Konig Rewinds
Well...... It's too late for pics so let me see if I can explain it. I was so DAMN mad at this that I forgot to take pics. The reason that I can't take them now is that I used some liquid weld to make sure they stayed on. I ground on the inside of the cap tabs and then bent the ends out while they were hot so they would catch on the wheel and then put the weld on the outside of the tab to secure the cap with the wheel. I hope this makes sense... :nervous: Just remember the front caps require more grinding then the rear caps do on accont of the tight fit between the front spindle caps and the wheel.... LARRY

Konig Rewinds
I've now upgraded the front brakes to the Toyota 4x4 calipers with much improved braking.... BTW the center cap and emblems I used are from MSA and the front caps require more grinding then the rear ones do...... LARRY

Konig Rewinds
My new KONIG 15x7 rims with COOPER COBRA RADIAL G/T 225-50-15. I had placed an order with MSA $630 shipped but the rims are on backorder and they have a long list of buyers and could give me no ship date. I cancelled the order and ordered them from TYLER ggtyler@yahoo.com $545 shipped. They are silver with polished lip and they look great..... A few thoughts..... They came without lug nuts so I got them at my tire shop, standard 12x1.25m. The KONIG supplied center caps will not fit the front dust cover so I had a set of larger caps with the Z center that I had for my 72 240Z and with some grinding they fit...DAMN. The front tires rubbed on my MSA type 3 air dam so with a little grinding on the rear lip of the air dam that was fixed. I also notice with the wider tire the steering is much easier..... LARRY

R200 or R180
Hi Carl, Thanks for your reply and not to be a pest but I have people telling me the have 75 or 76 280Z'S that they bought with auto trans/R-200. What diff. came with the auto trans in those 2 years??? Or did NISSAN not make an auto trans those 2 years???? LARRY

R200 or R180
So.... Is this statement correct???? 75-76 280Z'S with auto trans had a R-200 diff and the years before and after had R-180 diff with an auto trans???? If this is true anyone know the reasoning in this????? LARRY

Got 4 Volts from my Ignition and a sic moan
Fair enough...... Go to this Auto Zone link and click on Fig. 36 Engine Control Schematic 83 280ZX link. http://www.autozone.com/servlet/UiBroker?ForwardPage=/az/cds/en_us/0900823d/80/1d/1d/80/0900823d801d1d80.jsp The Black/White wire carrying 12V goes from the ign. switch to the ign. relay and the coil. What is the reading at each with ign. on???? IMO the ign. switch needs to be replaced as this is a common problem, as opposed to the the coil or relay being bad, due to the amount of use...... LARRY

Although worded a little different I noticed you posted this same question on HybridZ.org in the Chevy V-8 forum and said it was a 83 280ZX/SBC. So what exactly do you have????? LARRY

75 280Z MSA TYPE3 AIR DAM
, That's the same complaint my engine builder has as it's built for serious power but for 2 things. I had them put a very mild cam in it and that's the lowest boost pulley for that blower. I spent the money on the initial build so that any changes were not reinventing the wheel. I spin it around town " spanking " people as I did not want it for the strip nor have I ran a 1/4 mile in it yet. A change in the cam or in the boost pulley would show what you are talking about. With 347 ft. lbs of torque, believe me, starting in drive and not first gear is very smart with this set-up.A roots blower is instant power response. Thanks for you comments!! LARRY

75 280Z MSA TYPE3 AIR DAM
PyroSpark911...Yes and no...In DEC. 2002 I bought the car on e-bay from TEXAS and had it del. to CA. In the Spring of 2003 I had a new engine built to replace the tired old V-8 that it came with and had the tranny race prepped. The engine was balanced and blueprinted, bored and honed with torque plates, block resurfaced/equal decked, line honed with ARP studs, forged steel crank 3.480 stroke, forged TRW blower pistons 4.030, plasma-moly rings,ENGEL custom hyd. roller cam, special 441 Chevy heads/ ported and polished, ss valves/ bronze guides/ hardened ex. seats/ Z28 springs. HOLLEY 144 power charger at 6 lbs. boost, HOLLEY supercharger dp 700 cfm 4-barrell, 140 gpm elec. fuel pump, MALLORY comp. race 4-port adj. fuel reg., Chevy 3.0 hp comp. mini starter,MSD-6 BTM unit,SS blaster coil, and pro-billet distr., cross-flow alum. rad., FORD TAURUS 2-speed elec. fan, EDELBROOK Victor series alum. water pump, Turbo 350 trans. with 2200 stall conv./ balanced with Torrington bearings/ Raybestos blue metallic clutches/ Trans-go shift kit. Ex. from headers to side pipes upgraded. Outside mounted rpm, fuel level, and fuel pressure guages. Inside boost guage added. Waiting in my garage is a R-230 lsd I pulled from a 91 300ZXTT for when my R-200 go south.... SO........ Yes I purchased it on e-bay but NO it's not the same set-up. LARRY
