Nice Green early 240z on Ebay
Wow, that is a nice car even though it has a few minor interior mods. Is the muffler suppose to be silver? Don't like the way you can see it from the side shot. I'd powdercoat it black. What is that thing hanging just to the left under the glove box? Very zweet Z :classic: Vicky

The letter "Z" Registered for Nissan?
This is a topic that we've discussed many times with numerous "other" automobile fanatics. The letter Z is a registered trademark of Nissan, so does that mean that no other company, auto or whatever is allowed to use the letter Z, by itself in their products? The Z28 came before our 240Z's but Chevrolet never refered to their camaro as "The Z". BMW has a Z3 (or is it a Z4) but the number follows the letter. The corvette Z06. Do you see what I mean. All other companys seem to have some other letter or number proceeding or following the letter Z. Is that because Nissan has a trademark on the letter Z. Any opinions or comments. Vicky

Rear end.. could someone help?
Brian Morrow used the R200 rear ends when he was building the Scarabs. Those cars were 327ci & 350ci, some with 350+ hp. He did put some kind of a plate on there to keep the rear end from "hopping". Served as a traction control and stabilizer of some sort. I have the name and a picture of the plate up under the rear end at home. Will try and load it up when I get home. I just cannot think of what it's called. (Getting old and the mind is going ) Vicky

What are you paying for gas?
Not 98 (I wish). We have between 93 and 95 octane at the local stations. Of course, closer to the race tracks you can get higher octanes but that's a different situation. No matter what we're getting and paying, it's all a RIPP OFF  Vicky

THE AMAZING HOVER K!!
Very "Star Warish" and very cool. Cops can't shoot out your tires on that if you decide to get in a high speed chase.

What are you paying for gas?
Same over here in the Tampa Bay area and we can get 93 to 95 octane for around $2.10 $55 a barrel I here in the news today. Man that's ridiculous Vicky

Mistaken identity
Nissan imported the Z cars under the Datsun brand incase the car was a flop here in the states. I would never call my Z's "Nissan 240Z" or "Nissan 280Z". In my opinion, when Datsun went to the Nissan 300ZX it was all down hill from there. I am proud of the Datsun name and it's recognition here. Datsun was a "strong" name in it's day, at least here in the states. Long live the DATSUN (brand)!!! Vicky

MSA 2004 on Direct TV
I have e-mailed Dish Network and asked why we don't get that channel but Direct TV does? See what kind (if any) response I get. Vicky

is this a scam?not zed related
The 60's era Mustang.........probably one of the only cars that's more prone to rust then our Z's.

here's my new ride...
I just can't picture 4 people in a Z, let alone someone sitting behind me in a Z. I quess if I wanted a 4 seater sports car I'd choose the 2+2. Just looks so long. Vicky

Anyone in West Virginia?
Welcome and congrats on your purchase. Wow, $500 for your Z, looks like you got a good deal. The Aussie members on this site know an awful lot about the 260Z. Again welcome :classic: Vicky

Lambo doors....
The "scissor" doors where the only option for the Lamborghinis' as these cars have one of the longest doors on modern automobiles. If the lambos had traditional doors and someone parked next to the car, you wouldn't be able to open the door. I watched a program on the history of lambos. The doors just happen to look cool but function was the main design. Vicky

Lambo doors....
The Decca Door rep was at a car show and the car he was displaying was a Brickyard 350Z. I thought the Lambo doors was quite an improvement on the 350Z. Actually looked pretty darn good. Check out the door space and shape on the 350Z compared to our old Z's and you can see why it's very hard to fabricate (if at all) that mod for our Z's. Vicky

Lambo doors....
Well I can tell you that we were going to do this conversion on the 77 280Z. The company here in Clearwater Florida that does that is called Decca Doors. It was going to cost almost 2K to do them on an early Z. We were going to let them mock up the brackets on a 78 280Z that we were going to junk. (No test trys on the 77 just incase it didn't work.) The custom made door hinges that go where the stock doors mount to the car were very bulky and would require alot of modification. The early Z metal in that area of the car is not strong enough alone to handle the angle of the doors let alone the added weight 25+ lbs (per bracket) of the fabricated hinges. It was determined that eventually the metal would fail and we'd have problems. Plus the fenders and all this other stuff would have to come off the car. This was back when the Lambo doors were all the rage so things might have improved as far a fabrication for an early Z. But my husband wasn't going to start tearing his car apart after all the money he put into the paint job. No way. FWIW Vicky

Sun/targa roof possible?
Stephen A few years back the actual yellow registration form listed the color of the vehicle. Now when your renewal comes in the mail it has the color listed (which you must change it if your car has been painted). The new cheapo form we Floridians carry in our cars does not have the color but the cops computer lists what color the vehicle should be. (Because your suppose to list any changes on the renewal form). O T again, sorry  Vicky

Sun/targa roof possible?
Have a friend that has a Z32 painted with that cameleon (spelling?) or Flip Flop paint by Dupont. He was pulled over and the cop gave him a ticket because the registration did not list the color of the car. Don't see to many of those paint jobs anymore around here due to that very problem...I guess. (Sorry to have drifted O T but just wanted to mention that) Vicky
