Hit by lightning and burned............now that's funny, as long as no one was hurt. Special order Z car with a rotary engine, NOT. I've always heard that the rotary engine was kinda crappy. That's my .01 worth

Just flipping through an auto magazine and I see where a 1967 L-88 vette sold at last years Mecum auction for $640,000. For a Corvette! Of course, this included the buyer's premium paid to the auction company. Am I missing something here.

From the looks of that vehicle, I'd rather have the lock & chain, rather than the whole dam car.

Now thats freaking funny. Probably would have blown out your suspension too.

I think that's very sad. The parents are to blame for letting that kid get so fat.

We need a Southeast in that poll. I live in New Port Richey Florida. By marking the Eastcoast, I feel like I live where it snows.....and I don't want to live where it snows.

The introduction of our marvelous Z car was the demise of many cars in the 70's. Believe it or not the Z nearly put Triumph out of business. Jag sales declined. The Opel never really took off. This is all based on price, performance and reliability. As stated by many professional auto enthusiasts the Z car (240Z) is one of the 10 most important cars in automotive history. As we all know the Z-Car blew many auto manufacturers away. There's not one car show that I go to that someone doesn't come up to me and say that the Z car was all the rage in the 70's. But we all knew that :classic:

My first Z was a 1978 280Z. When I brought it home the first thing my mother said was that it sounded like a sewing machine!!! I guess she had the right to say that because she drove a 1975 Caddy with a 502. Kinda really made me mad, as I was so proud of my cherry Z. Come to find out it was an gasket leak on the manifold. Tightening the bolts cured the ticking. Had the same problem with my 1973 Mach I, but that was noisy lifters. Even after the ticking fix, mother still said my Z sounded like a sewing machine. Parents can be so cruelLOL
  11. Hey datsunfreak, that's a pretty neat shot of your new purchase there. The car looks very clean, even in a nite shot. Keep us all posted as to your future project. Again, very nice Z

That's interesting about Jesse James. Must be nice to get arrested for money laundering (if true) and STILL get to drive around in a Lambo.

I believe you can drive with those foreign plates on the FRONT of your car here in Florida. I've seen them on many Jags and Porsches. They just have to be dead plates. I have a plate that was on my 78 280Z on the front of my 454 Chevy Dually, it says "DAT 280Z". I verified with the police that it was OK prior to putting it on my truck. I suppose in some states that run front and back plates this would not be allowed, obviously. Hi there 26th-Z. Brrr, cold here in Fla, 40 degree weather kills meLOL

The state of Florida has almost 90 different types of plates. I think they should offer a "Collector" plate for vehicles that are worthy. You could have the year of you car along with the collector design. The cops are complaining about all our different plate styles. You can't tell where anyone is from anymore. To me that's nothing new in Florida, what with all the tourists. It's rare to see a genuine Florida tag anymore.

I never really noticed if they did. After they finished the car around 12am, on the final build nite, Jesse took the car out in the parking lot and did donuts. I forgot to look for 2 seats, but I'm sure he did. Of course he was the one to drive the car up against a jet boat that was next to him on the water. That's when the tranny blew.

We used to have "Collector" plates. But they issued them to EVERY car that was 20 years or older. Many of the collector car people flew into a rage and the state dropped them. It was funny to drive down the road and see a rusted out, smoking 1972 Ford pick-up with a "Collector" plate.

When the show first started they were taking some of the creations that weren't destroyed on tour. They were here at Universal Studios. Some he has given away. The one's that are trashed are sitting behind his shop. That's were he got the tranny for the boat-car. It was out of another car that they wrecked.

A beeper that sounds like "In 5 seconds this car will self destruct"LOL

Here in Florida at alot of the car shows, they have vendors that sell the vintage plates. I've seen them on alot of very old show cars, like from the 30's & 40's. I do believe in Florida the car has to be at least 20 years old in order to put a vintage plate on. It would be cool to find the year AND state for our Z cars. Most of those old vintage plates are as ugly as the cars there on, but that's vintage I guess.

Be prepared. You've been warned about "Pippa" They really don't show to much of him/her (thank God) but when they do, it's, well, it's, I really don't know what to say.

Yes, I too was stoped in my tracks on that one. Very touching. I always kinda though Jesse was sort of an S.O.B., but he proved me wrong last night.

Of course he's excused, he's getting rid of the Spec V AND keeping the Z!!! Very smart move.

Was that a real wooden leg? I thought it was a tatoo. Honestly, I didn't want to look to hard at it, as I was having dinner at the time.

I also see this with my 72 240Z that's Lime Green. In the bright sunshine it's eye blinding fluorescent yellow, but in overcast weather or dim lighting it's bile green. I always hope for sunny days with that car as the bile green is just awful.

Did anyone watch last nights show. Pretty cool conversion, bummer about the tranny blowing out. Who/What was the he/she.....Pippa I think its name was. Now that just freaked me out. I'll take that Lambo that Jesse drove off in.
