California Crackdown on Modified Cars
Look at Indian Larry, the famous bike builder who was recently killed while horsing around on a bike. Such a shame. Vicky

Whats this car worth?
I hope I didn't insult you Chris, I didn't even think of you when I was typing away. Just stating my view from dealing with cars, car collectors, car sales and car shows. (And not just Z cars) Most of us can pretty much say that you are the only guy we know with consecutive LOW vins's. How cool is that! Still friends?? :nervous: Vicky

Whats this car worth?
Depends how you swing. Some people on this site buy low VIN # Z's and pay what they need to get the car, even if it's in need of a heavy resto. I could really care less about VIN#'s and would perfer to start with a car that been well maintained for my resto project. Terrible truth of the matter is that only certain rare automobiles really matter when it comes to VIN's and numbers matching. You will get many opinions on this I'm sure. Hard to determine a fair price without any photos. FWIW Vicky

Substitute for M.C. caps?
Can you get new ones and then have them clear coated? That should help keep them looking fresh and new. Just a thought Vicky

Does my clutch look right with 7K miles?
I'd think you'd have that "I smell clutch" and know you're doing something wrong before that much damage could happen. Yikes.

What Car does Speed Racer Drive?
Was there a "Testarossa" in the 60's? Vicky

240Z with a Sunroof
The Scarab has a sunroof made by "Z-Lid". Remember that company. The literature is so cool, wicked 70's stuff. I'll have to take a picture of the plaque that's installed infront of the Z-Lid inside. It has far out 70's writing and design. Vicky

series 1
I like the rims. It's nice to see something other then the "flowery" type rims everyone puts on their Z. Those give the car a nice mean stance.

Classic car destruction.
I wonder how cars like that are insured. I know most classic car carriers won't cover your vehicle if it's raced in any form. But you'd think those guys have some type of coverage. Very sad indeed. Vicky

05 convention-the great northeast z adventure!
Ahhh, memories of the days when you could rent a Hertz Mustang. Most people took them to the drag strip and returned (or at least tried) them with the rear tires nearly in shreads. I do believe the 350Z would be returned with a "tire feathering" problem these days. .Wasn't that a major complaint on most of those cars. Have fun Chris, wish we could make it again. Vicky

Crystal headlamp comversion kit for a buck?
Did you notice that along with the clear center bulb there's what appears to be a tiny blue bulb along the upper rim of the light. If you're looking for the modern look that the newer BMW's, Mercedes and Caddys have just go by a set of the "Cool Blue" bulbs sold at most auto parts stores. That way you're not taking a chance and you know it will work. We have them in the 77 and they are fantastic. FWIW Vicky

I got my new beauty ('73 240Z)
Man that hurts the ol' eyeballs . It's amazing how the Z can take a hit that would disable most cars but yet the Z survives :classic: . One day that car will be pristine. Thanks for not giving up on it and sending it to the crusher like some people would do. Much luck. Free is a great price for just about anything! Vicky

Carl the Bambi-Killer...
Maybe he left us for the Pinto forums. Has to be lots of exciting talk on those sites, like "How I got hit in the rear end and still survived the exploding gas tank". I sure hope is doing fine. Vicky

clock not work'n
Yes but it's such an easy fix when the clock quits working. Reach through the glovebox and change the battery..............and I can even borrow one out of the TV remote if need be! Or vice versa Vicky

ZMax Power Formula
I remember seeing some of the local stock car racers here at Sunshine Speedway pouring transmission fluid down the carb. They claimed it worked as good as anything you could buy out there for cleaning out the engine. One thing I've read is you have to be careful of some of the engine cleaners or additives because they effect the perfomance of spark plugs. Who knows.............car folklore or redneck remedys. explain this vin#
Now that would be one of the dumbest things I've heard of. What would be the point? Maybe a Japan sticker for a Japanese car would be neato but other then that.... :stupid: Maybe it's part of that cars custom look Vicky
-
explain this vin#
That "NL" sticker on the back means the Z has been overseas. The Netherlands (sp) possibly? Vicky

How Close Are Our VIN #'s
Tomohawk the local dealer might laugh in your face about retrieving original paperwork on that old of a car. I can tell you you might have better luck with Nissan North America. I have paperwork in the Scarab (1977 280Z), the build date is 1/77 and Nissan North America could only provide the date the warranty went into effect which was April of 1977, that tells me the car was sold in April of 1977. That's about all you're probably going to get, even if that. Good luck though :classic: Vicky
