Bad idea to mount battery in back???
I had some rust issues under the battery tray...Cant find a replacement battery tray....Sooooo I picked up a VERY nice and pricey SS battery box to mount in the back of my 1970 240Z. My brother flipped out and said that I should never mount a battery inside the car. Could explode and kill ya. I see his point but the battery box I purchased is NHRA approved for cars that do not have a firewall. Do I have anything to worry about?

Windshield part # FW241 BBN Moulding part# WCR241 You will need to re-use the chrome locking strip from your front Moulding. Pay no more than $230 installed. ( Windshield $175 Moulding $55.00) This price allows the Glass shop to make a fair profit and you to get a good deal...........Nags list price on that windshield is $555.00)

Depends on the vehicle....most of our work is replacement. repair brings between $35 and $60.00 depending on the insurance company. Replacement goes from $190-$2000.00

Realistic time estimate on total swap
Man....................Even a 1970 Z in great shape and no visible rust is alot of work..........Inside is gutted and I found alot of surface rust in the seams....Some a little more than surface but not enough to bitch about. A little POR and she will be in business. I have spent 2 solid days with the die grinder with a wire wheel......A little clean up and I will be ready to start with the POR.

Title Problems
I actually drove to a DMV in 50 miles from here in the middle of the country. I just spoke faster than she could comprehend...........The title is a clear SC title.....the year is correct.....the Vin is correct.......But the dumb arse put 1970 280Z. Model really does not matter and I did not want to rock the boat.....I will have that corrected at a later date. Atleast I have a clear SC title for the car.......I paid $40.00 to have the title printed on the spot as soon as it hit my hand I was outta there ..... If I would have given her time to think about it she may have realised that she was not allowed to do a vin correction on an out of state title. Oh well....It is done now and the title is locked up in the safe.

Title Problems
OK........I bought a great condition 1970 240 that is gutted. I am transplanting the motor, trans, dash, wiring harness from a 1972 240. The vin# is one digit off on the 1970's title. The state that the car came from does not require a title on a car that old.....The state I am in does. I could not get it titled in S.C. because the Vin on the car was one digit off on the title. (it was a typo). S.C. told me that G.A. needs to correct the title......I called GA and they refuse to correct the title because they do not require a title on that old of a car. So I am kinda screwed......I am going to try the DMV once more tommorrow. If I cant get it straight my only choice is to .... remove the 2 vin plates from the 72 ( I am switching the dash out anyway) and place them on the 1970....I really dont know what else to do........The only thing I am using of the 70 is the shell....everything else will be out of the 1972. Has anyone ever done something like this with vin plates on these old cars??? Am I gonna go to the Big House? WHY CANT I CATCH A BREAK??????????????

Battery Tray
Does anyone sell a battery tray replacement that can just be welded into place? As you guys can see......I am gathering every possible piece I may need for my 72 to 70 swap................................I ordered around $1k worth of goodies from VB and Motorsports and around another $700.00 on Ebay......When I start this transformation....I want to make sure that I have every part I could possibly need.....May even have a couple xtras when I am done. Better safe than sorry.

You guys are freaking me out.............Last year I pulled the 78 280Z in the garage. Did a complete SBC transplant and was on the road in 3 weekends.......Is this project that much harder than making a Hybrid???

Realistic time estimate on total swap
I have a 72 240....body is shot, but it is all there. I purchased a 1970 that is in great shape but it is gutted.....No dash no wiring harness...no motor....no fuel tank. How difficult and how much time will it take to swap all parts from one car to another? Am I getting into a big mess with this project?
