Os Giken TG24-B1 heads
Why can't someone come up with a supercharger for the L28. That's what I want Vicky

Footrest?
I've heard that this "dead pedal" is for balance when you take a hard curve. Many of our non Z owner friends get all excited when they talk about that pedal. "You do know what that pedal down there is for don't you". I've heard this a million times from them. Poor Chevelle owners slide all over their bench seats when they take a curve because they don't have that pedal Vicky P.S. My '94 4-Runner has the same pedal, haven't auto crossed that yet, might flip

fuel injection or carbs?
Can we also say that what you intend to do with your Z makes a difference too. I've always understood that for flat out, instant speed, like for drag racing you want carbs. For on and off throttle, like auto-cross, rallys and the such FI is better. Personal preference always prevails I guess. Vicky

Murphy's Law and one shitty day
A little off topic, but anyway...The first car I ever bought via a bank loan was my 1978 280Z in 1983. It was listed in the NADA guide with a loan value of $4,750. Wish I would have saved a copy of that page. Ahhh, the good ole days. Bought it off a guy that was selling it to by a Corvette. His loss was my gain! Vicky

Tranny Leak
What are the possible locations that the tranny could be leaking from. Can it leak where the shifter goes into the gearbox? If so, do you have to drop the tranny to fix this or can you go in through the boot? Vicky

Nice Original 1972
Was that center console armrest offered in '72? I wish a member could go look at this car and report back. It looks like it's been stored in a time capsule. One of the best Z's I've seen in a long time. I'd think a high end auction would be the place to sell that car if it's all that it appears to be. Vicky

Was the 240z designed for America?
The S30 was designed for all who love a low cost, high perfomance sports car. I believe the Z changed the sports car industry in the US more than anywhere else though. European countries already had high end coupes. We could really only claim the Corvette in the 60's. The introduction of the Z car here in the 70's ruined the sales figures for Triumphs and Jaguars. The Z is one of the 10 most influential cars of all time. This is true no matter where you are in the world. Vicky

How do you install headers? Underneath or remove intake?
I also agree with Sean240, this will take some patience. I suggest that you get a couple of gaskets. I say this because when I installed mine I tore one. One other suggestion or option that you might consider is using thew Stage 8 Locking fastener system so once you get them on, the nuts will never back out from vibration and creating leaks. Good luck and have fun. LOL Scott

Mark Eggers V8 Z in Hot Rod Magazine
Thanks for the clarification Chris. See we don't have to worry about all that stuff with our inline sixesLOL I can see where it would be confusing.... at least for dumb old me. Vicky

RACQ Motoring Day
I recognize the white one directly next to the Z as the same car the Griswalds drove in National Lampoons European Vacation. Remember when it got stuck in between the two buildings. Funny as hell.

New-age punishment for kids
Many of todays kids are out of control because they don't get a good smack on the azz. Now a days parents are afraid to scold their kids for fear they'll be reported for child abuse. Growing up I was afraid of my dad. I knew I could get away with murder with my mom, but dad, no way. I remember sassing my mother once and my dad spanked my rear until I couldn't sit down. I never sassed my mother again. I wasn't abused, beaten or harmed, just disciplined and taught respect. Vicky

Was the 240z designed for America?
What about the exhaust manifold running down the left hand side of the S30 near the drivers foot. Does this add to the discussion that the Z was originally designed as a right hand drive vehicle or is this just a coincidence? Vicky

Everybody just drops right in
Bill, you're going to be a real "chick magnet" when you get your Z done. Your license plate needs to say "Bill's Thrill"ROFL Vicky

Everybody just drops right in
We attend alot of car shows through out Florida and hear this exact topic often. We are the only Z people amongst a sea of hot rods, muscle cars and fine vintage classics. Every show we attend, someone comes up to us and says they owned a Z and wished they never sold it. They say it's the best car they ever drove, couldn't kill the engine but the body rust was the cars down fall (which we all know). This all comming from people that are driving $50,000 hot rods and even more expensive rare muscle cars and high end classics. The Z was the jumping off point for many show car enthusiasts :classic: Vicky

Garage or Storage Gotta know
Same set up exactly as 2-4-T-Z-MAN. I've always been nervous about storing a car at a storage unit, if that's what you mean by "storage". How do you know what the guy has in the unit next to yours? What if the place goes up in flames because a husband or wife is angry because their mate took all the funiture and stored it? Sounds dumb, but I've seen those storage centers go up in flames and wondered if anyone lost a fine car. I like having my Z's close to me right in my garage:love: Vicky
