  1. Thank you. Much blood has been spillt on that battlefield. All polished with sweat and tears. And a lot of help from Dupli-Color (Ford low gloss black and Chrystler industrial red on the block) I figure that with a heat sheild, the coil could be rubber mounted to the block and the MSD 6A and the Tach adaptor can come inside the car or near the washer fluid bottle area, hidden or out of site. Here's what it looks like on a good day. Dave. Before the triples webers,.....After the triples........No filter shot
  2. Very nice job. It seems like Arne's car has Inspired many a paint job.
  3. That's what I thought but wanted to know for sure. I love the idea but was always worried about heating up the coil because of the header heat. Here's what I'm working with, and can't do what you did. But maybe try something similar on the 260Z while it's under construction. Dave.
  4. Tank strap looks new after media blasting, grinding and POR15.
  5. One half shaft all ready to be installed after painting
  6. Fuel pump bracket all straightened out, media blasted and POR15'd
  7. Top half of tank POR15'd and ready to do the other side.
  8. All prepped and ready for paint (POR15)
  9. Stripped and media blasted, then taped off for POR15.
  10. The Previous Owner ran over something or what ever but somehow trashed the fuel pump and filter bracket. I beat the crap out of it till it looked somewhat straight again. pictures to follow.
  11. Pulled the 260Z tank, pulled the hoses and rubber blocks, scrubbed the hell out of it, descaled the rust, Metal ready and Marine clean'd it. Then POR15'd it. when it's dry, I'll take pictures.
  12. Diff was cleaned, stripped, ground the rust down, then POR15'd. The gears are 37:11 (3.36) Great for the highway.
  13. Looks absolutely gorgeous!! But where is the Coil and wiring? Dave.
  14. While you're at it, check the oil levels in the front carb versus the back carb. Just do a simple "Lift and drop" test.
  15. I'm pretty sure it goes............ Football Beer Turkey NAP Dessert then raid the fridge at midnight. Followed by compulsive ant-acid popping.
  16. You will get all the advice and help you could even need right here at CZCC. This site is loaded with every aspect of Z drivers from "Hey, I bought a rachet set and changed the spark plugs today" to " Well, 10 years ago I started this project and finally took her for a drive"....... I personally started working on cars about 22 years ago and caught the fever. My first Z car is still my daily driver and that was 6 years ago. I've done little things here and there and finally put her in the garage to do a basic rebuild that lasted about 4 months. I redid all the suspension, springs, struts, urethane bushings and a whole lotta paint. Then one year later, I did it again and did all the body work and painted it in the spring. Check out the 2 Cardomain links below and you'll see that my 74' 260Z is this winters project. I don't plan on spending any more than $4 to $5 grand in total but I can get away with that low of a budget because I DO ALL THE WORK MYSELF!!! I have almost every tool I need in my garage. So you can figure that the $10,000 in tools, used on 3 Z cars so far, with an average $4000 budget per Z works out to be over $7000 per rebuild. Take your time, do it right, learn as you go, keep the Z in the family. But don't plan on driving her any time real soon. Have fun with it, you'll make a lot of new friends along the way. Just keep us posted and use the "Search" button when-ever possible. Welcome to the club, Dave.
  17. I measured 4 -3/32 from side to side (guage face.) Also, I just mesured the Vinyl white face stickers from MSA and they are also 4 -3/32" wide. Dave
  18. Click on either one of the CarDomain links in my signiture and you'll see what I did with mine when everything was dropped. Gloss black, silver and red on the 260Z and Silver, Black and yellow and blue accents on the 240Z While you're there, vote for my car please. 5 Stars would be awesome.
  19. This is where it's at as of 5:36pm ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ US $17,000.00 End time: 56 mins 12 secs (Nov-23-08 18:30:00 PST) Sells to: United States Item location: Vero Beach, FL, United States History: 35 bids High bidder: r***a( 166)
  20. This may be totally off subject but I wasn't sure where to post these. I was asked, after selling my NOS front bumper brackets, for the measurements. So I wrote the measurements down and figured I'd post them here on CZCC as well. Dave.
  21. It says "T3" or something like that. I just watched it and paused on the scene. Dave.

  23. wish I had read this earlier, Just turned on SPEED to see the Z with a Blown tire in the pits?? He pulled a third place though, I think. Is it on again soon?
