What primer to use?
I have a fair amount of surface rust on roof, doors and hatch and figured i should probably take care of it before it gets any worse. I am not planning on having the car painted for several months so what is the best primer or surface protectant to use after i get the rust sanded off.

Between work, school and planning a wedding I dont have time to compete this project so i am selling it. The bad... - needs paint (has some minor surface rust, original looks like it was brown) -needs interior work(carpet pretty much gone, dash is cracked) -needs hard brake lines up front(just the short ones between the caliper and brake line) The good... -runs good -has dual weber dgv's -no body rot -front suspension rebuilt(new tokico struts and shocks, 4 piston calipers, urethane bushings, stainless steel brake lines, new ball joints and outer tie rod ends) -I have new tokico struts and springs for the rear as well -seats were recently reupholstered The hood and front fenders are off the car and it will obvioulsy need to be towed since the front brake system is not complete. It has a manual transmission. Like to sell it locally in the bay area. I will post pics very soon. Make an offer.

surface rust
Ok...is there a certain type of primer that i should use? Because i was under the impression that primers didnt really prevent rust. Thanks.

surface rust
My '73 has some minor surface rust on the doors and rear quarters. I am not going to able to have the car painted till summer but i want to do something about this rust now. What is the best way to treat this and keep the rust away until i am able to have it painted?

outer tie rod end
How the hell do i seperate the outer tie rod end from the inner, the outer tie rod seems like its frozen on there.
