WEll well well... It did all happen shortly after installation of a new radio! Very interesting!!! I'm going to pull out the old melted fuse box (which I have to wiggle almose nightly to get the running lamps to light and replace it. $200 sounds a little steep, but I'm over this particular pain in the @ss! Thanks for all the help!!!

My 73 240 is having a problem and I thought some of you brilliant folks could help. The fan stopped blowing and at the same time the interior light and map light have stopped working. I can "hot wire" the fan and it works fine, but without that...nothing. Need more info? Any Ideas?!?! Thanks!

    WOW, that is georgeous!
  5. No, I hadn't thought about that! I'll have my mech. look at it when he has a chance, unless you can give me a quick tutorial?!?! It has had this problem before but only in hot weather
  6. I recently was in stop and go traffic and I noticed that as I was coming to a stop, that all to uneasy feeling that the Z was about to die came on. It was running hot that day and the temps had been in the 80's for the first time this year. Sure enough after a couple more stops I had to get off the hwy and let her rest for about 30 min. I was able to drive home after with no heat issues???? The car is a '73 240 with an after market A/C unit which includes the A/C radiator (which sets in front of the car's radiator). I have the original round tops and intake with Summer/Winter on it (set to Summer). Does this sound familiar? Can it be corrected? This is my daily driver and I can't afford to have this issue with summer coming on ! Thanks! Trae

Have you tried cranking the hood stopper down a little? I'm refering to the little nut with a big rubber bumber on it that is located right below where the hooe release is in the engine compartment. Just my first thought! Good Luck! :stupid:

Lance, thanks for the info, we did go with the cast iron ones and it runs like a stallion! I left it in Tulsa for now since it has a new engine and needs that break in time at lower, slower speeds! Can't wait to bring her home and pamper her here!!

Yes, I was told that the cast iron ones would eventually cause me to blow a piston and have to redo the enitre overhaul! Is there different info?

My 73 240 is in need of rings, right away! The only ones we can find are cast iron and there is no way I'm putting that in there! Datsun/Nissan no longer makes the rings to fit this car and aftermarket can't get here til tuesday. Any suggestions? Thanks, TraeZ

I've just seen tail lights on a 240Z that are two individual round lights (like those on a Ferarri). Does anyone have any info on where these may be purchased? Nevermind, I think they're custom!
