POR-15 works very well! Stuff is as tuff as steel once it hardens.

I am having the same problem with my '75 280. I have replaced the halfshaft U-joints ($200.00). That didn't help. The problem seemed to get worse after I flushed the diff with fresh heavy weight oil. I just ordered a new diff mount. I will try that as well as replacing the diff with one I got off of some race buddies from a later model Z. My fear is that the problem lies in the driveshaft. Those U-joints can't be replaced. A new one with replaceable U-joints is $230.00. My family car, '92 Ford Crown Vic, had a similar problem with the loud whirrrr coming from the rear end and it was just frozen up drive shaft U-joints. The Z, however, has so much more back there that can go bad. I will let you know how all these changes work once I get them completed in the next few weeks.

I have lots of parts for 72 model z cars. If you need a part and are willing to pay for shipping I have what you need. No reasonable offer refused. Most parts are in good condition with minor rust. Doors, bumpers, deck lids, stub axles, transmissions, engines, heads, misc. steering components, etc.

Misc Z parts FOR SALE! All parts are in decent shape...ie no thru rust, but plenty of surface rust. I have doors, lots of good glass, lots of chrome, seats, dash (3ea.) rear hatch (3), drive train components, stub axles, rear ends (do not know any ratios), front suspension, gas tanks, two engines, a warped early E88 head, and many, many other misc parts. Or buy complete '72 car with factory A/C. Really good parts car for someone doing a restoration. Body is rotted really bad in places, but all original car. I will tell you condition of parts and you make me an offer. I will try to make sure you pay less than what it will cost you at the salvage yard. Will sell individual parts or complete car/take all. Will deliver complete cars locally (< 100 mile radius) otherwise must pick up. Also, I do have easy access to national truck shipping company (Watkins). You must pay shipping charges up front (this includes, but not is limited to boxing, crating, etc). I am not responsible for parts damaged or lost during shipment.
