What do you think of this look?
That's MSA new air dam, right? I think it looks kind of "thick" but I bet once your car is all done and painted blue it will look great. For a heavily modded Z those types of air dams look fine IMO. Me, I like the little front spook and that type of spoiler you have. It's just the right amount of candy on a Z car. As others here have said build your car to impress yourself. Vicky

If there is a better looking Zcar, please show me.
Hey Matt we all saw and picked over that car about 4 months ago when it was at Southern Hot Rods (or something like that) Auction. Looks fantastic on the surface but we saw it underneath, It's a mess. I think the only thing that makes that Z look different are the rims. I love 'em. Gives the car a beefy look. So many people put flowery rims on the Z. Those are Torque Thrusts(?) it think. If I were to purchase that car or any car for that matter, I always start from the underside up. It tells you what kind of care the car has had. We determined that car has at one time been "rode hard and put away wet", if you know what I mean. FWIW Still a nice show piece. Vicky

New and improved! Bimonthly poll of the month
Along with not ever seeing the 240Z emblem, I believe the designer of the 350Z never saw a 240Z :tapemouth Vicky

How Close Are Our VIN #'s
After reading how close texasz and daddz VINS are, I thought it would be kind of neat to see if any other members here have Z's that might be consecutive. Here are my VIN's 1972 240Z production date 05/72 VIN#HLS3080428 1977 280Z production date 12/76 VIN#HLS30366953 1977 280Z production date 01/77 VIN#HLS30374288 (Scarab) Vicky

drooool....
Yes the 280Z does have a one piece armrest/handle on both sides. I remember my 78 always having the problem of the fake chrome piece never staying attached to the door. Everytime you shut the door the thing would slip down on the handle. Vicky

New and improved! Bimonthly poll of the month
Ah yes Will, I forgot that darn plate, ruins the whole car. I guess I better check modified . Speaking of that plate (not wanting to hijack the thread either) I wonder why Nissan used the 350Z "Z" design rather than the original "Z" on those. The 350Z would not be out for another 7 years. Vicky

For "modifications" sake. My 240Z IS bone stock. For example a modified battery would be like the Optima Red Top Gel Battery but my Z has what is considered to be a stock plain old black Nissan battery. The oil filter is a Nissan (with Japanese writing :classic: ) rather than a K&N or Fram. Tires are what would have been simular to 1972 standard issue. I classed my 240Z as "bone stock" because it has been restored as close as possible to plain ol' stock with what equipment PierreZ's could install. Notice I didn't say the "F" word so as not to offend anyone :cheeky: Vicky

I'd rather do a single REAR tire burn out in a Z then a ricer front wheel drive burn out. Now that's funny. Vicky

Hey Eric (spudea) if you know of the old Z Car Magazine, check out the December 1996 issue (I'll double check when I get home, I know it's a 1996 issue) with the front cover of "Awesome V-8 Z's". There is a much more supreme example of a Tilt front end on a Z car. Matter of fact the Z is called "TILT Z". It has a 383 stroker and can move. The body work is top of the line. One of the best custom Z's in the country IMO. Everybody likes something different and that's what makes the world go 'round. Vicky

Project Car 2
That lot looks like it has some old classics. Is that an old Cougar with the black vinyl top? Nice project Z by the way.

Actually John other Z's fall into that catagory more so then the Scarab. The Ferrari Z's and Tomohawk Cobra Z's for example. Will your Alpha One GTO body, that's a Ferrari-ish Z? Is it like the Scorpion body Kits? Vicky

'Big Sam' at Goodwood
What a great shot Alan! I would pay to have that picture framed and hung on my wall of Z Fame. What a fantastic automobile. Vicky

drooool....
Hi Dave My VZ does not have the grab handle on the drivers door, only on the passenger door. Scott calls it the "Oh Sh*t" handle  I always thought it was a "brace" handle for the passengers for when you're cornering and such. The driver has the steering wheel and the small pedal on the lower left side for your foot for cornering, so naturally that's what I assumed the handle was for anyway rather then for closing the door. What do you think of this Z?
What is a "ATK" block? Vicky
-
Was this a z??
This is the product of an body shop that lacks the proper ventilation. Sniffing to much clear coat and paint fumes will result in this type of modification whereas the car looks as if it has already been wrecked! Vicky

Big Sam at Goodwood.
I had mentioned that Victor but I was shot down for suggesting it, replicating a car that's still around. I guess some people don't understand that it's done all the time. It's called a "Clone".

trivia
Will, I said (typed) "Jackie Chan" for the Mitsubishi Cannonball Run answer. Who's Chong Wang???? I know Wang Chung I know that Rocky drove a Black Trans Am in one of the many sequals. "Yo Adrian, wes da keys to da caaaa". Vicky

trivia
Geez, Will I forgot all about those questions and now I've thrown out the car magazine that had the answers. I believe it was the AMC Pacer that had the longer passenger side door. As far as the no warrranty muscle car, I'm thinking it was a Mopar product. The model I'll have to dig up. I recall that Jackie Chan was in the first Cannonball run, was he in the second too? Vicky

Scarab Interior
Gav, when the four barrels kick in it is bye, bye time for anything around you. The car drives very well. Scott's Zrush is 10 times more radical than the Scarab. Scarabs were engineered to be very driver friendly but when they are called upon to perform the kick is there.

'Big Sam' at Goodwood
Thanks for those Big Sam pics Alan. That is my favortie Z racecar of all time. I realize it's just a car but all the reading I have ever done on Sam makes it seem as if he is "alive". Yes, congrads to NickH. Thanks again Alan :classic: Vicky
