'72 on ebay
My husband always says look under the car first. This will tell you what kind of life the car has lived and how thorough the restoration was. Will has my vote for "Z Police Chief" :classic: Vicky

Hi All, new member here.
Both my 280Z's (77 & 78) had vinyl. Vicky

'72 on ebay
Look at the shot of the rear wheel, is that a bit of rust/bubbles just in front of the wheel? Maybe, maybe not? Still a nice car, pricey, but nice. The roll bar is most tacky IMO. Vicky

Moving t he Air Temp Sensorto the Intake
Those items you mentioned are "replaced" with upgrades, fine. When you start moving items around from their natural flow on a FI car you're just asking for a hiccup or a major failure. Vicky

I am fed up...
I second what Tom said. Check your local speed shop. We purchased ours for $305.00. Mallory Unilite, MSD Blaster 2 coil, MSD 6AL ignition and MSD Superconductor 8.5mm wires. Works flawlessly. ...........and yes they are RED Vicky

Early Z Doors
Well, I must confess that this set up was a serious option on our 77. The company that was going to do the deal was called "Decca Doors". Decca would have to fabricate a piston type hinge. The hinge was big, bulky and ugly. The weight for it alone was 20 or 30 plus pounds, add the weight of the door to that and the metal would eventually fatigue where the hinge was installed. Our body guy strongly argued against doing this to the car. Now all this was about 4 years ago, things have changed and these doors are more popular so maybe an early Z could handle it. FWIW Vicky

dash rip rock
I think it's the tacky stitching that gags me. The Z's dash is so classic, I hate to see it covered in anything. Vicky

920 gold Nissan restoration program Z on ebay...It's a beauty.
Chris that car looks just like Jims. Isn't his an automatic also? As far as the colors of these VZ cars, how many of each have you located. I've seen 2 reds, 1 dark green, 2 orange and 1 lime yellow. Anybody have any different numbers? Vicky

The guy forgot to airbrush out the mung, cracks, paint chips or whatever on the 14th picture. Look just below the tail pipe on that shot, then check out the other shots of that same area on the car How obvious Vicky- 350Z-Style Stubby Antenna on Early Z?
Scott shaved the antenna on the 280Z. He purchased one of those hot rod antennas that's installed in the glove box. Vicky- MSA Show
We trailer the red Z out there. Scott won Best of Show at MSA in 2003 so we can only display the car. I love the drive to California. It's nice to see some mountains and different landscapes. Takes about four days to get to LA from here. Scott has a friend that drives his Z from Connecticut (sp?) to the show. Kevin wins the long distance award every year. Are you going? Dude, your face would blow off. Plus aeroplanes haven't come with targa tops in years. Vicky- Beautiful Show Car!!! Modified - But Beautiful!!
No bumpers, street legal? One hit on that car would require major body work, at least if you wanted if corrected properly. I agree, it's the wheels that are killer. See alot of those on hot rods. Vicky- MSA Show
Hi Tom We'll be there. We'll be wearing our CZC hats. I'll be looking at all the vendor stuff and hanging by the stage hoping to win some door prizes. Bought $25 worth of tickets in 2003 and didn't win a darn thing. Scott will be by his car. Hope the weather is warm, like 80's. I was hoping we all could cruise after the show or something. Vicky- Beautiful Show Car!!! Modified - But Beautiful!!
Wow! Must keep husband away from this post. For a car that seems so pristine the undercarriage is in need of a refresh. It almost looks like a Z that's been on "Overhaulin" except for the dinged and scratched underside. Very tempting indeed :nervous: Vicky- gotta sell my 69 fairlady
Hey that fender looks familiar. Leave it like that and the guys will start throwing dollar bills at 27th. Excellent way to finance your restoration project. When does her "Ztriped (or even Ztripped) National Tour" start Vicky- How Fast Is Fast To You?

- 280Z
Question, were the hood vents painted the same color as the car from the factory? Both my 280Z's had black vents. One Z was gold (yuck) and one was blue. I've always loved those hubcaps. - One for the purists!
