Last Oldsmobile rolls off the line today
I read that GM will roll the last Oldsmobile off the line today. I believe it's an Alero and it's going right to some museum. What will all the grandmas drive now? Vicky

looking for a tire expert
Speaking of tires. Back in the 70's we used to speak of tires in terms of width by 70's were narrow, 60's wider and 50's (being all the rage with muscle cars) were the fattys. Was this really how tires were measured back then? I had "50's" on the rear of my 78 Trans Am and they were very, very wide but fit with the car because of the flares Pontiac had on the T/A. Vicky

Turn Around
Hmmmmm........we received that same book at the Z Car Convention in New Hampshire last October. It is a great story, but I would have rather had a book on history of the Z car. Vicky

Insurance
I know here in Florida that people under 25 get boned for insurance premiums, add a sports car and a male driver and it's even worse. Once you turn 26 and your driving record is clean, the rates drop dramatically. Vicky

Looking for a '77 280z for parts
I would assume so. Basically the same car. I will try and get those pictures this week. I know my husband is not going to just take parts off the car, he wants the whole thing gone. It does have the R200 rear end and a 4 speed tranny, spoiler (front & rear), louvers, American Racing Mags. This was a beautiful car at one time. sblake01 could probaly give you more info on the 77-78 interchanges. Vicky

How well do L24 hold up to nitrous?
Summit has a "Cheater System" that has 4 hp levels controlled by flare jets, from 150 to 250 hp. I like the "Fogger" system myself. But IMO NOS is fake hp. A true beef engine is built from the inside out with no buttons to push later to give you boost. I'm sure this will anger a few of you guys so I will run for cover nowLOL Vicky

Looking for a '77 280z for parts
We have a 78 280Z that we kept as a parts car until we realized the 77 was in much better shape than 78. Some guy from Orlando is suppose to buy the car. He's going to make it a V-8 rod. If he doesn't come through, anyone who wants to come to New Port Richey Florida (near Tampa) can have the entire car for a $100. It's been sitting behind the body shop for 5 years. The car is rough now but parts are salvagable. If nobody wants it, to the bone yard she goes The car was a show car in the early 80's. I'll try and snap off a few pictures later so you guys can see her. Vicky

260Z 2+2 Convertible On Ebay Australia
I've always wondered about the structure on the convertable Z's. Since the car is a unibody, doesn't hacking off the roof make the car some what weaker body wise? That convertable kind of looks like a 70's Fiat Spider... sort of. Vicky

Running PULP
We always run Premium Unleaded in our Z cars. If you can get away with regular unleaded then do it, what with the price of gas nowadays:tapemouth After a running through a few tanks of gas we throw in injector or carb cleaner, but thats it. I don't know what the "valve" thing would be. Vicky

Mystery Dash Clock
Did you run over a pothole? Maybe a loose connection to the clock. If it stops working again, try a pothole. Would be cheaper than a mechanic. Scott:stupid: :stupid:

engine cosmetics
Our valve cover is chrome, no signs of peeling anywhere. Polished stainless is the way to go for things, radiator cover, a/c thingy, battery box and hiding the uglys under the hood. Billet is awesome too, like for the pulleys and such. Coolflex hosing is also a nice touch. What's not chromed, billet or stainless under our Z's hood is painted............red!!! Vicky

Need "Red" Seatbelts (of course)
I know the 1980 ZX Anniversary Edition came in black and gold and I believe they offered a rare red and black/silver?. I bet that car had red seat belts. But do I want a ZX part in my Z? (just kidding). I think I will settle for the dye option. Thanks for all the replys guys Vicky

Stock or Racing Seats
Gav Is the car slightly modified? If so, go with your Sparco's. If the car is stock then puffin' up the stock seats. We did it in the red Z and we don't slide around, have lots of support and they still have the stockish look. We just (obviously) modified the colors. Just my .02 cents Vicky

Need "Red" Seatbelts (of course)
Hi Chris! That's how faded our seat-belts are, they're gray which actually matches the dash and the other grays in the car. I really think red would look nice or maybe even a wine color to match the carpet. Scott will have the final say..........his car...........his "other woman"LOL Vicky

Need "Red" Seatbelts (of course)
Hi guys I need to replace the gray seat-belts in the '77 280Z. Of course they MUST be red! Did Datsun ever have red seat-belts in any of their early Z's. If not, do you think that dyeing is an option? If they are available should I give Mid-West Z a call? Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated:classic: Vicky

any z licence plate ideas?
The '77 280Z has "Z Rush" and the '72 240Z has "Itsa 72Z". I wanted "InZane" for the red Z but the State of Florida has cracked down on what they deem as offensive plates.....wha??? Some other cool plates... Wa Wa Zit - I saw this on a Z06 Corvette X TA Z - Was on a Z28 Camaro Fazt Z Zweet Zpeed Just about anything that has an "S" you can use for a "Z" Vicky

Car won't start on "D", "1", "2", "R"
Me too Stephen. My friends and I were younger and stupider also, plus they were trying to be cool and show how they could shift without the clutch depressed. This was way back in the 70's. Vicky

Z car Insurance Deal
What is the GTO body kit? Is it fiberglass? Most insurance companys jack up the price on a glass car no matter who you go with. Got any pictures of your Z Tomohawk? Vicky

Car won't start on "D", "1", "2", "R"
Yes, I know about the push start with a manual car. But I'm confused on the "Clutch Disengage". Is that like what some of my friends used to do when they shifted the car without pushing the clutch in? Vicky

Z car Insurance Deal
Hagerty is cheap because they are a "Specialty" insurance comapny. They assume that people with show/rare/high-end exotics don't drive their autos in the same manner as they would their everyday beater. People with these type of vehicles tend to be more cautious when driving, making extra sure nothing happens to their car. Vicky
