There are reocker panels for sale on ebay. I have a 280z and these are listed to be for a 240. Are the any differences? Thanks ..Bruce

I am in desperate need of a working interior heater control valve for a 77 280 z. the Nissan dealer here is unable to get a new one for me. if anyone can help me out I would be greatful

Hey all ..I thought I would post a little message here .. I have just discovered that the "new" doors I have for my 77 280 are actualy for an older model. So I have for sale or swap 2 good doors and 2 rusty doors for a 76 and older z .. and also alittle rusty but not too bad .. 2 doors from a 77 280 What I would really like to find is some good doors for my 77 280 that would bolt right on. So this is a questions I have now .. I have 2 sets of door that i can put on my 77 280 and the new setts both have different latches. I could bolt the latch onto the body and mahe it work ... but are saying that it is not worth the trouble? Anybody know where I could get two good doors for a 77 280? Anybody interested in doors for 240/260 ???

Thanks Gary even though I am not racing this car .. I would like to set it up with urethane bushings etc ... just to have a car that would give me that feel. I dont intend on selling it and would like it to feel like a car that would cut up a corner. Hey we should hook up some time. We are not far from one another. .. I would love to hear your z stories. Hey guys .. I am about to do a complete upgrade on my old wornout suspension on my 77 z and I cant remember where I saw some web sites that document this project. Can anyone tell me where I could find this info ..or offer me your own advice. I assume I should just plan to replace everything. What kind of issues am I likely to encounter ... What things can I easily do under some ramps and what do I need to get the front end guys to do? I am I pretty good mechanic ..but have not done much suspension work. This car has all original rubber I think. Also .. how hard it is to change the u-joints. The clunking in the back end is getting louder and I need to get them changed. Can I do this myself easily enough? Thanks All .. Bruce

How much oil is the right amount to put into my 280 Z?

My advise .. take out the crappy FI in this car and put a good header and a nice new set of SU's. I did this to my 77 and have NO regrets. The car pulls harder, gets better mpg, runs better over all and I have no more problem diagnosing a problem. If you have sprk and fuel, you car runs good (in simple terms) And I think that by the time would have spent all the money fixing the old FI system, I am better off going the way I went. Sorry .. I know this is not an answer to your question .. I am just pitting my opinion forward for those who are interested. Cheers ! Ü Bruce

hmm I am not too sure what that is. The valve I am after has 2 (or 3) hoses attach to it. It has heat fron the motor coming in and the valve from the heater control(in the dash) can restrict the hot water going to it. It then goes to the interior heater core and then returns out. Where is that valve you are showing attached? Thanks ..Bruce

how much should I put in? .. I dont know if it has oil gunk built up .. what if it does and put it in ?

My old neighbour who was a mechanic told me I should put auto trans fluid in my motor oil of my 77 z that is sitting doing nothing now. I start it up every few weeks and he said it sounded like it needed it. Wadda think guys ??? is he nuts ???/ Cheers ..Bruce

My 77 had a faulty FI system. It would just stop while running without warning. I spent some time on it but decided that it would likely be cheaper to take out the crappy FI system and instal a nice set of SU's. You with get a more reliable car with more power. It was pretty easy actualy. I still dont know what the problem was but I suspect it was a faulty computer. The problem with these old electrics is there is now way to track an intermiten fault easily. There is about 6 different areas that could be causing your problem. My advise is before you get too far into spending money on it, think about the SU's. Cheers ..Bruce

yep .. they are like that from original .. I cant say if they all are .. but mine was an auto with a FI from factory .. and it had one.

I have had a hard time getting the cables set up properly though. O think my return springs on the crarb is to blame. It seems to me the cable does not pull the cable far enough. Question for you 240 owners... do you need to operate the choke when starting your car when cold in the summertime?

yep ..and I am glad about that cause I put my choke lever in there on my 77 when I took out the FI and put in SU-s. I had to drill a hole in the lever bracket to mount it ..but it works well. B
