  1. couple things, The more orders I see (on here or thru E-mail or P.M.'s) the more parts I'll order and harness's I'll make. But I need to know the "want" before I try and fill the "needs" A little reminder, They are $37.00 and that also covers S/H costs. And for those of you who have written me asking for a little something on the side (wink. wink.) I can only make them when I have the funding.:ninja: Dave.
  2. These should also help a little. They are the unpublished pics that go to the unwritten instructions that I'm working on.
  3. 53'' divided into 2 is 26 1/2". One half of the 53" (26 1/2) goes from the relay pack to the first headlight plug and the second half of the 53" goes from the right headlight plug to the left headlight plug. Hope that helps, I keep meaning to finish those damn instructions. I'll get to it as soon as I can. Dave.
  4. I'm off to town tomorrow to get a butt-load of parts for the parking light harness's and then I'll start making 'em like wild fire. Why? you ask. Cause I love you guys!! Dave
  5. unfortunately, It sounds like the 280Z plug is a 10-pin plug, Not a 6-pin like I would need it to be. I'll have to do some serious research on that one to even start on making one. Thanks anyways:( Dave.

What is that? Four TD's so far? I think some ones on a role.........

    Make That 2 (17-to -zip)
  8. the only thing you have to do to the car is put a wire thru a rubber boot, bolt a wire to the positive terminal, mount a relay with a stock bolt, and remove one plastic panel and put it back on after you have made a connection to the headlight switch. That's it, I designed it with you and the sanktity of your Z in mind. Dave.

One other thing... The last time I had a problem with my turn signals, it was'nt the switch but rather the hazard switch. The back had come loose and the contact were having trouble making a connection. Turn signals usually run through the hazard switch, so also keep that in mind. Dave
  10. My Z is a 70' but it has a later model tranni in it. After I put it in, it would also jump out of 1st and 5th until............. I trimmed the sheet metal where the shifter comes through and I'm still able to use the stock boot. Usually your rubber boot wiggles it out of gear. Most likely an easy fix. Also check you shifter bushings for wear. Excess vibration from worn bushings can also cause it to "jump out of gear" JM2C, Dave.

I'm gonna guess and say that you have an early 260Z? (from your other posts) If any one else can tell me if the turn signal switch from a 73' 240Z is the same as the 6/74' 260Z, I might have a rebuilt T/S switch for you at a very fair price. Dave.
  12. P.S. If any one has access to both 240Z's and 260Z's or even a 280Z and can compare the 240z's headlight switch's 6-pin plug to that of the 260 and 280z, I'll bet I could expand the parking light harness to that area. The main thing I'm looking for is "where the green wire w/ a blue stripe and the green/white stripe wires are located in comparison to the 240Z's headlight switch 6-pin plug. Any help would be greatly appreciated by more than just me. Thanks in advance, Dave.
  13. No worries Will, I do it all the time. (read to fast):stupid: Dave.
  14. I built the first few with my own money, so I can't have more in stock until I start seeing some funding my way. Thanks for all the P.M.'s. The sooner you order, the sooner I can order parts for the harness's. I have a couple made up at the moment.
  15. Sorry for the inconvenience but They charge me to use it and it's easier to cash a money order and not have it show up on my I.R.S Audit.
  16. Here are the instructions that I wrote up in a hurry, for the new harness. Did I miss anything? Dave
  17. Hey Arne, If anybody feels for ya, It's me. Mean while, check this out......... http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/showthread.php?p=159565#post159565 And one other question for you. Are any of the two plugs that you see on the picture I posted, the plugs you are looking for??? If so, I might have a real good lead on 'em.
  18. Got it and responded. Thanks in advance, Dave.
  19. I am now selling the "Parking Light Upgrade Harness" that was mentioned earlier this month. After a lot of research and as far as I can tell, It will work on all 240Z's. If the 260Z or 280Z's headlight switch's plug are anything like the 240's, the new harness might even work for them as well. not sure yet. I'll do some more research on the 260 and 280Z's, but for now, I'm ready to take and recieve orders. And now for the final price, which has the S/H included in said price. After ordering, TAX, assembly labor and every thing else I put into these harness's, the final price is....... $37.00 inside the lower 48 states. The price will obviously be higher if I have to ship it over borders or oceans. If this price seems too high, consider the following supply list and prices I pay to make the harness, The kit includes... 7.5 ft of black 12 ga. wire ($1.00)(black blends and looks more stock than red) 1 fuse holder with a 15 amp fuse ($1.50) (for safety) 1 30/40 automotive relay ($3.00) 1 relay socket ($0.75)(makes changing the relay easier and less confusing) 2 OEM style 6 pin sockets (1 male ($5.00) and 1 female ($5.50) 16 new solid brass terminals (aprox. $0.40 each) totaling ($6.40) 1 simple page of instructions For a total of $23.15 in parts, and thats not even including tax or labor or shipping. I will also post installation sheet on this forum so people can see how easy it is to install. MONEY ORDERS ONLY!!!!! I Don't want to use my paypal cause it's a pain in the azz and cost too much to use, So DON"T Paypal me!!!! I generally use Priority Mail from U.S.P.S. Please remember to CLEARLY print your return address so I know who to send it to. I'm looking at about a 1 week turn-around (which means about 1 week from the time you put your money order in the mail to the time you recieve your new harness) Make out and send your ($37.00) money orders to me (David W. Irwin) at.. David W. Irwin 6421 105th St. N.E. Marysville, WA. 98270 Here is a picture....

Look at the inside for 3 pedals (manual) or 2 pedals (automatic) Check the cente console for sings of a boot (manual) or shifter plate (automatic) Good luck, Dave.
  21. Ya, I fixed it for the moment. I'm going to get another hood and go ape on it and make it look as original as possible to what should be on the car. Year and a half ago to be more specific.
  22. Sorry to hear about the disrespect to the Z but at least that washes off, unlike this little surprice I got form a drunk who did a hit and run in front of the bar I was at..........

No matter what you do, Buy the car for the $400 you mentioned earlier!! Get it home and do the rest of the "DEEP" inspection. Then start looking again for another Z. You might actually find one with a great Motor, Trans, And Seats. if the body on the second Z is crappy and you can get the car for cheap, do it!! Don't act too interested in the motor and trans for any other reason than wanting to know if the run or operate well. If you get too excited around the 2nd seller, He may charge more for the fact that "he has what you want". Parts cars are a gold mine, trust me and every one else here. You never know when the "large crown lock washer and large washer on the rear control arms of your parts car may save you bucks or your life." Excellent work on finding what may be the most life changing item you've ever put in your garage. And "Welcome". Dave.
