DUI+hit & run= Screwed
I can relate. In 2002 I got hit head on at 55MPH in my 12 year old Toyota 4X4 by some scumbag in a beater 70s Chevy. Totalled the truck and messed up my back for 10 months. After he hits me the jerk gets out and runs on foot. Cops find him. He is DUI. His license is suspended and thus has no insurance. Cops take him to jail, book him and release him in the AM. He has not been seen since and has missed multiple court dates. It was clear to me that it would be a waste of time and money to sue him....blood from a turnip. (No offense to turnips.) Reality would be I'd win the suit, he wouldn't pay, and this would stay on his credit as an unpaid debt....which I'm sure is one of many. No big deal to a loser. I had comprehensive but I was still screwed. I had the truck from new and maintained it well. Insurance Co. gave me very fair price, but I could never find something as nice and that I knew the history for what the settlement was. I also had uninsured motorist which paid for my medical bills and gave me a small settlement. You may want to check to see if you have uninsured. So what can you do? Talk to your insurance company. Take this into account on future insurance decisions and when voting on stuff like jail space, repeat offender laws etc. Learn from it and move on. Obviously I'm not totally past my experience.... Best of luck!

MSA Stainless Steel Brakes Hoses
Anything from Earls, Aeroquip, Goodrich is good stuff. I'd be totally confident that the MSA lines are good quality. I wonder if the MSA hose ends are really stainless steel or if its just stainless lines. Regular -4 steel hose ends usually go for around $7.50 - $9.50 depending on the angle. Stainless steel -4 hose ends go for around $47.50ea! Looks like Earls got bought out by Holly. When did that happen? http://www.holley.com/earlsplumbing/index.html

Drilled Rotor supplier
The current asking price for the rotors is $65 for the set. Since I have not heard from tons of people on the board saying "awesome deal, fit perfect, got 40k miles out of mine", I'll probably pass on em.

Drilled Rotor supplier
Has anyone used rotors from this supplier? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=33564&item=2451585002 A set for under $100 seems like a fair price. Wondering about quality and durability. Looking at his e-bay feedback, people were happy with the rotors when they are delivered. How about after 1K miles, 5k or 10k? Any problems with rotor wear, warping or premature cracking between the drilled holes?

New to Z-cars, what's the potential?
Did a 240z sell better than the TR6. Yes. 148,615 240zs compared to 91,580 TR6s. Is the 240z a better race car than the TR6. Yes, the facts show that. But if your saying British sports cars in general could not compete on the track? Thats not the fact. In SCCA the Triumph Spitfire holds more national championships than any other model. Won yet again this year. British sports cars have won the biggest sports car race of all, Le Mans. Won again this year. Looking at Le Mans history a Japanese company Mazda, has only one once. If anyone knows of link to the LeMans class winners from 69-73 it would be interesting to look at the facts!

Source for new headlight switch
Just got out the 2003 Fall VB catalog. The list switches for 70 & 71. But no 72....or 73 (not that it would help).

Source for new headlight switch
Neither Chloe or Andy had one nor could find one. I'm going to try MSA and VB next. Then onto Too Intense. Please keep the leads for NEW switches coming! I got used one that I hope will work and get me by. I want to keep the car original and avoid putting in toggle switches or splicing in later model switch. Happy Holidays to you all! Mark

Source for new headlight switch
Good idea. Just sent her a PM. No huge hurry on the cover. I've got to get the lights working before I worry about cosmetics. Frozen puddles and snow? Guess I should stop complaining of day after day of rain..... Thanks again for all your help. I've had my Z for about 2 months now and this board has been a big help!

Best source for voltage regulator
Whats the best source for a voltage regulator for a 72 240? I see Victoria British has them for $24.95, but in my search of prior posts I read they sent a wrong one. Just last month VB sent me a different part than I ordered. Besides, I can't believe they are the least expensive. Is there some other merchant I should be giving my business to?

Steering Column Cover
My headlight switch burned this morning and melted my steering column cover. So I need to go looking for a new one. Does anyone know if the steering column covers are interchangable 70 through 73?

Which bushing kit to buy?
I'm going to replace the old rubber bushings on my 72 Z with poly-U bushings. I've done some searching and found mention of a few different kits for sale. Any suggestions which kit to buy and from whom?

Turn signals, yes again.
Prior to my original post, I did review all of the historical posts I could find on this topic. The other posts seem to have different symptoms than mine. The other posts had good advice about cleaning the switch, but my switch obviously works since the rear signals work. The other posts have good hints like checking the flasher for corrosion. But my flasher obviously works since I've got rear signals. It probably is a connection. I'm looking for some guideance from people who've delt with this before. Are there some connections that are more prone to problems than others.

Turn signals, yes again.
Hazards work and both indicator arrow lights on the dash flash. Rear turn signals work, however the fronts don't 995 of the time. I just tried it and one of the fronts worked. Tried it again and it stopped working. Flasher unit makes the standard clicking noise, but no indicator arrow lights on the dash. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Can anyone tell me where to buy the valve cover breather shown in this picture? It looks like a mini k&n filter on the top of the valve cover. http://www.schueracing.com/images/breather.jpg Thanks Mark
