  2. Ha ha - I reckon people who have leather think its hotter, and people who have vinyl think it's hotter! IMO leather is also capable of burning your back! I've done it in my old man's car, which is light grey leather (i.e. a colour that doesn't exactly absorb the rays like black would).

Any ideas on what the best style is for the front air dam on a 240Z? I'm a bit "old school" in what I like, but please offer your suggestions (with pics if possible). Nothing too low that I'll end up "collecting" a few of these guys

I tested mine on the weekend, because I'm having "vibration" problems from the rear end... and a bit of a "hot" smell after driving for 15 mins or so (mind you, I've also just had my exhaust done!)... 1. Out of gear: a. turning one wheel does not necessarily make the other wheel move much, but sometimes it spins in the opposite direction. b. turning the driveshaft makes one or other wheel spin (but it varies!). 2. In gear, engine running, clutch engaged: Wheels are very difficult to get spinning when I let the clutch out! I'm particularly worried about this?? (or perhaps "relieved" because it might be the cause of the vibrations?). 3. In both cases: There is quite a bit of resistance! Like, it will spin freely for 1/3 or 1/2 the revolution (of the wheels), but the rest is pretty hard going, like there's some sort of friction impeding my progress?? :paranoid: Do you guys get that too? I'm a bit worried that the resistance when I let the clutch out might mean my diff is  ??? Cheers

:disappoin If it's not one thing, it's another... My Z has had a vibration coming from the rear for a while. I recently jacked up the left rear, wiggled the wheel to see if it was a bad bearing, and spun the wheel to see if there was anything visible. There was nothing "visibly" wrong, but instead something was "audibly" wrong - The wheel would spin freely for half a revolution, but then kind of "rub" for the second half of the revolution? You know, like there was friction preventing it from spinning freely? :disappoin Any ideas what it could be? Would it be explained by a bad wheel bearing, or something more dramatic?
  7. Yup, I had problems with my exhaust (not MSA though) hanging too close to the ground - especially in the middle of the car when you go over speed bumps or driveways. To make things worse, the exhaust system was in two halves linked with a U-bolt at that middle point, so the bolt used to hang down a bit. One day I was driving a FAT friend out of his driveway, and the bolt caught on the steel track running across his driveway. BANG! Back half of the exhaust was pulled off, and had to get the exhaust shop to put it back. Nasty business, and well worth spending a bit extra to avoid IMO!
  8. At last, a saviour has arrived! Someone with the know-how and interest to do a tricky job for the greater good!!! I am definitely interested in this opportunity, and I'm sure you'll sell WAY more than 50 pairs! I have two suggestions for "improvements" 1. the chrome trim should be a bit thinner. I always thought it was a bit too wide around the edges. BUT, if you're going for "original" then by all means do what the market expects. 2. tool up to reproduce the chrome trims on 240Z tail lights! I am at a loss to see how I can restore my existing plastic/chrome trims, which are now pitted and a bit flakey in parts. The actual lense can be easily cleaned up, but the chrome requires some sort of tricky treatment because it's plastic underneath. Love your work!!!

I cannot rave enough about the new custom extractors I just had made. They are brilliant, and the car sounds awesome! Don't really know why I'm writing this, as I can't really give you details about the extractors, but I'm just really pleased :knockedou They are tuned length, and the secondaries extend past the firewall and become one pipe further back. The sound is smooth, and a bit higher pitched. Quite unique, and very fierce :devious: Get some! I'll post photos in my gallery soon.

  13. MAX, Unfortunately the organge Z is not mine - it was just so nice that I had to *borrow* the photos and pop them in my gallery for all to enjoy, and for my own future reference. I too like the wheels/tyres, and the spoiler. The orange Z is set up beautifully! Wish I knew who the owner was, as it looks like an Australian (i.e. local to my part of the world) car. :classic: The wheels look like Panasports to me, probably 16". If you visit Panasport's website they even tell you what size they have for 240Z's. The tyres are probably racing tyres, judging by the general kit-out of the car (and the fact that it's on a trailer). My car is the dark red Z in my gallery. It's wheels are very "period" - 14" performance wheels, with 60 profile tyres. I like mags that are 1970's, rather than modern. So I quite like my "performance" brand wheels and would probably only swap them for Panasports or Minilites, to fill out the guards and beef up the look a bit.
  14. I much prefer this one: Z-front spoiler :knockedou

  16. Dude! Just joking - take a chill pill, I would never defile a Z, let alone a Z432 (I knew that would get someone going)
