HID headlights
True. We installed the "Cool Blues" on the 77 and now we have no high beams. Doesn't make much difference as we never use high beams here in the big city. The car has driving lights mounted in the aero kit to offset the loss of high beams so no big deal really. Noticed a big difference in the Cool Blues as opposed to the previous H4's that we had purchased. I like the look on an old Z. FWIW Vicky

My New Avatar
I thought one of the main goals in any type of road racing is to keep all four tires on the pavement . Just kidding ya there. Great shot and I like the color combo. Nice and bright so all the other drivers can see you IN FRONT of them. Vicky

"Payboy" must be the mag with the "breats" right? Vicky

What are all those hoses?
Looked like the guy had some kind of funky coil mounted there. But I also see the usual coil in it's correct place. I do like the wheels. Vicky

Oh gods of the Z, a newb begs for your thoughts
Hey Charlieo, just below ya here in Pasco County. In yesterday's St Pete Times, there was a 260Z for sale. Could be the same car, maybe, maybe not. Vicky

New Poll of the month May 05
Isn't #6 the obvious answer? :stupid: Another question to pose here is who uses their Z as a primary vehicle. Vicky

What Did Datsun Do To You!?
cremmenga, drop a built inline 6 in your Camaro, that'll really pizz the V-8 boys off :tapemouth Build YOUR Z to impress yourself not others, you will always win. Vicky

Z Restoration Progam
The quality of the picture is fine, it's the people in it. I do believe they are in need of a "restoration" themselves . Chris has some great shots of that car on the suncoast z car clubs website or he might even have some of his own. If not, then when we get back from MSA I'll e-mail you a picture of the car. Vicky

Z Restoration Progam
From what I've read and seen the car is mainly housed there. It was mentioned that that car does travel around, at least it did at the begining of the the program. Probably for promotional and display purposes. Vicky

Z Restoration Progam
Good God Carl, that picture you took of Scott and I back in 2000 makes us look like a couple of redneck farmers . You must get a better picture of JUST THE CAR, please . Can you go to our club website suncoastzcarclub.homestead.com and get a better picture? Chris (26th) took lots of pictures of the Z at the Tampa Convention Center. Vicky

True dat. I could care less if people download pictures of my cars. There's more important things in life to worry about then that.

What Did Datsun Do To You!?
Decided to take the 77 to a muscle car show one day. Figured what the heck, plus I love muscle cars. There were over 150 pure Detroit beasts from stock to full blown 502's and beyond. We were the only foreign car there as usual. Never expected a trophy, maybe a top 50 or something, didn't really matter. After they called all the top trophies, nothing, blanked, oh well. Started walking back to the Z to load up the chairs and stuff and they called my husbands name for BEST ENGINE.........at a muscle car show!! It was pure joy. Vicky

Tie rod replacement: ends or entire?
If the funds are there, then do it all now and get it over with. She's such a nice car, give her the upgrades that she deserves. Suppose to be a nice weekend here in Florida, perfect for that complete front end work you can do. Congrats again! Vicky

nice car but way over priced
What do you mean by "basically not a clean title technically"??? I bought one of those "dealer restored ones", I paid 28K. I bought the car for an investment, to show and I just plain love the car. The value of my Z has increased by 6K since I purchased it and that's right from the insurance companys appraisal department (34K according to Hagerty). Hagerty used their valuation of my Vintage 1972 240Z to get a value on Scotts car which is TWICE the value of my 240Z. Don't think these Z cars are worth much, think again. They aren't the little economizers of the 70's anymore, some of them are true classics worth alot more then some people what to believe. Vicky

nice car but way over priced
I have added the bungie cord battery tie down as David pointed out. My Z value has now increased by 10K. I have also smeared grime and grease on my air box to add another 5K. You are correct Tom. The dude is smokin' some serious buds :stupid: Vicky

When Installing Rear Wings???????
My husbands train of thought was/is if you are going to alter/modifiy or customize the lines of the Z then the badges should be removed for that nice clean, smooth look. Obviously, if the mod or in your case, the wing is going to affect the emblems then you need to remove them or think about a different type of spoiler that allows for the badges. I personally like the badges but they look out of place on a custom car. Stock or semi-stock OK but modified, not my cup of tea. To each his own, that's the beauty of designing your own look :classic: JMO Vicky

Z's in winter
IMO, that type of painting belongs on the side of a 1975 Chevy Street Van   . I think it's tacky looking on a z. Vicky Hope Eric N doesn't see that pic on this site. He warns people not to upload those pics to any other site other than hybridz.com. :tapemouth

I'm going to ask a dumb question. I know what an LSD is, but what is a "clutch type" LSD? The clutch plates(?) within the LSD as apposed to what? Vicky

Any ZCCA Judges in the house?
Sure Tomo, I tried to post the direct link to the rules, but it didn't work, at least for me so here's the path... Click the link www.zcca.org then z cars, motorsports, carshows, then the ZCCA rules. Vicky

Any ZCCA Judges in the house?
ZCCA rules are very simular to AACA (Antique Automobile Club of America) rules. AACA judges do not touch your car, they ask you to open doors, hoods and can even ask to verify if items work on the car, for example reverse lights. ZCCA judges allow a couple hours to prep your car then at a given time you must back away from your Z and cannot go near your car when they are judging. Of course, you cannot speak to the judge unless they ask you a question. Some people not familiar with high end shows might find this obsurd, but I feel this is the correct way. I've paid an entry fee, cleaned the hell out of my car, I want the judges full attention on my car. The kicker is, to break a tie, they can pull wires to verifiy cleanliness. Go to a local AACA show in your area and you'll get and idea of how a ZCCA show runs. Of course AACA has different classes. My 240Z was in the same class as a Ferrari.............and the little Z won, priceless Vicky
