Witnesses to the tragic race say the Camaro driver was starting off from the green light. The Corvette driver cut off the witnesses to drag the Camaro. So the Corvette driver was the instigator, but the Camaro driver should have left it alone. The newspaper never mentioned anything about the what happened to the Corvette driver. I expect he saw the accident in his rear view mirror and high-tailed it out of there and was long gone. To me, he's just as responsible for the deaths as the Camaro driver. These types continue to do this until they kill themselves.

That's a great deal. Why so cheap for what appears to be a very clean car?:classic: My brother has an 87, same color also. I'm fairly new to this site but have been around early generation Z cars for a long time. Welcome back......and again great deal you got there.

Victor That's excellent!!! I'm glad the Z only has minor damage, by that I mean, not dented up or for that matter wrecked. I just typed you this morning saying your car will be returned to you. (Now I'm saying I will win the lottery tonite, ha, ha, I wish). No really, the power of all the positive hope by your friends on this site must have had something to do with the return of your yellow pride and joy. What a great ending to such a terrible event. GLAD IT'S BACK!! Scott

Victor The guy who stole your beloved Z is now starting to surface. Criminals are to dumb to lay low. He will continue to try an attempt to cash your checks and he WILL be caught! I believe that your Z will be found and it will be returned to you. Keep the (Z) Faith. Your phone will ring with the good news my friend.

I agree with kyteler, It's a shame you want to part the car out. An early gen Z car that isn't a basket case as far as the body is concerned, is a rare find. It's too bad you don't live closer to Florida, I have a 78 280Z with a good motor, trans. and R200 rear. If you are interested in these parts , send me a message. The only thing that I would do to the motor is a quick re-build on it, just to re-fresh it. It's an EFI and the harness is OK but might want to change injector ends. Kinda a cheap repair. Real sorry to hear about your loss, but don't give up just yet there might be some others that could help out. Just hate like hell to see the car laid to rest.
  6. I believe that some cars are a good investment. I wouldn't pay $100,000+ for ANY Dodge Viper. For a classic Hemi powered Super Bee, Charger or Road Runner, yes. I think it would be fun to strut around there like I had all kinds of bucks and just dream of being able to bid on something there. Instead I crawl though mounds of junk cars at the bone yard to find my Z parts.

Now who would really buy something like that on ebay...some far off government? That has to be the most ridiculous thing I've seen on e-bay. Sure could ship alot of Z-Cars on that. What's next, the Saturn 5 Rocket? Go figure

This article is right out of our newspaper here today and I immediately thought of this thread. A 56 year old man in a 1995 Chevy Camaro Z28 was racing a Corvette on a city street. The speed limit was 45mph and they were topping speeds of 90mph. The Camaro driver lost control, crossed over the median and killed 3 kids in another car and also killed his wife riding in the Camaro with him. This is what HIS attorney said: "We know he was going faster than the speed limit. The problem was that the rear tires of his Camaro lost traction, sending him out of control and into an oncoming car, killing four people. Perhaps a finicky traction control system is to blame." Can you believe it!!! This is why some attorneys make me furious!!!!! :tapemouth

I must admit that I was excited to hear that Nissan was bringing back the Z. I expected a 340Z, not a 350Z. It took some getting used to. Comparing the 350Z to the 240Z is like comparing the young, slim Elvis to the fat, bloated, overweight Elvis. I can't even think of the 350Z as a "Z". Even the Z emblem is shaped different. No offence to any Elvis fans or 350Z fans, OK

You lost me with 350Z. I agree with 240zx. Now lets move on to the next more mature subject.

Thanks all and Phred.......you da man. I better listen to you now rather than hear you later. Just ask and you shall receive a plethera of info on this site. Who needs a freaking mechanic.

I have to agree with Marty on the selection. The other styles are bordering on "The Fast and The Furious" look. Just my opinion. I do like those rims:classic:

While flipping through the Summit catalog I see the SplitFire 3 spark plugs at $5.99 each. Has anyone used these on their Z and if so, did you notice any difference, then say from the NGKs or whatever other brand you were using? $5.99 is a bit pricey so I would like to know if you guys think they are any better then NGKs.

Datto If you look in my gallery, you'll see a shot of the door panel. The window cranks on my Z were purchased from a Hot-Rod shop, I believe it's called "Little Joe's Hot Rod Shop". The spline fit perfect. I replaced the door latch opener also. I think you can find these types of set ups at any modification shop. Good Luck in your search.

Welcome Black Beaut, always loved a Black car. You're among the most knowledgable people (not me) around when it comes to Z cars on this site. These guys know more about the Z car than Nissan ever did. Again, very nice car you have there.

Whats anybodys opinion on running aviation fuel in their Z. The local airport (not a major airport) has fuel with a 110-112 octane rating. Would you mix half with pump gas (93 octane) or would you run a tank full of 110 octane every once in a while. I've always heard that you should run the highest octane available from the pump in our Z cars.

Has anyone out there done any business with Jim Wolf Technology Inc in El Cajon California? If so, can you tell me what you thought of their service.

Went to the local Chevy dealer last week because the S-10 was recalled due to a wiper motor flaw. While there I "Pushed the Button" but didn't win.....naturally. Anyway has anyone seen that new Chevy Truck, I think it's called the SST. It's in the new Chevy commercial which is actually pretty cool with all the cars running up on the Car Hauler. The one that they had on the lot was $55,000.00! For a truck!?!?. It's really a cross between a car and a truck, sort of a Cruck.
  19. There are no guarantees when it comes to theft, except "I guarantee I can steal it". If someone wants something bad enough, they'll get it even with LoJack and On Star. Locks are ment to keep honest people honest. On Star can be disabled by popping the fuse. This was told to me by a Chevy Dealer who also spoke of the "Big Brother" syndrome.

That is a very, very nice Z. I guess the whole blurb on "The Last Samuri" is a plug for the movie, which by the way, I've heard hasn't even hit the 100 million mark yet. Unusual for a Tom Cruise movie. Anyway, that is a nice car........what are they asking?
  21. When I was in high school, many, many years ago, we used to take the coil wire off to keep others from taking our ride. This also used to work for friends who wanted to drive after drinking way to much.

Lo-Jack is a tracking system that is placed in your car. When the vehicle is stolen the local police (If they are equiped) can track the movement of the car.

Yes Victor, I've seen that car that optimaxtech is referencing. You CAN paint it yellow. Very nice car with a great price. But maybe we're speaking to soon. The car might very well be returned to you. Lo-Jack should be on all our pride and joys, as this could happen to any of us.
