Ebay: Help, what is this?
I'm sitting here staring at those parts and for the life of me I can't even tell. Looks like something you find on the side of the road after a car accident. Maybe off the 1965 220Z.......cha...........rrrright. Vicky

Is that what the BB guys call a "Dumps". Where the exhaust just dumps right near the tranny? Vicky

I lost all my roach clips through the rust hole in the floor board Remember they used to give those feathered roach clips out at the fairs. How obvious is that. Now all you get is some cheapo toy My Mach 1 had no radio or 8-track, so I bought a Pioneer Super Tuner with the big dial...remember those. That was smokin' radio technology back then. It was mounted above the drivers left knee. No place else to mount it in that car. Vicky

Craig, how funny is that! Mine was a 73, bright yellow with the black spoilers and stripes. I had all the same goodies mentioned above. It was also my first car. Bought it in '78. Same rust problems as the Z's however. But screaming fast :devious:. It was my guaranteed $100 bracket winner at the Friday nite drags at Sunshine Speedway. Vicky

Anyone out there remember the Thrush Mufflers and Cherry Bombs of the 70's. I had a dual exhaust Mach 1 with a massive 351 Cleveland with Thrushys. Thought we were so cool back then. You'd let off the gas and they'd "pop, pop, pop". How cheesy is that now. Thrush mufflers used to come with the little road runner type bird sticker. Anybody old enough to remember that? Vicky

American Big Block V-8's, yes a nice Flowmaster exhaust or something. Our sixes, medium exhaust. Ricers and 4 bangers, completely seal up the pipe Don't like the "angry bee" type muffler or tip they use. JMO Vicky

Coolest cars of all time...
Geez, Stephen how lucky were you to ride in something like that. My most favortie muscle car is the Boss 429. Ford made that engine and plopped it in the Mustang so they could compete in Nascar (not with the 'stang I beleive) . Apparently the rules were/are that the automobile manufacturer must produce at least 500 of the cars, or at least the engine, for the public in order for the car to be accepted in Nascar. Is this true, as I'm not much of a roundy round fan. Vicky

might be the one!
Go look at it Patrick. 450 miles is not far to drive for a potential purchase. Check it out thoroughly as it has been used in rallys and it's in snowy Canada. I think it's beautiful 'cause I have one the same color, #112 Lime-Yellow. 12k is pricey, 10K maybe. You never know, this could be the one! Good luck and please report back to us. Vicky

Plus, I think you really need some type of "back pressure" that an exhaust system provides, no? Vicky

Thermotime Switch (Trivia)
Isn't the fuel injection on the Z's a "Bosh Jetronic" or something like that? Bosh isn't a Japanese brand either. Yes, No? Vicky

Tokico Adjustable Shocks - Advantages/Disadvantages
To destroy your kidneys, do as my husband has done. Tokicos set on 3, 1" heavy duty sway bars, polyurethane bushings, Suspension Techniques lowering springs (2"), adjustable front and rear strut tower braces, 4 wheel adjustable camber kit and a LSD. :hurt: Very, very, very rough ride and beware of a pebble in the road. The letter "Z" Registered for Nissan?
Thanks Alfa for your clarification. So no other car company can produce a vehicle and call it a "Z". They just can't have a badge with "Z" alone on their car right? Vicky

Cleaning overspray off of plastic??????
From a females point of view, nail polish remover will also take paint off plastic. But nail polish remover has a drying agent in it so I would do a small test spot as Tom has suggested. Vicky

Central FLorida Paint shops
Jeff, we know all kinds of body shops and painters over here in the Tampa Bay area. This area is the haven for primo shops. How much do you want to spend? My husband knows paint quality and he can vouch for these shops as we've seen the cars that have come out of the paint booth. Vicky

The letter "Z" Registered for Nissan?
I don't know how BMW owners refer to their cars but I refer to them as Big Money Wasted . MikeW's find does show a Nissan website, hmmm. Maybe Nissan does hold some kind of rights to the letter. If you look at alot of products for Z cars that have the "Z" in the advertisement, it normally as the circle with the r to the right of the Z, Meaning registered trademark, no? Vicky

Nice Green early 240z on Ebay
Chris is taking his car back to "Factory" (oh geez, I used that word) specs as much as possible. The ZCCA rules are an excellent example of the different mods/classes for the Z cars. I needed an oil filter for the 240Z. I figured Fram or whatever will do but Scott would not here of it. I had to order (got a couple) OEM Nissan filters with the Japanese writing and all. "We must keep the 72 240Z pure and untouched" he says. Dammit there goes my V-8 swap idea :cheeky: I think that Z on ebay is typical of what most owners did to their Z when they originally got them back in the day. Vicky
