  2. I like that yellow...................on a real Z. Not some swollen, bloated, smog control excuse for making money off the legendary Z name. Oh well, to each his own I guess. Vicky

The MSD 6AL ignition is installed, the car runs like a champ and all necessary grounds are connected. When the car is running and you touch the coil you get shocked. The wire from the distributor to the coil is connected tight. The coil is a Crane Fireball PS-40. Could the coil be going bad? Don't know if it's always been this way because I've never touched the coil when the car was running. Any ideas? Vicky
  4. Glasspacks like the old Thrush or Cherry Bomb mufflers? The sound the old 70's glasspacks made when you let off the gas was awful, IMO. I hated it. Blew throught the Thrushys in less than a year, but they were wicked cheapos back then. A car that blows alot of carbon will chew through those in months. Tune your Z well. Vicky

Is this the poll? Well I'd have to say to the die hard purtist, yes it hurts the authenticity but to the desperate restorer with no other choice then No. To someone who's not a ZCCA fanatic, then you do what you have to do to make the car as correctest (thanks Chris) as possible. JMO Vicky
  7. I'd rather have Foose wheels, you know the guy who does "Overhaulin'". Anybody know if Foose will make rims for our cars? Just a thought. Vicky

Wow that is a nice straight Z. Looks like you did get a good deal. What's the engine bay area look like? The car looks like someone really took care of her. To bad it's not a 77 or 78 because I have the rubber for the bumpers in primo condition. Congrats on your new purchase :classic: Vicky

Say it Carl, FACTORY, say it. I double dog dare ya. It's probably a Factory Z. :tapemouth Vicky
  10. We're registered and ready. Lots of nice stuff for the swap meet too. Chris you get first dibs on anything you might need for you royal Z court. Can't convince Scott to Auto X ZRush. Maybe the drags then. We'll be in Friday afternoon. Vicky
  11. I think the "Z" design is classic. Why don't you see if they can make a flat plate with just the Z. I know what you mean by the center cap sticking out. I really don't care for that either but a flat Z whould look sharp. JMO Vicky

The red Z has Limo tint on it done by a professional. Here in Florida old cars are grandfathered in as far as the percentages of tint go. I like the look of a dark tint on ANY car. In Florida tint is a must for any Z with black interior....unless you want your hatch carpet to turn brown and rot. FWIW Vicky

  14. John, Florida could care less if the engine# matches the vin plate#. They don't even look at cars as old as our Z's. I remember when I first bought my 280Z in '83. The DMV clerk actually came out and looked the car over making sure the title went with that car. I always thought Vin tag #'s were different then the block # anyway. It's the plate on the strut tower that has the engine number to match the block #, correct? Vicky

Spectacular Nate! Debut her at the Florida ZFest in February. It's in Orlando, not to far for you to bring your beauty. Vicky
  21. The very first give-a-way is the map light other than the Z dash. This exact car is being built at the body shop where ZRush was born. The client has distroyed a most perfect, straight, original 1970 240Z to make the Ferrari clone. The cost of fabrication is massive because a complete sub-frame must be built to handle the torque of the Corvette crate engine that's being put in the car. Matter of fact, the body kit was the least expensive purchase for this project. I tried to buy (save) the 240Z from the owner but she would not sell her car. I told her I have a 1978 280Z that you can butcher rather than your 240Z but she was not interested. Oh well Vicky

Well I'm 43. Bought my first Z, a 78 280Z in 1983. Sold a 78 6.6 Trans Am for that Z. Bought the Z off the original owner. Prior to the Z, I was into American Muscle Cars until I caught Z Fever. Ever since then I've been into the Japanese Muscle Car, known as our beloved Z Vicky

Another bit of H2 info. They are not as big as you might think. The small distorted windows make for an optical illusion giving the vehicle the appearence of being bigger then it really is. Next time you see one in a parking lot, walk up to it, you will be amazed AND appauled. The vehicle is most definitly a "poser". Vicky
