Check out this Z
Yup, that's a B210 in the US. A cheap little throwaway car that you don't see much of any more. BTW My mom had a '77 Datsun 200SX. It was a funny looking sports coupe that had a 5-speed with an odd shift pattern. 1st was all the way to the left and down. Anyone remember those? I haven't seen one in years.

Does anyone recognise these wheels?
I don't know anything about them, but they look pretty cool.

Need advise - insurance claim
My friend backed into my Z yesterday Well, my friend felt really bad, is a gentelman, and took responsibility and filed a claim with his insurance, Gieco (sp?) It damaged the left fender and door. I'm afraid that I'm going to have trouble with his insurance company. Things like "we're going to total it and give you $1,000 because it's just an old Datsun", "you have to take it to our bodyshop and it's not our fault the paint doesn't match", etc. I know insurance companies can be jerks. The Z is (before the accident) in good shape. No rust or body damage. I have some of the interior trim out of the car because the previous owner took it out to trouble shoot a electrical issue. I have all the interior pieces. I'm giving this information to show that the Z isn't a junker. Please give me pointers that will help me resolve my forseen issues and make me a happy Z owner again. Thanks

A or B style transmission?
I need to buy bushings to remove the slop in my shifter. MSA told me I need to know if I have an "A" or "B" transmission. Are there any diagrams of the two types on line so I can tell? Thanks

Z Car article in "AutoWeek"
Anyone seen the little write-up in "AutoWeek" in the market section on page 23, Dec. 13th edition? It's about a '72 240Z that was sold for auction in Portland, OR. The car sold for $1,098. The picture and article makes the car sound not too bad... original and nice interior, grimy but very original under the hood. It also says that there are rock chips and rust bubbles in fender wells, and some rust underneath. The writer says "Overall, at one time a pretty decent survivor that's been allowed to deteriorate" Then it goes in to tell some nice things about 240Z's in general. What I found strange is that the guy goes on to call this car a "pig" that would cost $25,000 to make right! Kind of weird, I thought. What do you think?

what is the clonk coming from my 240
I get the same "clonk" in my 70 240Z. I'm interested in knowing what you find out.

Nissan Z Video
Robert, It's no problem for me to loan it to you. Actually, I was planning on loaning it to you at the meeting Thursday night but neither of us made it there. I'll send you a PM.

Nissan Z Video
It was shown on PBS but I don't think it's a PBS production. It was copy written in 2004 so it's up to date. My dad saw it at 5:30 AM, Nov. 13th on Oregon Public Broadcasting and liked it so he ordered two copies; one for me and one for him. I found this link to the company that made it... http://www.greatcarstv.com/

Nissan Z Video
The video I have is copy write 2004. That's why there's 350Z stuff in it. I actually like the 350Z; I think it's less expensive then the last 300ZX isn't it?

Nissan Z Video
Have you seen the video in the Great Cars series called "Nissan Z". I think it aired on PBS not too long ago. I got a copy of as a gift and it's pretty darn good. It gives some Nissan/Datsun history with some good old footage. It then goes into the development of the original Z and beyond upto the 350Z. Also has a little bit on the Roadster and some racing stuff. Check it out if you get the chance. :classic:

The ULTIMATE Rally???
Yeah, they have paved roads but you'll probably hit an ox cart going 200 mph.
