How Close Are Our VIN #'s
Zdreamer, are you sure the build date is not 9-70 instead of 9-71 for #9974? Go to zhome.com and look at the register.

Correct upper thermostat housing, 2 or 3 screw holes
I have a 7-71 240 with a 3 hole upper thermostat housing. Is this correct? Do you have a 2 or 3 and what is the production date? Note sure what the extra hole is used for, since one of the other holes holds on the sparkplug wire loom. My lower housing only has 2 holes. Thanks Keith

70-71 Choke plate
Can you believe that a new OEM choke plate sold for $494.99 on Ebay, #2490476217? That's unbeliveable. I'm glad that I have one in excellent condition, because I couldn't afford to pay that. I had someone that builds plastic models to redo mine........Keith

Rocker arms, new or regrounds?
Just got a new cam (regrind on my original) 269/269 473, should I get new rocker arms or have mine reground by Delta Cams? Some people say get new OEM, whiule others say go with the regrounds. With a 473 lift, shouldn't I get new performance springs since new stock springs, I think, are only good to a 460 lift? Of course I have to get new lash pads, I think I will need 170 or 180. Thanks Keith.

Throttle linkage
Carl, that is the linkage I was referring to. I also thought they would be the same. I will try to post a picture.

Throttle linkage
Chris, this is the linkage from the firewall to the carb closest to the firewall. This isn't the linkage between the two carbs. The angle on one of ends where it connects is not the same. The other end is the same, as well as the length. My intake isn't on the head so I not sure if it will work. Thanks Keith

Throttle linkage
Does anyone know if there is a difference in the throttle linkage for a 70-71 and 72-73? I received a new chromed linkage from a 72 model and it doesn't exactly match my 71. I thought 70-73 would be the same since all had SUs. Thanks for your input............Keith
