  2. Yes! Perfect! The "floating" directors chair. The car drives up, stops on a lift. Owner exits proceeds to open the doors, hatch and hood, then walks away. We, in our floating directors chair (of course, with cup holder) have a lever to position our inspection chair to go over, under and around the car. All non S30 vehicles drive up on what they think is the lift, but we fool them and it's actually a trap door, thus thinning out the riff-raff that we, as lazy spectators, don't want to view. Brilliant!! Vicky

What a fantastic car. It's so pristine Reminds me of my friends '74 TVR. That little Toyota looks like it's just popped out of a time machine. Don't believe I've ever seen one before. Bravo on the link Ben :classic: Vicky
  4. My Hagerty Policy has in big black print that the vehicle will not be covered if it is used in ANY type of racing event. Front page of the policy. It's all very straight forward in my opinion. Vicky
  5. Better double check with whatever specialty insurance company your inquiring about. Most of them will not cover a car thats used for racing purposes. What about you vintage racer guys, how is your Z covered? Vicky
  6. Mine is my license plate. Vicky
  7. We get on the 10 in north Florida. It takes us all the way to L.A. Then Scott gets on some other funky freeways (210?, 55? 57? can't remember) into Anaheim. Exit on Katella Avenue then right to the host hotel, Ramada I believe. They provide lots of trailer parking. Vicky
  8. We will be leaving on Saturday (4/16) and getting into California on Tuesday (4/19). I want to be able to cruise the PCH or some other nice road. We all can meet and greet the day before the show and do something, eats and a Z cruise. We can't do much after the show Sunday as we have to load the car on the trailer and drive all the way back to Florida (yuck). If Saturday's event is lame, maybe we could do something then. I guess we have to wait and see what the event schedule will be. Z ya in 6 months :classic: Vicky
  9. Isn't there some sort of disclaimer, for lack of a better word, at the begining of the VB catalog that states they are in no way associated with Datsun and/or Nissan? I've always thought VB had non OEM items. I haven't seen one of their catalogs in years so I could be wrong. Vicky

That is so true Alfa. Chris has more guts than most of us to take on such a job. "From Rust to a Ruby" that's the title of the widescreen version of the Hollywood hit about how to restore a Z. The car is truly a diamond in the rough. Vicky

I was hoping this guy might have some old Z car art but I didn't see any. Has some pretty cool other artwork however. www.frecksautoart.com I did see the Mario Andretti against Steve McQueens team at Sebring back on March 12, 1970. Vicky
  18. Man I can't wait! Next year the MSA show is going to be big, what with the 35th anniversary of the Z! The dates are April 22nd, 23rd and 24th. We're comming back out with the 77 280Z. Can't compete but we can dislpay. Hope to meet some of you guys and maybe do a cruise or something. Who else is going to be there? Vicky
  19. Hagerty is the company we have on the 2 Z's AND our car hauler. We shopped rates at every classic/specialty insurance company around. Hagerty is great as they attend numerous auctions and keep a close eye on the sale price that eventually helps to determine the so called "agreed value" of your car. Agreed Value is for anything up to 50K after that, you must prove the value of your auto. Most of these types of specialty carriers require that you have separate and current insurance coverage on your other vehicles Vicky

Dammit, what have I stepped in!?!? I can say I've had my bone stock 72 240Z up to around 85+ on the interstate. She felt smooth as silk but I did feel the front end comming up. My husband has had is ultra modified 77 280Z past 100 on the country roads. Very inZane and very dumb. We all talk as if this is cool but if you blow a tire at these speeds your dead or someone else will be Take it to the track IMO Vicky

The Camaro and Firebird are both GM products so I'm guessing that most parts are interchangeable. I always thought the front fenders on the Firebird had a more pronounced body line. I will have to check and compare the two cars the next time I'm at a show. Never really paid attention to them because they are a dime a dozen around here. Vicky

I'm sitting here staring at those parts and for the life of me I can't even tell. Looks like something you find on the side of the road after a car accident. Maybe off the 1965 220Z.......cha...........rrrright. Vicky

Is that what the BB guys call a "Dumps". Where the exhaust just dumps right near the tranny? Vicky

I lost all my roach clips through the rust hole in the floor board Remember they used to give those feathered roach clips out at the fairs. How obvious is that. Now all you get is some cheapo toy My Mach 1 had no radio or 8-track, so I bought a Pioneer Super Tuner with the big dial...remember those. That was smokin' radio technology back then. It was mounted above the drivers left knee. No place else to mount it in that car. Vicky
