Two 240Z fuel pumps? Catalog wrong?
I was looking for a fuel pump in the Summer 2006 edition of the Black Dragon (Victoria British?) Z catalog. The catalog indicates that the '70 240Z has two fuel pumps, an electric by the gas tank and a mechanical in the engine compartment. I'm pretty dang sure this isn't correct. Is it? :stupid:

fuel pump?
At the risk of asking a stupid question... My '70 Z stopped running while idling. 1) I disconnected the line after the fuel pump and turned it over, no gas spurted out. 2) I removed the filter and blew through it to make sure it isn’t clogged and then replaced the filter. 3) I repeated step "1" and still no gas spurted out. Most likely the pump is bad? Right? Thanks.

240Z in "AutoWeek"
I was looking at the Jan 30th AutoWeek today. There's an article about some big name business people, not just automoblie business. A couple of them name the 240Z as their idea of a car design icon. It's on page 17.

Flushing out a gas tank...
I agree with Pete. I had mine done at a radiator shop for less than $100. Worked out great.

JDM Z Nostalgic type videos!
Dang! Only one would open in Windows Media Player. The rest would open in a new window with a bunch of gibberish. I wonder why?

Keep the A/C or pull it out?
I'm pulling mine out. I wonder if it's worth selling on ebay. It's a dealer installed from 1970.

Having a car shipped to me. How?
I need to have a car shipped to me. Where do I start making arrangements? The car is 1,200 miles from where I live and I don't the time off from work to drive up there and tow it back. Any suggestions? The car belonged to my dad and his estate is being cleared out so I need to make arrangements ASAP. Thanks!, Steve

Clip for deck vent - series 1
Hi, I'm missing one of the black metal clips that hold the vent covers in place for a series 1 240Z. The vent is on the rear deck/hatch back. Do you know where I can buy one or have any suggestions for a subsitute? Thanks, Steve

510 and 240Z, same bolt pattern/spacing on their rims?
Only thing I know about it is that stock, the 510 took 13" rims and the Z took 14".

240Z in Aunger Advert
What's the other car in the ad? It says "351 GT" on the rear; is it a Ford pony car that we didn't get in the States? Looks cool from what I can see. :classic:

Is there a gas tank that will interchange?
My car sat for about 8 years. I had my tank "boiled" out by a radiator shop. They also painted it and it looks really nice. The cost was about $60. Before, the car would run about 5 minutes then the filter would be clogged; after, there has been no problem. I didn't coat my tank. The raditor shop cautioned against coating it because they said that if the coating starting coming off the tank would be ruined.

Loose shifter, type A tranny
Mine is the A type, I've verified this. The two large rubber bushings at the end of the shift lever are fine. It's slop is at the pin. Is there nothing that can be done to take out the slop? Maybe instead of the pin, I could use a bolt with a nylock nut? Steve

Loose shifter, type A tranny
I used the search function and didn't find a clear answer to my question... I called MSA and told them that I have a '70 240Z with the original 4-speed and that it's loose where the pin goes through the fork. The sold me a new pin & snap ring, which I installed. It didn't make any difference. Is there suppose to be nylon bushings, washers, or something else there besides just the pin & snap ring? Thanks, Steve

73 240 in MASS $250 (on ebay)
Good thing it only stayed fired-up for a moment... there's no upper radiator hose. It also says that the slotted wheels are in fair shape; too bad there's only three of them. It's amazing that a car would sit around for 21 years. That's a life time for many of our members. Well worth $250 in parts. There's a few parts there I'd like to have, I'm sure.

1974 240z
Would the very last ever 240Z be highly collectable? That'd be pretty cool! Wouldn't that be something... the oldest and newest available 240Z in your collection.

bushings
I'm interested in this subject too as I plan on replacing all my bushings this summer. It's mentioned in this thread that info on the installation is on this site; that's great. The book, "How to Restore you Z" by Humble (I hope I have it right)... does the book have instructions on how to replace the bushings? I'd like to have it all in one place, in hand so that I can study it well before diving in. Thanks

Pics from Japan
For some reason I couldn't get the file to run. Probably 'cause I'm in the States?

How to Modify Your Nissan&Datsun
How to Modify Your Nissan&Datsun: Ohc Engine by Frank Honsowetz If you have this book, what do you think of it? I'm thinking of buying it if for nothing else than for interesting reading. My Z is stock but I'm interested in doing performance mods here and there over time. Thanks, Steve
