I would also clean the terminals for the battery and the ones going to the starter. They might be causing the bog down when trying to start the car. You need to check the rotor and the distributor cap on the car as well. The distributor retainer bolt that keep the distributor locked in once you have timed it might have come loose it is at the bottom of the distributor near the blockplate. How long did the car sit? If it sat for a long time I would take a bit of effort to make sure all the fuses and relays are clean and free of buildup from moisture. Being a turbo engine there are a few more things that can be a prob but mostly air/fuel/spark are the keys things. But if having an exhaust which isn't clogged up is key as well.

I have used JB weld with very good results on radiators but it isn't a true permant fix. You can get it at any local hardware or auto parts place. Lasted 3-4 years on a couple of cars I used this on . Good Luck

Wow Ed , I am very impressed with the level of quality of the resto. The suspension is very impressive and the attention to detail. Congrats , now go out and drive it and show that beauty off .

There are lots of info on the page reguarding stroker setups and links to sites offering advice. I think hybridz as well as lots of info on those types of motors. Depending how you set up the motor in the aspect of new parts , new main bolts, new intakes polishing and diffrent carbs setups you can quickly spend quite a bit. The crank is a great find and saves you a nice chunk of change. Read up on the build advice of people who have done it themselves , I have heard its not nearly as easy to do as its described. I personally would go with n/a but some people swear by turbo motors and they have very good results with them. I also am looking into this and if can find them I will send you some links to some pages i found. I think I am gonna go with a Robello motor eventually just so I know its done right.

  10. Hey if theres trouble to be in I need to be included .
  11. How am I narrow minded , I never said that you shouldn't put stickers on your car or wear your pants in a certain fashion or any thing all except tell me what is right and wrong. And that has nothing to do with street racing at all. Well I be sure not to spread any of your GOOD habits around . I think the world has enough of that already.
  12. ROFLOL You know I think you need help. WHHHOOOO OHHHHH NO a note to my insurance agent. What is it gonna say , that I have been a badddd little datsun owner? You gonna raise my rate or make me take off my stickers? Instead of standing on your soap box as you said you should put down the crack pipe and realize that your narrow minded beliefs really irritate some people < if not most> especially mine when you think standing in the corner with big brother and telling on people is a good ideal .
  13. Hey if I want to cover my car in stickers as long as I dont use vulgar or outright offensive ones thats my choice , and if you think that stickers are the same as racing you need help. Well i guess we are only jeapordizing your freedom or ours of we disagree with what YOU think and WHAT YOU belive in. If you don't like the stickers on my cars or my butt so what don't look. I think when I break the law then stop me but if my car is lowered has a spoiler or has what ever I want on it gives no one a right to profile me nor stop me without cause. what are you talking about , you sound like some one who assumes one with long hair and tatoos are evil . Let me guess you want me to give up my guns , my choice of clothing and my taste in cars , weither or not it falls in your taste bracket? Tell ya what kiss my Amercian loving butt
  14. there is video from z therapy about it as well as a complete suspension bushing change out , you don't have to remove the rack but might have to jack up one side of the motor, also you should check the steering cupler bushing , its near the firewall inside the engine area
  15. http://www.geocities.com/zgarage2001/z.html I think there were only two for the us market but i could wrong this is a great website on the trannys
  16. sounds like a person I wouldn't care for , a few things don't look correct to me , but I admit its a very nice car not a 20k 73 z < to me >, atleast for me being an automatic makes it less desireable , hhm just my 2cents
  17. If all you did was remove the motor and thats the only electrical connections that have been messed with and you knew it cranked before that relatively easy, I also have a 72 and can take pics if needed for the main wiring , the starter / battery main harness power supply I think its 3 main wires and then you have the 3 or 4 wires to the dizzy < did you install an electronic distributor?> and then the water temp sensor and the oil pressure sensor , if you did install a electronic distributor I have a wiring layout for that but that alone wouldn't cause it to not crank at all, sounds like you didn't hook up the wiring from the batter or from the main harness to the starter, assuming all you did was pull the motor and didn't go farther into the wiring.
  18. wow so custom that you don't need passenger side door handles or to tape off emblems before priming < gives that euro look> , interested to know what his reserve is
  19. http://www.geocities.com/zgarage2001/z.html here is the link reguarding it , if you scroll down it talks about fan distance and you might be correct in the thought that you might have a zx one , good luck

will not go into gear at all ? or will grind and not go in or does it feel like the gear just doesn't exisit? when I had a gear failure mine acted like the reverse wasn't there and if you forced it it would grind but you had to really force it alot, never hurts to change the fluid and go from there, good luck
  21. as you probably know the 70-and I thought some 71's came with the metal fan and the clutch was diffrent , I also have read from looking up on building a stroker motor that the f54 had some clearance issues , I know on my 72 I have a 4 core and it fits fine with the 72 and up plastic fan / older clutch

oh I know , not arguing , yea i agree with ya 1000% with the ebay parts issues , I only buy Z parts if I can visually confirm what they are, and you right unfortunately some body will buy it thinking it is as advertised , found that out first hand , but its a buyer beware thing

the exhaust is a manufacturer of exhaust parts for some Ferraris yes , but that exhaust tip set up is for a 260/280 z set up. I love how some ebays can't even read the stickers correctly on their stuff , sad
