  1. Does anyone know who can stamp my new ID plates? Thay are an 1/8 inch or 3mm in height. Trophy shops and jewerly stores will not touch them. I'm sure someone has had their plates stamped on a total restoration. Thanks Keith
  2. To keep it original, is the rear hatch latch and striker suppose to be clear zinc or gold cad? Thanks Keith
  3. Zdreamer, where are you located in NC? That VIN is sure weird for a 9-71 build date.
  4. Zdreamer, are you sure the build date is not 9-70 instead of 9-71 for #9974? Go to zhome.com and look at the register.
  5. Late 1971.....7-71.....#38600

  8. Does anyone have a picture of the "OK" decal sticker that goes on the passenger quarter window? If not, does anyone know where on the window the decal goes? Thanks for your help. Finally finished 17 months later.

Which is the closest top post to the engine? I thought the negative was closest to the motor and the positive was up under the inspection lid. Thanks in advance......Keith

    Buy Nissan fenders.
  13. Was the correct early metal fan, 5 blades, 7 or something different? Thanks
  14. I have a 7-71 240 with a 3 hole upper thermostat housing. Is this correct? Do you have a 2 or 3 and what is the production date? Note sure what the extra hole is used for, since one of the other holes holds on the sparkplug wire loom. My lower housing only has 2 holes. Thanks Keith

My original 71 had no blue paint (overspray) on the oil pan. There was some overspray on the motor mount to chassis brackets.

Can you believe that a new OEM choke plate sold for $494.99 on Ebay, #2490476217? That's unbeliveable. I'm glad that I have one in excellent condition, because I couldn't afford to pay that. I had someone that builds plastic models to redo mine........Keith
  20. I used Dupli-Color WP 102 Graphite wheel paint. Got it at Advance Auto Parts for $5.00. It's REAL close and alot cheaper than $22 a can................Keith
  21. Just got a new cam (regrind on my original) 269/269 473, should I get new rocker arms or have mine reground by Delta Cams? Some people say get new OEM, whiule others say go with the regrounds. With a 473 lift, shouldn't I get new performance springs since new stock springs, I think, are only good to a 460 lift? Of course I have to get new lash pads, I think I will need 170 or 180. Thanks Keith.

Carl, that is the linkage I was referring to. I also thought they would be the same. I will try to post a picture.

Chris, this is the linkage from the firewall to the carb closest to the firewall. This isn't the linkage between the two carbs. The angle on one of ends where it connects is not the same. The other end is the same, as well as the length. My intake isn't on the head so I not sure if it will work. Thanks Keith

Does anyone know if there is a difference in the throttle linkage for a 70-71 and 72-73? I received a new chromed linkage from a 72 model and it doesn't exactly match my 71. I thought 70-73 would be the same since all had SUs. Thanks for your input............Keith
  25. I used the the thermal/acoustic insulation that MSA sells. Very easy to work with.
