Hi All!
The cam cover breather hose on my US 240Z feeds back to the air cleaner.

Hi All!
Nice looking car! I checked your internet pictures... I noticed that your front turn signals look different than my US '70 240Z. Mine are mounted on the body below the bumper and yours are mounted on the bumper itself. I also noticed that your rear turn signals are amber and mine are red. I think your carb linkage looked different too, less cluttered than mine. I wonder what other differences there are with the US & UK Z cars? Other than right hand drive, of course.

Opinions Wanted: Iron Cross Style Wheels
IMHO the wheels are fine but I don't think they look great on the 240Z; too modern. But hey, what do I know? My Z has hubcaps.:cross-eye

Dent in floor of 240Z, do you have that too?
Maybe so, but it seems odd that my friend's Z has the exact same dent and it was there the day he bought the car. I thought maybe it was a common occurrence; but maybe not.:cross-eye There's no damage to the stucture, just sheet metal.

No, nothing in that photo looks like what I'm talking about. It would be difficult to get a good photo as it wouldn't show up well in a photo of the carpet. But it is a sizeable dent. I'll have to lift the car to get a good shot from underneath. :cross-eye

My '70 240Z has a dent in the floor on the left side. The dent bulges up into the cabin and is under the clutch pedal (my car is left hand drive). I thought that maybe a previous owner had hit a pot hole or ran over a rock. But I showed it to a guy and he told me his '72 240Z has that too and it was there when he bought the car brand new. He thinks the dent was caused when the car was shipped from Japan. Do you know if that is common? Do you have it on your Z? Thanks

We're just out of Albuquerque on the Northwest side. We live in the sagebrush and prickly pear cactus about 5 mile from the Rio Grande. I know a little about Maryland from when we lived in Manassas, VA.

If you're not familiar with the work of Steven Wright, he's the famous scientist who once said: "I woke up one morning and all of my stuff had been stolen... and replaced by exact duplicates." His mind sees things differently than we do, to our amazement and amusement. Here are some of his gems): 1 - I'd kill for a Nobel Peace Prize. 2 - Borrow money from pessimists - they don't expect it back. 3 - Half the people you know are below average. 4 - 99% of lawyers give the rest a bad name. 5 - 42.7% of all statistics are made up on the spot. 6 - A conscience is what hurts when all your other parts feel so good. 7 - A clear conscience is usually the sign of a bad memory. 8 - If you want the rainbow, you gotta put up with the rain. 9 - All those who believe in psycho-kinesis, raise my hand. 10 - The early bird may get the worm, but the second mouse gets the cheese. 11 - I almost had a psychic girlfriend but she left me before we met. 12 - OK, so what's the speed of dark? 13 - How do you tell when you're out oBR>25 - If at first you don't succeed, destroy all evidence that you tried. 26 - A conclusion is the place where you got tired of thinking. 27 - Experience is something you don't get until just after you need it. 28 - The hardness of the butter is proportional to the softness of the bread. 29 - To steal ideas from one person is plagiarism; to steal from many is research. 30 - The problem with the gene pool is that there is no lifeguard. 31 - The sooner you fall behind, the more time you'll have to catch up. 32 - The colder the x-ray table, the more of your body is required to be on it. 33 - Everyone has a photographic memory, some just don't have film!

guess what I got for X-mas?
The 240Z model that started this thread, I got three of them for Christmas this year.:classic: My dad gave me two that he bought off eBay and my 17 year-old son gave me one he bought at a hobby store. I'm building one now and I think the kid will build another and I'll save the third.

Chassis number plate
That's cool... I heard that the 260Z in the US has less horse power than the 240Z. Your Spanish 260Z (162 hp) has more than my USA 1970 240Z (150 hp).

Tools for electrical trouble shooting
I have some electrical trouble shooting to do. The previous owner said that when the lights are on and the break is applied a fuse blows (I don't know which fuse yet). What does a good, basic electrical trouble shooting tool kit consist of? Any good sources you know of? I don't know what the heck I'm doing but am ready to give it a try. Thanks

Cleaned carbs but won't run
My 240Z ran when I got it, but poorly. I took the carbs off and cleaned them by removing the suction chamber, piston and float assembly and spraying with carb cleaner and soaking small pieces in Berrymans. And wiping and scrubbing with a toothbrush well. I checked the adjustment on the floats and they were fine. I left the other adjustments as they were. Now the car won't start. When you crank it with the starter the car will rev-up but when you let go of the key the car immediately dies. I thought that if the car ran with dirty carbs, just cleaning them would at the very least help a little. Any thoughts why it won't start? Thanks, Steve
