hi everybody even though i put suzuki gti seats in my zed and changed the whole colour of my interior But another way of doing it would be if your runners and seat frame is good you could go to your upholsterer and could make the seats (foam padding section) to suit your body frame you could choice the colour and the fabric you wanted could match your seat to the rest of the interior instead of having to change the whole interior colour just an idea robert

hi have changed the gearbox and diff from a 240k stewart supplied both so it has not been on the road for a few weeks fitted the longer extractors from stewart wilkins your manifold and throttle body running a falcon cable for accelerator it does seem to rev up a lot quicker than before its going to the muffler shop monday for 2 1/4 inch exhaust then up to stewart for the tuning and dyno hope i get to that magic 100kw at the wheels when i got 90kw out of it it had only done 1,000k it has loosened up i bit now by the way did you end up getting the manifold with the six throttle bodies from melbourne they looked unreal but could not afford a justifer the price but if i had the money they would be on soon as i could get them thank robert

thank you for the help ended up finding the problem the adapter that i made up had the studs in it when i tightened up the adapter the stud pushed out against the manifold letting it suck air thank you robert

hi all have changed over from my 2.8l nissan standard inlet manifold,standard 50m throttle body and extractors ems stinger computer new ones replaced are 2.8 nissan naps inlet manifold.65m throttle body of a ford and stewart wilkins extractors my problem is when i started the car tonight it reved to around 4,500 and would not idle back down tried the adjuster screw but that did nothing what would you guys suggest i do thought that i may disconnect the computer so it could reset itself but any help would be appreciated thank you robert

hi when you a doing the restoration if you are not going for a full original look or concourse do what they do to the new cars and fit a heat sheild through the tunnel area so it does not get as hot it should cool it down and the heat would be dispursed away before it gets to your tunnel robert:classic:

hi you could always take to a panel shop that has an chassis alignment machine if you really want to find out the axact measurements do not know how much they would charge but it would put your mind at ease robert

hi why dont you get an old panel and paint it first to give the look you are after why not put some white pearl in there or another colour blue pearl or another colour that takes your fansy and you could try different base colour i think with a darker base you will get more depth somebody jump in if i am wrong robert

hi everybody i am going to change my clutch in the not to distant future my question is the best grade and type of oil to use in my gearbox and diff if i use a thinner grade would that make the motor not work as hard and a smoother gear change i have a 2.8 nissan with the 5 speed gearbox in my 1971 240z any help would be good thank you robert

hi i priced slotted disc rotors for my 240z $250.00 for the both sides also i was quoted $100.00 for brake pads which are suppose to be really good ,a couple of people have said the difference in pulling up, you would have to change you braking point the are a product called greenstuff have not known anybody other than the two brake shops i was talking to about them do not know if that is shop talk or the truth robert

what you may want to remember is that the tacho in the 240z 71 model will not start without it being connected do not know if it is the same on yours robert

question being 1971 datsun 240z with the 280zx efi motor and after market computer is it possible to fit the transmitter(fuel float sender in tank) in the wrong way as my fuel gauge reads empty when full and full when empty at least it is accurate but reads back to front i could just pull it out and check but i thought i would ask the question first thank you for any response robert

hi zthing before you put the shifter back in get new rubbers makes for a better gear change unless your rubbers are a nice tight fit already when i took mine out they just did not feel the same so i changed mine a lousy $10.00 robert

hi all would like to know if I change the size of the throttle body does it make much difference to the power output I have a 2.8 efi motor in my 240z the size of the throttle body internal butterfly size is 50 mm also has flat top pistons and a p90 head after market ems stinger computer it puts out 90kws at the rear wheels on the dyno I was thinking of putting a 60-65mm from a vl commodore or if somebody has a better changeover throttle body could you please advise thank you rob

hoping for some help i have fitted the 2.8 fuel injected 280zx motor n54 with p90 head flat top pistons and mild cam into my 71 240z it has an aftermarket computer the problem i am having is at 4500 rpm i loss voltage down to 10.5-11 but only over that rpms noticed when it was on the dyno one person has advised a surge tank and lift pump and a few people advise a upgraded alternator the auto electrician thought that it was charging correctly and losing it after 4500 rpm it is stilling running the 240z alternater 40amps rob

maybe some photos to go with the make model would also help rob
