Source for 280Z rotors
Hey Tomohawk, I've been thinking about changing my rotors on my '77. MSA carries some but I also found some in the Summit Racing catalog. I was looking at either Brembo or Wildwoods. I think they come in crossed drilled / slotted with a four piston calipers. I would call customer service to find out if they have them for your application. Their web address is summitracing.com or their toll free number is 1-800-230-3030. Hope this helps you out. Let me know what you find out.

"The Run"
Has anyone seen the DVD titled "The Run". It shows a 350Z running flat out through the streets of Prauge (I think that's how you spell it). I don't like the 350Z at all, but the DVD is awesome. I'd love to do that through the streets of my town in my '77 280Z. We called it rat-racing. :devious:

So you wanted to drag you're zed!
Another bit of TF info...a TF dragster pulls more G's than the Space shuttle at lift-off!

240ZG on EBAY JAPAN
I have to agree with Smokey on that one. I don't much care for the g-nose or those awful flares. But it is a beautiful car. Hey Smokey, I'd much rather have that "Black Pearl" your soon to aquire. Can you tell I'm damn jealous of you.

83 280zx for sale?
Then you've taken care of your motor. That's what I meant by maintaned. Many moons ago I read about a guy that had an old Datsun Truck that had around 500,000 miles on it. He obviously took care of his engine. Body was shot , but the engine still putted along.

78 Black Pearl Z
Smokey Sounds and looks like the real deal. Take it for a test drive and don't be shy about getting on it. After the test drive park it on a level surface and see if there are any major leaks. If I lived up in NC, I'd be all over that car. Cash talks, so maybe if you show up with a wad of bills....say 8 G's, he just might let you have it. Good Luck and I'm envious of your great find! What a way to start out the new year, with a super clean Black Pearl in your garage! :classic:

A Real Shed
Kyteler, I like the azz-end of that C110. Kinda looks like backside of an 60's or 70's era Muscle car. Very cool, very Hi-Pro

Hope you listen to decent music and not that pounding rap junk that I here go by my house at 2 am:devious: I like what you carry your stereo system around in.........a nice Z.

78 Black Pearl Z
Yeah, I have to agree. Pin-striping is not my bag either. It's a 70's thing as so many of the cars in that era had it. The Black Pearl is nice, but the ZX's that followed where to "Disco" for me with all that two-tone paint, plush interior and fancy switches and buttons. Talk about an electrical nightmare.

weather stripping
MSA sells the weather stripping kits. Don't skimp on this or you'll find yourself with leaks or ill fitting rubber. Been there, done that.

78 Black Pearl Z
Smokey Check out the info on zhome.com on the Black Pearl. The color code matches. It seems to be the real deal but I would negotiate the price due to the ding on the car.

78 Black Pearl Z
The carpet by the seats looks kind of reddish, you know like when black interior has faded. Maybe it's just the photo.

Ouch!
That picture really hurts. I'm hoping it's someones racer and not their street driver. The way they're lifting it off the trailer reminds me of how they lower a casket into a grave. My rating is due to the pain I feel for the car.

Koito Headlights
MSA in California might have them as well as Courtesy Nissan in Texas. Courtesy Nissan even had a OEM drivers side window for my 77 Z.

R180 & R200 Gear Ratios
Can anyone tell me what the stock gear ratio was in the R180 rearend and the R200 rearend. Also, did the gear ratio change with the year of the Z even though they had the R180 or R200 chunk.

Green Z Upload Photo
It's something that I sure would love to have. Generally it's someone who has lots and lots of money and they have purchased unique cars throughout their life. If I ever win the Lotto, that would be one of the first things I would do. Purchase collectable cars.

Green Z Upload Photo
I went on the web site that is advertising that Green 240Z which was recently uploaded. Nice car. They're asking $18,000 and it's from a private collection. The web address is CarPoint.com.au. To bad it's not in the states, as it appears to be a very nice Z. Cars that are for sale from private collections are usually the ones to check out. I have a few friends that have purchased cars from private collections and they have turned out to be well worth the money.

280z bumpers
We tried keeping the bumper shocks on but they extended out too far.

280z bumpers
Steveo77, 2ManyZ's was right. I purchased a complete aero kit from MSA and fabricated steel bumpers behind the kit. I used two by quarter inch square tubing and fabricated it to fit the contour of the aero kit on both the front and rear. I mounted them using the same bumper shock mounts and kept the crash bar slightly away from the inside of the aero kit so there would be no vibration issues possibly cracking the fiberglass. Also, we capped off the ends of the bumper pieces and filled them with ordinary play sand to give the crash bars additional strength. Not only did I do this for safety reasons but Haggerty Insurance Co. would not insure the car if it didn't have some type of protective bumpers thus reducing the repair costs of the car if it had been in either a front or rear collision. Thankz 2ManyZ's for the help.:classic:

240Z in movies
Does anyone remember the movie "The Warriors". I think it came out in 1979. Well, when the Warriors are trying to get back to Coney Island, they have to go through some "turf" thats home to a gang called the Orphans. Before they fight the Orphans, it shows a few of the Warriors leaning up against a rotted out Z. I've seen that movie a hundred times and that's the first time I've noticed it.
