Rally Clock for sale on Ebay
I love ebay when it come to buying and selling z stuff because you normally deal with a select group of people that truly enjoy their cars and understand the same about you , but on the other hand I also deal with other import parts and for the most part they are all good buyers but I find the younger buyers bid without concern some other people feel you should jump through hoops of fire like a small poodle for them , rarely do I deal with anyone that doesn't take paypal , mainly because I am covered as a buyer , I have read too many times on , I think its Zcar.com about scammers that list stuff take money and don't ship or never had the item. I would only sell to members of this webclub only because I wouldn't feel comfortable otherwise.

Which one you like better?
the car is a 72 , its painted guards red and the bumpers were zinced and primed to take paint , it was painted in june-august of 1987 pics taken on oct 87 , the whale tail was a toss up at the time when I bought the car<it was already on it> , if I had to redo it merely months after having the car repainted it would have been without the tail<always seems to crack>, I can get pics of my brothers 74 < broken74 > he doesn't have bumpers presently, it is lowered as well , all the chrome was removed and painted black, I sold the car to buy one with a/c , a bmw 3 series at the time , probably the worst mistake I have ever made, but I prefer z's with bumpers <minus guards> and with either a bre spoiler or nothing, which my 72 I have now will be

What defines a 240Z a classic?
hhm Classic , I think if you compare other notable production cars that are considered classics you will find they started a long notable production run and race history as well as a body style or name that causes a stir within people who admire them and to the owners. maybe not all of the above but atleast one, the k car wasn't produced for 25 years nor was it raced ,the corvette, mustang, mgb, jaguar and mini was as well as many other classic production units, < production meaning they made enough where if you wanted to buy one you could , not a 71 aar cuda hemi or mako corvette> but the whole line of that car, but I agree most above all else its the love of the car weither you own one or not most people ask about your z if you drive it around town , my brother has been stopped several times to have questions asked or once to have a father tell his son how he used to have one, classic yes to many , but to me it still my baby like a tall striking model or a short bland woman you love her either way

Monster Garage
Me and my business partner ordered a one off set of wheels from Coddington and we dealt with his son , and he was a great guy . But just from watching the shows I am would have to agree dad might not be my choice of bosses. Shame how money and a touch of fame sometimes brings out the less than great side of a person.

$640,000 for a Corvette?!?!
yea they failed to show the pic of the buyer , a napoleonic man that lacks testicular fortitude , I would think for that much you could get yourself a piece of a chevy dealership:geek:

Monster Garage
I searched quite a bit to see if anything was on the internet about it , I found a couple of sites mentioning some stuff <but there is plenty on the little green guys at roswell too >, but I really hope I am wrong , maybe I shouldn't have mentioned it on the thread . I would think it would be hard to keep that away from the media.

Monster Garage
If you watch some of the shows you will see stickers and t shirts that say free jesse , from what I have heard it was a money laundering issue. But honestly not 100% sure , but watch the rock crawler episode you can see the shirts and stickers there. I was told by a friend who is into custom bikes and I was skeptical till I saw the shirts and such.

Thinking about purchasing a 260z
If the car is all metal therein not having body filler aka bondo the magnet will stick without any probs , if the car has had body work using bondo or fiberglass , the magnet will not stay attched to the body . If you find a radio supply place sometimes they sell rubber coated ones, alot of people don't like you using a bare magnet on their car. They also make body filler testing devices not sure how well they work but I have always found the magnet to be a somewhat realiable test, not 100% but it it will atleast give you a heads up to possible bad spots:geek:

Eletrical problems, car won't turn over
I would wait to try again till you get the link , if you search in the forums I know someone had posted a way for testing the starter by using a wire to bypass the ignition. I used it to eliminate my starting issues, mine was a bad starter. Good luck

Not sure about a price for you but can definately tell you where to look for rust. First the floor pans and frame rails look under the car as well as inside the where you feet go. Around the door jams where the bottom seals go is a bad spot. Under the battery box is pretty bad spot. I would also check around the hatch area and under the hatch itself , alot of times you can see the discoloration from the water running from the hatch and down past the tail lights that can be a sign of rust. All of the body I would check out but those to me are key hidden areas to check . Just bring a magnet and a good eye , I would rather see the rust and know the extent of it than see bondo and just gues at how bad it could be
