My first Z , was a '78 and it was the same color as Stephens. At the time (1984) it seemed every Z I saw was that color blue. I also worked with someone who had the exact same color on her 78. FWIW Vicky
  2. Nice Joe! The 77 has powder coated suspension and under carriage parts also, but of course it's in reds and maroons...........go figure. Your work looks fantastic. Vicky

Anybody get the little flyer yet from MSA about next years show? I was told they were mailing them out last week. I've checked the site for registration info and nothings there Vicky
  4. I don't want to diss the 2.6 but many here feel that the 2.8 is the best bet. Like what 240ZX replied. My husband has the N42/N47 set up and she is a screamer but the car is not stock by any means. I'm more of the "sideline" Z lover as I was not present during much of the build of Zrush. My questions became irritating to my husband while he was building the car so I learn as much as I can here. Vicky
  5. My opinion is if the Z you are talking about is as nice as the one in your avatar, or for that matter IS the one in your avatar, I'd put the engine that's suppose to be in that car, in other words, NO V-8's. That's been so overdone it's passe. Just my opinion, your car, do what makes YOU happy. Vicky

Another funny one is from Chris Rock I do believe. He said something about one of his buddy's being so black, that when he got out of the car the oil light came on. (This is not meant to offend anyone so don't take it that way OK) Vicky

Yeah, I had asked the question about those Nology Hotwires. $159.95 for a set of 4. Ricer gimmick I do believe. Anyway, Scott runs the NGK plugs with the MSD Super Conductor 8.5mm wires on the 77 280Z. He didn't like the Taylors for some reason or another. I believe they were not compatable with the coil he is using, at least at the time. Taylor now has a Thundervolt 10.4 mm wire that can handle 102,000 volt dielectric strength. I love the Summit magazines, they have so much stuff. Vicky

You were so ugly when you were born that the doctor slapped your momma. Vicky

Isn't the 300ZX a V-6, or did that start in 1990? 280ZX's are straight 6's. Yes, with enough money, time and patience you can make anything fit. Vicky

Will, you left out crack pipes. All early 1970 green Z's with tan interiors have crack pipes. Right Chris Buy it gramercyjam, buy it. Vicky

Well you know, it's from creepin' like a baller through da skreets of my hood, holmes. I be dodgin' dem pops in my 'sun everyday. Seriously Red-Eye, nice rims on that Z with what appears to be a bullet hole Vicky

Welcome. Looks like a bullet hole above the door handle on your 260Z. Is it? Vicky

Scott has the Centerforce II Dual Friction Clutch in his 77. I believe it's the "grabbing" power that is increased in the II. I know that there's absolutley NO slipping with this clutch. Even someone like me can rip through the gears and I'm no racer. Many other drive-line mods work with his set up so, naturally, I'm in the dark as to all the details. Vicky

Concours, AACA, ZCCA will notice, believe me. Most AACA shows, the judges don't touch your car, they ask you to open doors, hatches, inspection panels, etc. They may ask about the magnets, just depends on the judge. The ZCCA will feel your car up to the extreme. They will notice a hair on the value cover. Been there, done that. MSA is peoples choice so it doesn't matter at all. Most standard local shows, I think judges would like the idea of the time you took to get magnets. Vicky

On my repro '72, Nissan put a sholder harness on the car. Did they actually come with that in '72? I know they had the lap belt but I didn't think the shoulder harness was standard equipment in '72 (for any car). This is the kind that connects together so you can either use both or just the lap belt. Vicky

Nice car Kevin. 225's in the front, also? How does it handle with such, (at least to me), fattys on the front. That green color and those panasports just look fantastic. Vicky
  18. I agree Gavin. Up to a million for a Hemi 'Cuda is nutz. I can see 140K, but 1 miiiilllliiiioooon dollars, (as Dr Evil would say), is outlandish. There are quite a few other fine automobiles you can get for a million. Another "orphan" car that I've always liked is that AMX on the link. AMX is made by AMC, which we used to say stands for American Made Crap Vicky
  19. Great link!!! The 70's Old's Vista Cruiser, can you believe it. Check out the price for the 70 Hemi 'Cuda. Lots of nice cars. Very cool Vicky
  20. When I first got the Z's, I too called USAA since I have other vehicles and my home with them. They said no stated value insurance Vicky
  21. As with all insurance companys the final decision is up them them. But why lie about it. You must submit pictures of your car to them when you sign up for insurance. If you have an accident and total your Z, I can almost bet that they would send an adjuster out to verify the "agreed value" of your claim. If they see a rust bucket, you aren't going to get 10K for you car. They have been in the classic car insurance business for awhile and are probably quite aware of people who claim to have something they don't. Insurance Fraud is Not Cool!!! Vicky
  22. Sorta true, but not just for trailer queens. Most people are missing the whole point of "specialty or classic" insurance. Hagerty and others assume that you will be extra cautious with your car. They want you to watch were you park it, don't rat race through the streets and keep the car stored in a safe area. This is why they "agree" to maxium value for the cars. Some insurance companys wont even cover a car that's 30 years old and used as a daily driver, at least not with the value that we as Z owners feel our cars are worth. Zrush is limited because the car is valued at so much and would cost well over 50K to replace. Neither the insurance company nor I want to have to replace that car. I pay over $1000 for 2 Z's and a car hauler so you can just imagine what a standard insurance company would charge me. Vicky
