I have decided to part with my 1971 240 z , it is a vertical defrost vent unit with a series one manual 4 speed with a/s < not working > , its original color was 905 its serial number is 33776. I have the original window sticker , invoice from the dealer when they got it and most everything til its current 45,00 miles . It has zero rust and now is rosa corsa red with hyashi racing wheels and tires with little mile but dry rotted. The rear brakes don't work properly and the master cylinder for the brakes need replacing which I have and the clutch cylinder needs replacing as well . I haven't started it recently but it always does and runs very well . I am looking for input to see if I should get it fully driving or sell it as it is. Also some value or price ideas I understand I am asking wolves to hide the sheep but I am sure someone will be frank with ideas. I uploaded picture not to get offers but to get condition idea and such. The bottom is perfect as in rust free and the motor is totally original. The interior is completely bones tock except drivers seat was replaced with a recarao and the usual dash cracks. I have seen prices all over the place for them so some honest ideas would be nice , the car is located in the central Florida area. Thank you ahead of time for you input and ideas. yes getting inland out of it and not having room for my daughter to ride and lack of use are my reasons IMG_8580.HEIC IMG_8578.HEIC IMG_8576.HEIC- L24 won't run properly (video). What can cause this?
i have lived this a few times and I would guess the points , or possibly a loose wire somewhere , if you tested the plug cables and they are of good quality then you can narrow it down closer to the distributor , make the assumption that every 40-45 year old electrical connection is bad till you test or redo to prove otherwise , very odd that you would have the issue with the zx unit, as mentioned before back to basics and just take your time- New to me 73 240z
congrats , one of mine started in a very similar fashion even that same 70s sunroof- Would you give $4000 for this car?
wow 4k i would say there could be some surprises lurking in there and i would say if if the car was truly a 79k mile car why repaint it or why wouldn't it be in a garage most of its life , i got 20 bucks on 179k- ZRush - sad news
Vicky our thoughts and prays are with you and your family. Sadly only met him once at Z fest. Way too young at 43.- Another bumper on

- Series 1 Just Listed on Ebay
I think its a very nice car , flawless no but for it being in the NE I think the price isn't all that bad. If it was in the west coast I am sure it would be a 7k car , I also would want more specific pics as well. But overall not bad.- Selling my 72 240z Central florida
I am finally at the point of must sell, life as well as space kinda has put this on me as well as my 71 being done. I have the car listed on the classfied section , thank you ,hope she gets to someone that wants to save her.- '72 240Z quit...
Welcome and congrats on your purchase, if you blew the tail lights can I assume you lost the guage lights as well? Do check the backside of the fuse box for build up of corrosion, it tends to look green , fix this issue quickly if the fuse regularly blows, otherwise you can end up with a melted fuse box. In reguard to the carbs if the car is running a stock ignition system I would recommend upgrading to an electronic ignition, easier to start and keep right. I would also seek a mechanic that has good expierence with webbers or other similar type of carbs <IE , a older jag , lambo , ferrari guys> , sometimes its can be expensive but often a bit more up front for someone who knows how to do them right saves money upfront. Some pics of the engine bay might help as well . Good Luck- New Paint

do you have a link to the website?- More Electric Nightmares
Roujin , a bit more about the car year and options it has on it , being not a usa car you might have diffrent setups so far as options. I am refering to digital dash , and such. I assume when you said globes you mean the light housing itself? Or are you refering to the light switch ? A wise investment is a manual with a wiring diagram 10-20 bucks and it can help alot. Two things come to mind in reference to a switch being used in the ignition outside of stock, one its as a thieft kinda thing or two because someone did not want to replace an expensive switch or tried to fix and made it worse. Also is the car a manual or auto . Not terribly familar with the 280zx but all the info you can provide us will help things more .- Is chassis worth saving
All depends on if you really want to save that one car , yes very much could be done but as others have said is it worth it? Just a matter of how bad you want to , and where you are and how much you can afford to spend. But I think a better shell will shave you money in the long run, even the engine looks rusted.
