane) Dave

Double check the 2 headlight fuses in the fusebox. That's the only thing I can think of that would cause one to be dimmer than the other. Also check the connection at the white round connectors that go to the headlights. Dave
  25. I'm not that old but even I remember the old Pepsodent slogan. it was for their "New Formula" back in 48"?? My grandpa used to hum it when he was in the bathroom, and I HAD to ask what the humming was about. So he sang it to me. Good times, good times. Dave
